Today, I had my lunch over here, it was quiet okay but I have an issue regarding bill:


Bill amount:675.00RS


Service Charge:10.00% :67.00  RS


Service Tax:5.44%:36.72 RS


VAT:14.50%:97.88 RS


Total:878.00 RS


As far as I know service tax is applicable only on service charge not on the entire bill amount.So here instead of 36.72 RS it should be around 3.50 RS but when I asked the accountant, he said to me..


No it is applicable on complete bill. Can you guys please tell me whether i'm right or wrong.
