Marriot Goa Resort Review : Excellent Service
Sep 05, 2018 03:56 PM 413 Views

We stayed in Marriot Goa Resort - Panaji hotel for four days in March 2018 when we took a family trip from Mumbai where we worked at that time. I choose Goa Marriott hotel because it was right on the beach. There are some good hotels in Goa, but we decided to stay at Marriott - Goa because of the well-known hospitality.

I and my family enjoyed a lot. When we went to Goa and it was a season of vacation, so beaches are more crowded but the advantage of booking this hotel is the beach facing view. The hotel was an excellent choice as it is located in the Panaji, Goa’s capital and is within 15-20 minutes from all mesmerizing spots.

Our first spot was Vagator beach which was only about 18.7 km from Panaji. Marriott hotel provided us with a car and a driver, we went to Tito nightclub which is also about 30 mins ride from the hotel.

The breakfast was too good, and the food served for lunch and dinner was lit. Marriott hotel has a nice gym opens 24 hours.

Overall, it was an awesome experience, we really enjoyed our vacation because of the helpful staff of Marriott. We will definitely go back to this hotel next time we are in Goa.

I went to goa last month and stayed at marriot in panji for 3 nights. The moment I entered in this resort I was welcomed in traditional goa style with welcome drink.check in was very easy and smooth. As I am the member of marriot club they gave me free upgrade and wifi as well.Reception lobby area is so alive and you can have great view with cold wind in lobby it self.Person from reception came with me and show me the room and explained some features like direct pool excess etc etc.My room was sea view which comes with a breathtaking view.Service of the hotel was very nice.Staff is well trained and very polite, they may go an extra mile to make you feel welcome. It has direct beach excess as well. They do provide airport transfer.I ate breakfast at the ground level restaurant which was really good.It is a bit expensive but every rupee is worthy spending on this hotel. If you are not staying at south goa then it is the best resort in goa!

Food is yummy.

Value for money.

The USP for the Goa Marriott Resort is its exceptionally good service.Very warm, smiling and friendly staff.Special food was cooked for our baby by the main chef for every meal.Bay view rooms are excellent.Nice play area for kids.Loved the comfortable and lovely experience.

The experience was far superior than my expectation for a perfect holiday. The hospitality was at its ultimate best. The entire team led by Ashwin, was fantabulous. The spa, pool, beachfront, spread at breakfast are two thumbs up! Keep it up Marriott, you sure know how to get smiles on your guests and with a smile on your face!

Stayed here for 3 nights in Bayview room. Fantastic room with a gorgeous view. The lobby itself is amazing, gets you relaxed. Everything from checkin to checkout was smooth. I did mobile checkin being a club member. Subhanjana at the front desk was always available and more than happy to help.

What can I say about this hotel?! It was amazing staying here! The restaurant had a great choice of food, even if you didnt like something or my little one wanted something they would make it. The staff in the restaurant especially Shilpa, Simran and Samantha were so attentive towards my families needs

Great Experience which I still miss

It has been sometime since visited Goa Marriot Resort. I sent my positive feedback to them after my return but was planning to put review here for long time.

I stayed there with my wife for 5 nights. Place was quite good with nice view from reception.

Being platinum member I got free breakfast and free wifi.Only a couple of things which I hope could have been better-

  1. Being a platinum member was expecting room upgrade which I didn't get due to busy season.

  2. Room was far off from reception and no wifi in the room.

But overall I was quite happy with the services, place and view.

Was here on a conference and I must say that the staff is awesome. The conference itself was beautifully handled, the food was great!

The staff is very courteous and always willing to help when you want them. They know when they are not needed and basically don't hang around for tips (which makes you want to tip them).

All in all, a wonderful stay+conference!

Keep it up!

Monsoons - One of the Best Times to be in Goa!!!
Sep 03, 2013 09:49 PM 1025 Views

Believe it or not Goa is most beautiful in the monsoons. This time is stayed for 1 night in Marriot, Goa. It's a beautiful property right on the Miramar Beach in Panaji, The rooms are beautifully done and are quite spacious. I stayed in the Garden view room as Ocean view was totally sold out that day. I would recommend Ocean view room anyday to garden view room. I loved the infinity pool of The Marriot which is bit small but beautiful. It has swin-in bar stools where you can sit in the pool and enjoy your drinks. The food was also great!!!! All in all I will recommend this property to anyone visiting Goa!!!

Great Place in Panjim, Goa
Jun 16, 2013 01:17 PM 1251 Views

I stayed at Marriott Goa in Jun 2013 and was very happy with the hotel. The location is excellent, in the heart of Panjim, very close to Panjim market and also river cruise boarding spot. The ambiance of the hotel is quite good and welcoming. The staff is pleasant, helpful and unobtrusive. The buffet spread is quite good and tasty.

The pool is quite big and borders on to the sea, giving am impression of a continuous water body. The hotel does not have a private beach but a part of Miramar beach can be approached only from the hotel, making it a de facto private beach. The fitness centre is also quite good.

I did think of staying at Taj which is closer to Calangute but decided against it. I am happy I chose Marriott which provided quite the same ambiance at a lower price and was better located for my requirements.

This hotel is lovely. in a need a of a wee update but not much to complain about!

The rooms are big and spacious. It has a lovely tiled bathroom with massive shower.

And compliementary slippers and bathrobe are an added bonus.

The tariff was included breakfast, amazing one!

Brilliant!

The pool was amazing. you can see right over the sea from the sunbeds. And watch the boats go in and out.

Very relaxing!

Location is unbelievable with great views of the confluence of river and the sea. Kids Play area is excellent where you can leave kids for a couple of hours.

We had lunch there as well on the day we arrived.

Itwas very expensive compared to anywhere else we'd eaten, £10 each forthe buffet. everywhere else in Goa dinner(2 course plus drinks each)had never cost us more than £14 for both of us!

Having said that, it was tasty. just not worth the price tag.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. and fine if you have that sort of money to spend.

Goa Marriott Resort
Sep 21, 2006 11:45 AM 2823 Views

Early 2005 we visited Goa Marriott resort for our honeymoon, despite the thought of 'So much money spent in India - for this price you can go abroad and have a honeymoon' - because of tighter schedule before rejoining offices!!!

Location: In outskirts of Goa's capital Panjim, very conveniently located and easily accessible from all the important places. A stone's throw away from Miramar beach and with short rides reachable to Dona Paula and other North/South Goa beaches. The resort is at the mouth of Mandovi river where it meets Arabian Sea. You can see multiple different shades of water from your room balcony. (8/10)

Facilities: Brilliant swimming pool. One end of swimming pool opening up to Bar. The bar tables are submerged in water, so one can sip on drinks while still being inside swimming pool. Apart from this, Marriott has a casino, various restaurants, a shopping arcades, gym. For water sports enthusiasts, the resort offers in house scuba diving school ( http://www.barracudadiving.com - A PADI certified school - one can get certification on diving from here, which is valid around the world). Other water sports are available however are limited in choice - unlike Baga or Kalangute. (8/10)

Room: A very neatly designed. Most of the rooms give a view of Mandovi River or are garden facing. Honeymooners are welcomed with a nicely decorated room, a cake and a bottle of wine - make sure you inform them in advance. We were fortunate enough to catch glimpse of freshwater dolphins from our room balcony, when we tried to track the dolphin spotting rode boats. Rooms feature mini bars, safe, ironing and other regular facilities. (8/10)

Food: Multiple options. They have 1 Chinese restaurant, 1 poolside barbecue place, 1 Seafood specialty restaurant, 1 lobby bar and 1 cafe which doubles up as the restaurant serving Indian / Continental food. If you have taken the all inclusive package, this is the place where you would be served your buffet B/L/D. The spread is quite good, very tastefully designed and very very generous. The all inclusive package also entitles you to 2 drinks in lobby bar. (8/10)

Service: The resort ranks good in terms of services provided. A pickup and drop in AC bus from and to airport, complimentary message (was not a feature back then, I guess now its introduced in some of the packages). The staff is very friendly and takes care to remember guest's name to extend a personal touch. Many packages also include a mandovi river boat cruise and an Old Goa tour. (8/10)

A word of caution here, is to be careful booking a taxi through the resort, as the charges are high, its better to walk for 2 minutes, where you hit Panjim main road and take an auto/cab from there. Another very lucrative option is also to rent a two-wheeler and use it to roam around goa.

Beach: One drawback of this property is its lack of private beach. Although the beach outside the resort is very secluded in nature, but is still accessible from other end of Miramar beach. A 10 minutes walk on the beach leads you to heart of Miramar beach. The beach outside the resort lacks in seclusion as given by south goa beaches, or crowd, food and recreation option of any of the North Goa beaches. (5/10)

The only regret with this property is, well yes, the costof luxury!!! The rates are not within reach of indian middle class. This is one of the costliest resorts in Goa - a 5 Star Deluxe property. The rates vary from 18 to 24K for 3 night package (Ensure you check for latest rates, the rates I mentioned are a year old). (7/10)

Well, all good things come at a price, don't they?

PS: Don't forget to catch the glimpse of Goa Marriott in the famous bollywood song 'Gila Gila' filmed on Akshaye Khanna and Kareena Kapoor.

Superb Holiday resort
Jun 14, 2006 12:09 PM 1757 Views

I had visited Goa marriott on 5th and 6th May 2006 with my wife and 6 year old son. The hotel experience was superb. The breakfast was lavish and also the pizzas were very good.

We stayed on the executive floor bay view rooms and the view was mind boggling. The advantage for these executive rooms is we get to use the lounge service free of charge ie internet is free, they have breakfast laid in the morning if you do not want to go the restaurant for breakfast. Also they have happy hours from 6.30pm to 9.30 pm where you can drink as much as you like free of cost. For alcohol drinkers, this is the best treat. Also they have light bitings laid on the table during happy hours which is also filling.

My son enjoyed the swimming so much that he was not ready to get out of the pool throughout the day. They also have a children's room where the child can be looked after by the caretaker (very gentle and sober looking) and they show kiddie movies, play games, etc.

Also the Gym has the latest treadmills of lifestyle and the instructor also takes good care of you.

Further we had a DVD player provided in our room, so we could call one movie a day and watch late nights from the hotel collection.

Overall i can give this a 5 star rating for all services.

Fabulous Experience
Jun 01, 2006 06:32 PM 1882 Views

I stayed in Marriot, Goa in 2004 for a conference for 3 days, somewhere in August. It was an amazing experience. Our mornings used to start with playing volley ball in pool , sometimes at Gym or playing Table tenis and then zacuzi.Entire day was spent in conference but in the evnings we had romantic pool side cocktail dinner and orcourse how can one miss the beach which was a part of the hotel.I dont think I have ever slept before 4 a.m.and used to get sharp at 6a.m. since we had very tight schedule for 3 days.Service of the hotel is very good, very cooperative hospitality.Service was good and i'm missing those beds.I think I stayed in their deluxe room. The only flaw which I can think of is that its slightly far from the main city where normally everyone wants to hang around and specially if some one is extremely fond of beaches, I mena happening beaches like anjana etc , then one wants to stay in centre of the city rather then spening too much time in traveeling. But for romantic and a peaceful stay, I beleive Marriot is the place.I persoanlly like their food a lot.....favorite dish would not comment since I'm a vegetarian and its a place for lopsterand fishes...Looking forward to go there again with family.I'm missing Goa!!!!soon will be there..........

I have visited Goa Marriott resort. Fantastic ambience.

We stayed for Seven wonderful days in this bravura city.

Marriott resort is at the best location you can imagine, remarkably quiet, Marriott’s Beautiful and cozy interiors. Lovely Ambience.

A full breakfast cooked by ''chief'' and served with love and care. Tasteful multi cuisines...veg nonveg both are so delicious. Love all the buffet and dinner I had. I also like bar there and simply fish arrange a special menu for Valentine’s Day that was exotic candle lite dinner with goan light music.

So special is the very personal touch they add to a stay.

Always time for a conversation before or after the daily program of exploring the city or the folk dances with dinner. the and excellent advice for things to do or dining.

Must have to describe about salsa learning, jacuzzy, scuba diving, swimming, karaoke and cassino.....all are amazing.

Many thanks for your great hospitality and it must be rewarding that, You fully deserve it.

A great holiday
May 19, 2006 01:11 PM 1735 Views

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel in April 2006 for a three day holiday. The hotel was excellent and reasonably priced. Excellent service in all aspects. We all enjoyed our time at the hotel.

The negative for the hotel is that it is away from the popular beaches and does not have a beach of its own. Where it is built no swimming in the sea is permitted. To compensate they have an excellent swimming pool and other facilities.

The hotel is at the edge of the city which means we get good beach restaurants within walking distance. Getting a taxi did prove a problem and we had to hire a car from outside to save the cost of hotel cars which is high.

The people in Goa are honest. My daughter left her purse with considerable money in the hotel and got it back and refused to take any reward.

Wherever we went in Goa we did not get the feeling that you have to bargain or that people were trying to cheat you. That to me is unique in India for a tourist destination.
