Malshej Ghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range in the Thane-Ahamad Nagar Road of Maharashtra, India. The site is nestled in the lofty rugged hills of the Western Ghats. So after a major planning, we set off for exploring Malshej ghat on a sunny day! It was beckoned us for so long and finally we responded to it..awesome beauty, awesome waterfall took our minds away. We enjoyed dancing under the waterfall and ate sweet corn. As it was the most relishing food that u can enjoy in rainy season. So thatz it...i am totally in love with Malshej ghat!

Nothing better to do during weekends than to drive down the beautiful Malshej ghats. The journey is filled with green plantations and is quite adventurous. This is a superb place for Mansoon when you can enjoy cloud, cold and Bhutta over here along with Waterfalls.

Malshej Ghat is a mountain pass nestled in the lofty rugged hills of Western Ghats. The monsoon months of August and September are a good time to visit Malshej Ghat, with green hills and exotic flamingos visit this area during monsoon months.Drive here is worth it. Roads are smooth and nature is serene. Traffic is less.

Malshej ghat its around 120km from pune. There is small village named as madh, actually me went there with my office friend for some official work. And luckily it was rainy season. From madh village malshej ghat was just 5km. So after finishing work we decided to visit there. Really it was awesome experiance. Everywhere just fog was there. And also there was small tunnel which is just 30 meter. Over which waterfall get down. we just went around 12km ahead where thane district boundry started.But travelling thrugh malshej road it was thrilling journey because big size of rock can be roll down anytime. no fence is there ti protect you from any accident. So dont stop maximum time on road. Be safe.

When it comes to best places around pune then malshej ghat comes right on the top if you loves hilly view points.this is wonderfull place for photoshoot.if you are a waterfall lover then u can enjoy on its way. You can visit malshej ghat in all season. There are no shops on its way but road side stalls are available for snacks. A beautiful lake comes on the way to malshej.

This place to me is heaven. Malshej ghat is a very popular spot and is famous for waterfalls and scenic beauty. Tourists and motorists are often there on weekends. The climate is very pleasant here and one can see greenery enroute Malshej. Malshej is around 100 kms from Mumbai. Best place for bikers to explore on weekends.Best time is during monsoon.Cornering is fun here.

Hello everyone this is Sahil Nanda from New Delhi I would like to tell you about the place which is Malshej Ghat. it is located in the Pune districts near the districts of Thane and Ahmednagar. It is located at above 700 mts from sea level.

This place is very good for the nature lovers and those who want to see flamingos Birds there are lots of Flamingo Birds you can see in this place. You can reach there by bus and the good time to reach there is August to September which is a monsoon time.

Last year I went to this place and this year I also planning to go and visit Malshej Ghat with my friends so I suggest you all of you guys to go this place once.

One must visit this place.Chillll .very nice experience I had in my last visit. Good for friends gang .

Can plan it for two days visit so that can make a visit to some other places nearby too.

Pimpalgaon Joga Dam, Malshej falls, Harischandragad Fort trek, Ajoba Hill fort, and also can make a visit to Lonavala

Its around 125kms from malshej ghat.

Malshej ghats is located in maharashtra near pune. This place just believe me is a absolute paradise on earth. This place just offers amazing scenic views including lust green area, waterfalls which adds so much beauty to the place, foggy and hilly areas which is so beautiful in specialy winters. This place usually falls in the western ghats of the country.

Things to do-

firstly you must visit this place by your own car as it around 140 km from pune and is around 2 3 hours drive.

You can also witness lust green area which is just so beautiful.

Most importantly you can do trekking and also paragliding which is just amazing for adventure seekers.

Its a must must visit place for all the nature lovers and adventure seekers.

This is the most beautiful place I've visited during the monsoon while travelling. No words to describe the beauty of the valley's and greenery you will witness in here. It is just awesome.

I travel from Ahmednagar to mumbai via malshej. It has always been the favorite part of the trip. There are 2-3 spots in between where you can stop the enjoy the waterfalls there. Earlier there were no such proper provisions but in recent 2-3 yrs lot of new developments have taken place. Also there are lot of food stalls now to have snacks. You'l definitely enjoy this place if you visit during monsoon. Weekends are very crowded here but worth a visit.

Also if you have your own bike this is will be the best option to witness the scenery instead of a 4 wheeler vehicle.;)

Malshej ghats is one of the dangerous and beautiful ghats in maharashtra.It recovers the natural beauty and The site is home to hundreds of different kinds of flora  and fauna especially the avian population such as quails, rails, crakesflamingoes and cukoos to go there  Malshej ghat, with average height of 700 mts[1] is situated in Pune district near the borders of Thane and Ahmednagar districts.

It is at a distance of 130 km north of Pune and 154 km from Mumbai towards northeast. The nearest railhead is Kalyan in Thane District near Mumbai. From Kalyan Rail Station, one can take state buses that commute frequently between Kalyan and Ahmednagar. Yoj must visit once to see the natural beauty.

Malshej ghats which is 67 kms from Kalyan is a beautiful hill station for a day or overnight trip during monsoons its full of waterfalls and natural beauty you can feel the clouds around you and innumerable waterfalls flowing from the peak.

The only problem is that you need a personal vehicle such as a car or a bus as there is no public transport facility also there is food and accommodation available only at the MTDC point with all these existing issues I would suggest it as a must visit during monsoon.

We three friends were looking to go to a picturesque place within 150 kms of Pune. Zeroed down on Malshej Ghat as this place has a MTDC resort. where we could rest for the night. Soon we were off in our vehicle to explore. The weather was fairly dry till we reached within 20 kms of Malshej Ghat. From a steady drizzle it began to pour.

Suddenly, a dense blanket of fog enveloped us within a km away from the Malshej Ghat MTDC resort. With great difficulty we could locate the small MTDC signage in the fog. Once inside the resort, the romancing amidst the clouds started.The fog was everywhere, from the resort entrance to the dining hall. There was even a steady stream of fog blowing through our room making the atmosphere almost haunting and magical. The winds were so strong that whole night we could hear the windows creaking and banging. The experience was too good to be true and it was hard deciding whether to go out for a walk in the fog or enjoy it from the warm beneath our blankets. The resort was on the ridge of the ghat with a grand view (if the fog permitted that is of the ravines), a garden and fencing for safety.

The food was not to spectacular, but with good company, chilling winds and the fog playing on your senses, nothing else mattered.
