Stupid and technically wrong
Jun 20, 2003 06:44 PM 2913 Views

The slogan says it all''EXPRESSION COMPLETED'' but it didnt say which expression.

The ad begins with a dumb bimbo waiting in a jewellery. She sees a guy with his mobile. She watches the mobile through the mirror and gets smitten.

Now what I like to know is how come the reflection of the words that come on the mobile is readable.Shouldnt the reflection be reversed

The ad doesnt make any sense at all. This ad really is the worst that has been screened in recent times.

I suggest that this ad be shown on ''How not to make an ad''.

''The rocks outside seem better''

The ad is of a rich socialite lady who has been given exclusive access within a jewellry shop. She's checking out an impressive set of diamonds when she notices a man with a LG CDMA phone, and is tempted to steer away from her best friend (diamonds) to a best man. (I am sooo tempted to be cheeky here, but shan't).

The ad either says, use LG CDMA phones to boost your status in society (barf), the phones are more precious than diamonds (I still dont believe she was attracted to the phone ;) ), or LG's got so much money they dont know what to do with it.

Here's another ad with no purpose or description of the product / services. I suppose in comparison SONY really takes the cake here, with their lifestyle-oriented campaign.

LG & Diamond's

This advt. though appears to be a bad with

most of my friends at mouth shut - I the

real idea behind this LG want to distinguish

it self as the Diamond of all the mobile phones

available in the market.

Till date LG didn’t have any presence in the

Mobile Handset market accept for Garuda that

That you know was a bad service with a equally

Bad handset – with half a kilo battery.

LG’s alliance with MTNL didn’t paid-up because

Of Technical problems with MTNL Garuda and

Board decision to only sell heavy batteries to add to the

Discomfort.

With its now a new & smart alliance with the most

Valuable company of India – Relaince – It just want

To say that LG CDMA phones are what Diamond is

To Jewellery. They are the best and for ever.

And LG has Proven it that it phones are good they have

The unmatched features compared to all other mobile

Phones in the same price category, LG phone have lot

More.

This all is good for LG as a Brand Logic – but the same

Thing Is a big hoax as the Handset used in the advt. is

Colour handset Which are till date not available in the market.

I myself wanted To get Color LG Handset, but Reliance denied

of the Availability And said you can opt for B&W now, and we

will change for you Later. But with the Element of 25% Depreciation,

and subject to Phone to be surrendered in the new condition,

any scratches will mean I will end-up paying for almost two phones.

So I decided for LG B&W as there was no other choice available

And till date I don’t have any problems, by handset doesn’t heat up

Unless it talk for 20 min’s at a stretch. But overall its really

The best phone instrument for the and I am very much satisfied

For its clear reception and very much user friendly features.

Cant Do Magnificent Ads
May 08, 2003 11:00 PM 2527 Views

This is the first time I think LG is coming out with mobile phones.sure some of them look very snazzy and cool but that has been blown by the advertisement.in any case with the comments im getting about the LG phones I think they should just stick to making home appliances.have you all heard those complaints about the phone?if not then the problems with the phone is that the phone heats up while in use causing the person owning it to get angry.now I get the connection between the phone and the lady in the ad.they are both hot.

the advertisement is quite silly though.there is a woman who enters a jewelry shop in her best dress to check out the stones and ornaments on the shelves.but wait its closing time right? but how is she still in there? I dont know ask the bright ones who came up with the advertisement.ok after she enters and even though its closing time she still tries on that eye blinding sparkling diamond studded necklace.now comes the best part.the assistant behind the desk trusts the lady with all her heart.so what does she do?she goes to the door turns the placard to the closed sign and pushes off.well well nice opportunity.normally they wouldnt even move an inch until you have put down those diamonds and its back safely under the glass display.

now a young gentleman wandering around outside has nothing to do.all of a sudden his phone rings.there comes that beauty.the phone is pulled out with grace and attitude.its like LOOK I HAVE A NEW PHONE YAAAAY!!!o by the way the man knows the shop is closed.as he is talking on his phone the lady trying on the jewels suddenly spots him.she then turns the hand held mirror she is admiring herself in and focus's it on the phone.first of all the way those diamonds were shining ,the reflection of them of the mirror would have blinded her.but the mirror has some weird power.it magnifies the reflection of the phone especially the model number thus defying and breaking every rule and observation that has been made about plane mirrors in physics.the phone looked like it was a mile away.

now she is tempted by the phone and wants a closer look at it.why does she need to do that she has alice's magical looking glass right?so she tiptoes to the glass door of the shop and turns the placard back to the open sign and quickly makes her way back to the chair.a weird looking chair though.its in the shape of the hand. I like the way she sat on the chair because it only shows the middle finger of the hand.straight at you all you nutty LG executives.now inspite of knowing that the shop is closed he falls for the trick even a donkey wouldnt fall for and enters the shop.that is the entire advertisement.now there is a huge smile on her face so ''expression completed''.

the advertisement was going in the right direction but then got bad as it progressed.they tried showing that the phone is a must have item and that it is also a must see and must buy item.but there are so many other ways in doing that.the advertisement did make a little sense but the way it was carried out was terrible.i guess all our advertising executives have to start thinking about redoing that ad. But atleast this time it isn’t connected with cricket.thus making a small progress.the advertisement is also very predictable.after she sees the phone I definitely knew what she was going to do next. They need to come out with ads to which people don’t know the ending to and make them sit back and say that this is a good ad.the ad has got a lot of frowns from the people who I have seen watching it.it’s a good idea they just need to find a new way to carry out the ad.

Oh flash me LG-man!
May 08, 2003 12:46 PM 3920 Views

This happened to me on a balmy evening.

I got dressed in my best satin evening gown. I put on my best make up, did up my hair in a very appealing kind of way and donned my best jewellery. I made sure that I looked like a million bucks.

For some strange reason, I forgot where I wanted to go. Since I was already all done up, I didn't want to undo the hours of make-up. Being the man-trap that I am, I decided to roam around in a jewellery store and look for hunks. I saw this wonderful store that was all empty. Nobody in it. I think I saw a store attendant there, but he seemed to be so anonymous that he seemed to blend in with the jewellery display shelves. Perfect. The only piece of attraction would be me! I saw only one chair there. God, it was made to look like a hand! Never saw a hand-chair before. But it sure excited me to be seated on something's hand! As I leaned daintily to one side, I saw a mirror. Bored as I was, I decided to at look the jewellery. But I soon got bored since I was wearing the best jewellery myself. So what better thing to look at than myself. I took a hand-mirror and began admiring my beauty.

Then all of a sudden I saw something flash in my mirror. Could it be my own beauty's brilliance? No, its something else. There's that flash again!! I looked out and there was this guy with his flashy thing! Oh my god!!! The shop sign says Closed! Have I been inside that long? I tip-toed to the door, and changed it back to Open without him noticing me!!

He came inside!! Oh my my!! He has that flashy thing. Its making me crazy with pleasure!! Oh my God, it says LG on that thing! Must be his charm weapon. I wonder what he does with that. Why cant he just wave that thing at me and sweep me off the floor with its magic. Flash me LG-man, I said to myself! Oh my here he comes towards me. Im all excited, and a bit scared too. Ooooo, hes going to say something to me, Im sure.

''Ummmmm, excuse me Ma'am, is there a rest room here in this mall?''

Jewellery or cellphone
May 08, 2003 02:20 AM 1935 Views

This ad is as much about the jewellery as about the mobile phone. lg can very well start a new product line and not go thru the costs of advting one more time.

so how duz this ad actually promote wht is meant to promote. thereare no feature sof the cell phone which are shown . except for its attention grabbing features. so when u are in need of making a call. do u try to grab other ppl's attention.

a ad which lost its way in the concept. no product details apart from its flip-panel view.

a bad ad good models.

Phoney ad

O.k..here we go...beautiful girl sitting in a glass door shop (the shop is closed!) sees a guy outside dilly dallying on the shop steps and playing with his phone and it gets her all aroused etc etc. I mean the phone makes her get up, go aaaaaall the way to the shop door and flip the hanging cardboard (what's the neame for that thing that tells customers whether the shop is open or not) CLOSED to OPEN. She then quietly slips back and waits for the phone (oops!!), the man to enter. I'll buy this phone if I had the money and the inclination to get a CDMA. I'm a simple minded guy who likes to see pretty girls ogling at my phone and yes....did someone notice the background score...i think it's nice.
