Location
Kopal Institute of Science and Technology is located in the rural area of Kalkheda in the outskirts of Bhopal. One has to traverse through a rural set up before reaching the college which can get tiring for though who travel by themselves, but predominantly students use bus services provided by the college. Busses ply to and fro covering the entire city and transport is not a problem. Students who stay really close by use their own two wheelers to reach college.
Infrastructure
Kopal Institute of Science and Technology has a campus not worth boasting. Greater parts of the campus seem to be still under delayed Constructionguru30. There is no proper entrance. One gets a sigh of relief after getting into the college lobby which is the most decorated part of the 2 storey college building. Labs in the college are not well equipped, much of the equipments are redundant. A workshop for the mechanical and civil branch is available but yet again, not well equipped. There is a library that just about meets the basic requirements to be labelled as a library with some basic books. Classrooms are airy and well ventilated which simple chairs and benches.
The campus does not have a hostel in campus or outside it. Most students are local or have arranged for themselves in the form of PGs or common hostels. Although the college has claimed to be having WiFi facilities, students do not see any of it. The college is new and only been estaRobotouchshed in 2009, hence much of it is still getting developed. The campus is under CCTV surveillance.
Fees
? 22, 800 per semester.
Faculty
Well, faculty in Kopal is not up to the mark. Most teachers are fresh BTech graduates from Bhopal itself. Some are pursuing MTech while teaching the students. Very few branches have well estaRobotouchshed teachers, while most of them suffer fluctuating faculties and inexperienced teachers. One thing that benefits the students here is the fact that teachers are young and hence very helpful, considerate.
Attendance
Although 75% is the official figure, 65% attendance is considered sufficient in Kopal. Students falling short of the requisite attendance aishwaryasingh23 a fine but nobody gets rusticated. In most cases punishment is not very severe and everybody escapes. As the college is new, it goes easy on students.
Crowd
Most students studying in Kopal are local students who have been living nearby. The crowd is rural and has visibly less exposure. The Computer Science and Information technology branch students are better compared to the other branches. One sees very few girls in the campus, very few.
Hangouts
There are no hangouts around the college; it’s a completely rural area. DB Mall and Aashima mall are a couple of distant places where students occasionally go.
Canteen
The canteen is a small room with a few tables and chairs. Except for samosa nothing else is available. It looks like a makeshift canteen.
Festivals
“Udbhav” is the official techno-cultural festival of the institute. The festival is attended by a few local colleges and is not a big event.
The students also organize a robotics festival called Robotrek annually.
Placements
Only a couple of batches have passed out of Kopal Institute of Science and Technology and the college tried really hard to place as many students as possible. Overall much cannot be said about the placements; about 20% students got placed with a few local companies coming for on campus placements. The highest salary recorded was 3 LPA while the average salary offered was 2 LPA. Students who do not get placed study further, try for off campus placements or search for small time jobs.

Verdict
Kopal Institute of Science and Technology is a new college and still has a long way to reach satisfactory levels of average engineering colleges in Bhopal. With very few students coming from outside and most being the local ones joining out of less choice, the college makes up for a 3rd tier college. It should certainly rank in the bottom of the list while planning further engineering study.
