Hotel Le, Coorg Reviews

Worst Experience..beyond expectations of change
Nov 21, 2023 02:30 PM 41 Views (via Mobile)

We went to Coorg in 2nd week of November and this hotel was booked through MAKEMYTRIP.

Everything in this hotel was an issue right from Location, hospitality, amenities and food.

I am a frequent traveller but MAKEMYTRIP has completely ruined my coorg visit by suggesting such a horrible place to stay.

I will never suggest anyone to plan long trips through MAKEMYTRIP.

  2. Gave clothes to the drier, had to give twice still it not got dried

  3. No continuous power.(They mentioned 24x7 power when checking in)

  4. No continuous hot water.(They mentioned 24x7 hot water as well)

Hi All,

I have stayed in Hotel Le Coorg for 3 days. it's been a great and pleasant stay at Le Coorg. It is located at the center of Madikeri(Coorg). They greet the guest with Coorg special coffee and does the rest of formalities.

The services offered by team is excellent. all the services is very fast in doing their activities.

More importantly, the cost of stay is within the budget.

Overall a tremendous hotel for stay.

Below par experience

I had asked for 2 Standard non-Ac rooms for the 15th -17th of Nov @ Rs.1800/- per night, their published tariff. The immediate response was that there wasn't any STD rooms available on that day and that they could offer super deluxe rooms @ Rs.2800/- per night. I had a creepy feeling that they are trying to sell the same room at a higher price with little or no additional facilities. Tired of searching for options, I finally settled for a negotiated rate of Rs.2000/- per night. 50 percent of the tariff was demanded upfront for confirmation and the remaining amount upon checking in.

I've never had such an experience in any hotel in India, where you have to pay the full amount before checking in. The hotel is newly constructed and the facilities listed in their brochure are yet to be made operational. The rooms looked good with clean white linen, towels and toiletries. Room 104, which I had occupied was relatively smaller to Room 107 which was occupied by the other couple in my group. The bathroom did not have a dry area and was smelly throughout. They gave us a liter of mineral water, a few sachets of coffee and tea as complimentary items. They wouldn't supply any free drinking water. If two of us wanted more than a liter a day we would have to pay Rs.40/- per bottle.

The complimentary breakfast consists of limited items (the usual idly, poori, upma etc) brought from outside and served only between 8 and 9 am. Coffee & tea were served in tiny paper cups. They do not have a restaurant, but they buy it for us on ordering from the menu of a particular hotel, which we did one night and did not enjoy at all. Vehicles are not allowed to be parked in front of the hotel, but only in the basement and to reach the basement you will have to drive half a kilometer through a narrow winding bumpy alley guided by the security. Overall the experience was disappointing. I felt that the room was not worth the money. I would recommend it only if there wasn't something better.
