General South Indian Channels

Hi,i am here now because of the worst cinematic serials which are showing in some telugu channels  Zee Telugu and Maa.Firstly, I can talk about Zee Telugu.Eversince from my child hood I dont see this serials type of serials which are played in Zee.All are out of the box serials.I am really wondering by who can made these type of serials.I have a question on these serials.Is they dont have any Music Director.Then why they are always copy the BackGroungMusic of movies, is really I dont know.Another thing is the overaction of the artists.Is they dont know how to act.Then why is this overaction.Basically,ladies are the only people who likes serials.But they dont like these cinematic revenge based serials.They always like the old stereo-type serials not this artificial coated ones.Now we talk about another channel Maa.Dont fear it is slightly better than Zee.They play some Rom-Coms.They play some dubbing serials also.These serials are far better than Zee serials.Even Maa also plays some cinematic type serials.They are really annoying.Even my parents also hesitates by the overaction serials.One thing I am seriously requesting is please stop that bad overaction.

A few decades ago, I guess there were only about few South Indian Channels.  And since I belong of Tamil nadu, the Tamil Channel I new wer Sun TV, Raj TV and DD Podhigai.  I dont remember there were more than 2 Telugu or Kanada Channels and they were very limited.

Today, uh, i dont think we can actually count the no. of Channels.  Every politician in the country including the latest Industrialist and educationalists have started there Channel for promoting their name and to take out thier rivalries.

If I would Take Tamil Channels, I guess now their are over 100 channels varying from Music, movies, comedies, Spritual, Lifestyle, news and so on.

Some of the top best Tamil Channel I know now are - Sun TV, Vijay TV, Jaya TV, Raj TV, Kalaingnr tv and so on. And these are the main first Channel and then comes their Sister Channels like - Ktv, Jaya movies for movies, Isai Aruvi, sun music, raj musix for New songs, Murasu, Sun life, jaya max for old songs, Siripoli, Adithya for comedies, Polimer new, sun news, Jaya news, raj news and so on for News.

Their are lot more new innovative channels like Peppers TV, Mega tv, Vasanth Tv, Vendhar Tv which are actually owned and run by some Famous industrialist and former politicians.

No only this the other Language channels also have the same configuration like Gemini Tv. Gemini Music, Maa TV, Maa music, ETv, karali Tv, Vanitha TV for ladies, TV5, Asianet and so on.  There are uncountable number of South Indian Channel which in fact makes the viewers to go even most confused on which Channel to Select.

New even new type of Channels for Spritual and dubbed TV have come up like Angel TV, Moon TV, Shivam Tv for Religious and Spirituality and Discovery tamil, history tamil for people who dont understand the American and foreign English Languages. But the problems is -

• Thou Today a lots of South Indian Channels have come up, the Quality of Programs have reduced to almost nil.

  
  




• Out of over day 300 South Indian Channels, hardly about 20 Channels are most useful and air different Channel.  The shows I love are - Neeya naana(Vijay Tv), Both the tamil comedy channels, Some of the spritual and old song suitable for most of elders and discovery tamil.  But all other channel have the same stereo typed Programs which is very very boring.

  
  




• Even the Telugu Channels are most of the boring as they only host the hot girls and not the innovation.

  
  




• The too much Advertisement have also impacted the enjoyment of the south Indian Channels a lot!  It makes us to get bored and quit watching programs fast.

  
  




• Those days it was pure of programs.  Today everything aired on these TVs have most of the politics which is virus and not good.

  
  

Overall, thou today a lots of Regional Southern Tv Channels have come up, only a few are interesting and all other only do politics, especially the Music Channels and the News Channels.

I watched India - West Indies Series in Ten sports . If you 're from somewhere in north , you might just think whats strange in it ? But if you are a chennai guy ,you will ask me , "oh ! Did you have a Set Top Box ? "

Chennai has the dubious distinction of being the only place in India along with metro cities of Tamil Nadu , where the Conditional Access System (CAS)has been implemented by SCV (Subamangala Cable Vision ) . CAS was implemented in Chennai some two years back and since then neither has it been rolled out to other parts of India / Tamil Nadu, nor has it rolled back from Chennai.

Do you know, if you go to the outskirts of chennai they get all the 100 channels to watch…… strange isnt ? Really ita a dumb system ...

I first thought , when the system was first introduced "Surely they're joking ! Ha, the thing definitely can't last " . They've finally touched the common man where it hurts the most. Then the second thought arrives " Nobody is going to spend on Set Top Boxes. There'll be riots and they'll scrap it! Haha! "

Now I realise, what the common man.... no, ok the common woman.... ok the chennai woman... make that the chennai middle aged house-wife, actually cares about is the slot between 8.00 and 10.00 when she can happily contemplate how the next 200 episodes of a tamil serial gonna turn out. Its the poor souls like me, who miss watching the HBO,Star Movies and ten sports.

If you think I could have bought the set top box instead of grumbling, thats the point here...What I mean to say is why should we alone pay so many overheads when everyone else isn't. I have waited for some change in the CAS system .

I felt so bad after I missed India's Tour of Australia ,so I decided to buy the Set Top Box. It costs around Rs 3,600 and I have to buy the smart card deposit for that for Rs 400. I subscribed for SCV platinum , it comes Rs 230 per month and now I can watch all the pay channels and free air channels, but somehow I cant watch RAJ DIGITAL PLUS , WIN TV, TAMIZHAN TV . They are purposely blocking those free air channels .

But one thing with CAS is that it requires a one time investment on a set top box , but the clarity of relay is very good and people dont pay for channels that they otherwise wont watch. I think very few among my circle got Set Top Boxes. I feel pity for those who missed the historical chase of south Africa against Australia ,famous Ashes series in England . Somehow they relayed FIFA world cup with their courtesy tag.

After I got the SET TOP BOX , I seem a problem I have with my Television compatibility . Every Time when I mistakenly used my old remote , the relay goes off . Then I have to press the AV button to get back to the channel . I cant able to watch FIFA world cup matches through Set Top Box , because iam getting hindi commentery coupled with english in the background while the match is going. I just pulled out the cable point from the Set Top Box and just thought " What the damn thing is this. iam paying for every month for this . I just cant see a good relay .." . Chennai viewers might have experienced this...

After all, we have seen a change of Government, but the policy hasn't changed. Hoping the change will be optimistic to the point of foolishness.

While the intent of CAS was good.. Shoddy implementation has it made it worse for Chennai vaasis.

Someone stays 50 km away from the city gets all benefits , while you have to watch the free air channels .

Why does the Government impose such rules to Chennai city residents alone? If there is no need to buy Set Top Box for the entire country, what is the need for Set Top Boxes only in Chennai? For SCV's personal loss due to the import of Set Top Boxes why is the residents of Chennai punished?

Want to find a solution ? Just go and buy one for you...Coz you have no other option.

Talking about south indian channels, tamil holds more number of channels.  Malayalam holds five channels to their credit (Surya, Asianet, Kairali, Asianet Global and DD4) and tamil have a long list of channels with Sun TV, Jaya TV, KTV, DD Tamil, Raj TV, Vijay TV, Teja etc etc... and in both the case the channels promoted by SUN leads the viewership, mainly due to the fact that they are transmitted as DIGITAL channels.

KTV's main idea is to promote the channel with film based programmes, while SUN have a lot of mixtures.  About Malayalam channels, Asianet is just behind Surya, both the channels have very much appreciated serials like STHREE, MAKAL MARUMAKAL, Mayamma etc, and CPI promoted channel KAIRALI is picking up slowly.  Hope the people will benefit more coz of this cable channel war. best of luck.
