I grew up in the 80’s and I just loved the good old Heavy Metal bands from that decade. It took me awhile to get use to the new bands that are coming out today, that my children are now listening too. I heard of the group Kid Rock from a friend online that I chat with. He sent me a mp3 of Baw with the Baw a song from Kid Rocks CD. I listened to it, and I actually liked it. I therefore went out the next day and bought the CD for myself. My kids were happy I bought this CD cause they also liked this band as well.
My brother and his wife decided they were going to see Uncle Cracker in concert, but they were to be the warm up band for Kid Rock, so she called and asked me if I would like to go and if my husband would too. I said sure I will check him out in person and live and see if he still rocks like the CD I bought.
Kid Rock has had many people putting down his music, but I don’t listen to what others say. I feel I’m an adult and I can make my own decision when it comes to what kind of music I listen too. The CD had only 3 real good songs on them that I enjoyed, so I guess the CD wasn’t that bad for the price I paid for it. I don’t get into his real nasty songs, but his normal or what I call normal songs were ok to listen too. I liked the song I want to be a cowboy baby, and only God knows why. Don’t get me wrong here most of his lyrics to the other songs use a lot of profanity in them, so I kind of steer away from those songs.
The song “I want to be a cowboy” is really cool, I like the video even better. You will see little Arnold from Different Strokes in this video. He is still so cute. It’s more like a western video and the song is real cool and his voice just screams with enjoyment. The song is fast packed and you can really get up and dance along with this song. The lyrics are cool, not so bad.
The song “Only God knows why” gives you a different look into who Kid Rock really is. It show’s more of his sentimental side and his side were being famous isn’t always so great. I really like the lyrics to this song, and I love the way they change the “kids” voice with those synthesizers. This song is more mellow and not like the rest of his songs.
I just told you the 3 songs that I enjoy from Kid Rock, and now I will get onto the concert. The concert was packed; I didn’t think I would see many older people there since this band seemed to be drawing the younger crowds. I was so surprised when I seen there were older people at this concert then the younger ones. I guess I was wrong when I thought the KID just drew a younger audience. This made me feel better; I didn’t seem out of place now. Of course like most concerts you have those “girls” who like to take off their shirts and throw them on stage along with their bra, and you have those who just like to rush the stage and try to get up there along side the singer. Yes even at this concert you had people doing this.
Kid Rock has his girls there who would dance on stage in a cage for the people to watch, NO they didn’t take off any cloths, but they did wear just a bathing suit. The crowd was noisy as normal, and there wasn’t really that much bad things going on like I seen at other concerts. It seemed pretty well down to earth, but it sure did rock. The Kid Rock done a tribute to his brother JC who died a few months before his concert in PA. He had a big banner above the stage with his picture on it, and an American flag flying above. I liked it when Kid Rock just sat down on his chair and started to sing a song called “if I were the President”. This was so funny and I laughed the whole way through it. When the concert was over, or so we thought it was, Kid Rock came rolling onto the stage on his motorcycle. This was wild! Everyone started to scream and cheer and the liters all light up around the floors and the seats. The Kid then done one more song and it was his last one of the night, and it was “I want to be a cowboy baby.”
I have to say that I did enjoy this concert, and I did like the KID and I do like Uncle Cracker as well. The concert was worth the $30.00 I paid for each ticket. The only thing that really wasn’t so great was the price you had to pay for a shirt or even a poster. The food was outrageous and so were the drinks. All in all I had a great time and so did everyone else who was with us. I have found new respect for this band now.
