D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless N 300 AD
Dec 18, 2017 12:35 AM 3120 Views

I have been using this modem for 3 months now. No problems so far .It has good range . I get wifi signal at a room about 10-15 meters away from where the modem is placed(about half the strength). The configuration part was also a walk in the park.very easy. No heating problem. Even after continuous heavy use(about 7hr), it only heats up moderately. So guys go for it.

Average product and worst customer service ever!
Aug 29, 2017 05:27 PM 7229 Views

I got the new version of Dlink DSL 2750U(Ver 2) which claims to be the improved version of the previous one. I bought it from a retail shop for 2200 INR. From the first day onwards the product started showing some strange things. Even if the phone line is clear, the DSL light wont stays for more than 10 minutes and I faced frequent connection loss.

I thought it's the issue with the ISP. I contacted BSNL, which is my ISP and asked them to come and take a look at the issue. They came and checked the phone line once more and made sure that there is no issue by testing the connection with their modem. It worked fine and they said it is the issue with my new modem. I searched for possible measures and tweaks such as changing the modulation, DNS etc to solve the issue, but nothing really worked out. So I gave the modem for replacement at the shop where I purchased it. They said the new modem will be available within a week.

So I waited and finally got the modem. I checked the serial number and MAC of the modem and it was same as the old one. I connected it and the wifi name was not DLink which is the default one. So, basically instead of replacement what the service was done is replacing the faulty circuit board with a repaired board which god only knows how old it is. I contacted the retail and said this issue and they said it's fine and it's the way Dlink does the service. I lost the temper and asked them to replace the modem or I will be moving to consumer court for further assistance. One day later they called me and apologized for the bad service and gave me a new modem. Now it's working fine.

The modem comes with a dual antenna, hence the wifi coverage is better.

There is no heating issue or random restarts.

wall mounting the modem will be better to see the indicator lights because it is on the top of the modem.

There is no USB port

Sometimes it needs a restart to function normally after being used for a day or two.

In conclusion, the product quality is somewhat average

and the customer service is the worst.

Now onwards I won't be recommending Dlink products at all to anyone.

D-Link must have router in home
Aug 05, 2017 05:16 PM 7016 Views (via Mobile)

I have a D-Link DSL 2750U wireless router for about a year now. It's been working as good as new till now. I purchased it for about 2500 and it has a very good range for connecting from one room to another. It has good connectivity all over your house.

It has a speed of upto 300 Mbps which is very good. It has a encryption security ranges from 5 variations. I personally use the WPA2 encryption security.

The modem link page can be customised in many ways. It is very easy to setup. Also it has feature to enable or disable some of the features.

I'm using this router day and night it gets heated up but the performance you get is the same without any lag. You can use this modem without switching it off for a long time. It's worth the price and can satisfy and you won't be disappointed with this modem.

This modem is suggested to all go and bye if you are looking for a good modem in your house.

D-link 2750 u is a wireless router plus ADSL modem which I had bought 2 years back. Till now it's working condition is amazing and is with the money. Speed upto 300Mbps is such a nice technical specification this modern is having. It also has wireless wifi connectivity with super good encryption. It's encryption security ranges upto 5 variations such as WPA, WEP, WEP-PSK 2 etc. The modem link page is super customizable. We can enable and disable handful features. Even after looking period of heavy usage it hearts up, bit never showed a bit performance lag. Such a nice modem. worth for price. Till now I am using the same, and I am happy with it. If you are having 3000 INR, the go ahead and buy this one surely if you are planning get one. Hopefully you will not be disappointed at all. Such a overwhelming performance. Lasts till the end of a day from morning till night. 2 Antennas of that router can expand your range of wifi for your entire house. You can browse from anywhere inside your house. So safe and such a nice connectivity.

Suggesting you all this with a positive bliss.

Thank you

I received this product from Amazon without a scratch, and in time. Now I would like to clear some of the doubts that arise in your mind after reading all the negative reviews on this beautiful product.

This device replaced my 4 year old Netgear DGN1000 N-150 Modem / Wi-Fi Router, two days ago, after it started to malfunction due to a lightening strike near my place. The D-Link DSL-2750U ADSL2+ Modem / N 300 Wi-Fi Router is a bang on the buck. Here's why:

1) I purchased the device for Rs. 1, 890/-(incl. quick delivery charge), and at that price, it is a steal! I would have purchased it even at its usual price, for it is the most in-expensive combo device by one of the most reliable brands.

2) In the box, you get a meter long telephone cable, and a Cat 5e patch cable, an ADSL splitter, the setup disc, warranty booklet, and a quick setup guide. I have put the splitter, telephone patch cable, and the setup disc to use while setting up the device with my desktop computer, and they all work PERFECTLY! Setting up my BSNL DSL connection using the setup wizard has never been so easy. You simply have to provide the details the wizard prompts you for, and you will be good to go!

3) It is extremely light weight, and it does NOT feel plasticy or cheap. The glossy finish on the top of the device makes it look more attractive.

4) The device is in "ON" state since I configured it yesterday, and there has absolutely been no glitch of any sort with its operations. Both, Wi-Fi, and DSL connections have been VERY stable so far.

5) I have a CCTV Network DVR at home that stays ON 24*7, which means my Internet connection has to remain in ON condition at all times in order to feed it the network connection for remote monitoring. Heating becomes a major issue in such conditions, and I keep monitoring the temperature of the device quite often. The device gets hot, but not as hot as my Netgear Modem / Router used to get despite it being only an N-150 device. I don't entirely blame the device for getting hot because I don't keep the room well ventilated. I can say with confidence that it produces much lesser heat in a well ventilated room; especially in AC environment.

6) Wi-Fi signal strength - I live in a 30' x 40' house, and my computer and all of my gadgets are on the first floor house(not duplex). I can easily stream videos in my ground floor house and stream my live CCTV feed from almost all the places at home. We have a whole ceiling mould to consider for the WiFi signal to penetrate, and then we have several concrete walls also. I get at least 2 lines of signal strength throughout my place. So yes, it is pretty good, and I cannot ask for more from it!

7) Configuring Firewall, Port Forwarding, LAN configuration making Wireless settings, etc have all been really easy. Of-course I have more than basic amount of networking knowledge, but which beginner would want to meddle with port forwarding and other such features without its knowledge? I don't see what it is that made some people here complaint about the user interface of the device's stock firmware. I assure you it is not as bad as some people here portray it.

I cannot really comment about D-Link support, as I'm new to it. Hopefully with this device, I don't have to contact them.

There can only be three kinds of people who complaint here.

a) Noobs - they have less - zero knowledge about technology, but they take a shot at reviewing it anyway.

b) Pros - they buy a consumer level product and complaint about its lack of features for professional use.

c) Unfortunate buyers - they have genuine complaints, but their cry is over-shadowed by(a) and(b)'s reviews.

Best Router By D-Link !!!
Apr 10, 2017 01:10 PM 6871 Views

It is a very good Router+Modem. With Its 2 Antenna the strength of the signal is very good. I bought this product from Store and has been using it since one and half year. Really impressed with the product's quality and durability. Its Functioning is best as compared to other products of other company like Asus, tenda and other companies.

Its has many functions like On/off switch. Other features like DSL link and LAN display light which makes it a most amazing product.

I recommend This great product to everyone. All The way the product is above average.

Good product

Common complaints and TGW(things gone wrong):

  1. Range is poor: this is common in tall apartments where they use thick concrete and that means more energy is lost by the Wifi signal

working its way through walls.

It is not advisable to increase the antenna height / power which will be injurious to health in the long run due to radiations(there are laws which

govern this).

Solution: Use it in a central location of your house( preferably hooked to a ceiling in your living room) or if your house is so large

and you have range issues don't fall for multi non detachable antenna routers(detachable antenna routers are costly), they are useless, instead

buy one modem+Router and one Router without modem which will be inter-connected using LAN cable to increase WI-FI range your budget will

be less than 3000 INR with excellent range in any corner.

  1. Overheats / Poor performance / DSL lost frequently: This happens with all cheap modems because they weren't designed to work 24X7.

Offices use a different router(Switches) which has a very good cooling system but not anywhere near to affordable for a household point of use.

Solution: If your ISP supports you with consistent internet then buy a cooling fan(12 Volt cooling fans available for a throw-away 200 INR or

extract one from a dead PC at home). I used my old PC cooling fan with my old dead Modem's 12V adapter for

powering this, some tapes and ducts(refer picture) and you have an efficient 24X7 working modem free of interruptions with an efficient cooling

system.

  1. If you use ACT or similar fiber-net then buying this modem is probably costing you more because you paid for the DSL part( the modem)

which you will never use!. Search for a wireless router only( not a MODEM+ router). Saves you as much as twice the money.

  1. USB Hard-disk failure/ Router USB performance issues: now things can get nasty if you leave a normal external HDD running 24X7. get a self

powered Hard disk with cooler/ install the DIY cooler with PC cooling fans. If you cannot afford a self powered HDD with cooling system then its

logical to use a pen-drive of good capacity instead.

The above will ensure that your modem/router will last for terabytes of happy downloading, surfing and uploading.

Good to involve the ISP in the set up though
Sep 20, 2016 11:52 AM 6851 Views (via Mobile)

Works well, setup is fairly simple using the CD supplied, though getting through to the ISP proved the toughest part. Good to involve the ISP in the set up though. Find that the internet connectivity at home is better with this device than with our previous beetel old router. On the whole, good product, we are happy

Stable ADSL Modem ever
Jun 29, 2016 12:13 AM 8649 Views (via Mobile)

I actually had this a number of years ago but forgot to post a review about it.No heat issue even for switch on for 14-15 hours every day.

It is pretty rare to have all 3 technologies in 1 router device - a modem, a switch, and wireless access point. It was a bit power hungry but at least it meant less components to deal with which means more convenient for space constraints and aesthetics.

Wireless feature is quite good with well range. The does of course mean that if one part of it breaks, you will likely have to replace the entire thing.

A good ADSL Modem Router..Go for it
Jun 28, 2016 06:06 PM 7647 Views

So, I was for a long time on MTNL ADSL Broadband, before switching to excitel.

For a couple of years, initially, I was using the router provided by MTNL along with the connection. Good part if you accept their router you dont have to pay anything, not even security, but here is the catch you would be charged a rental of Rs 60-70 approx per month(rent for 2012-13, might have changed).

So after using it I felt like im doing injustice to myself by paying for it. I returned their modem back and bought the D-link DSL-2750U(for around Rs 2000). A piece of advice, D-link makes the best available routers out there. Having double antenna was definitely a plus. A myth surrounded to this multi antenna models is that it doubles the range, but as I said that's a myth. Yes it does increase the range but only about 20%. Advantage of double antenna is that one of it serve for catching command, that is the one you send to the server from your device, while the other sends it to the device from the server. This reduces load on the antenna and thus provide better efficiency.

Range was quite good my whole house was being covered(it was placed in the center of the house). I could use my net a floor above and below too. So all in all this router is very comprehensive one with fact that it has WPS and a USB port, in which you can connect your storage devuce and use it as a cloud. If you are having an ADSL connection, likes of BSNL, MTNL, Airtel, then this router is a for sure device for you.

Hope you found this helpful.

Good but little expensive
Apr 02, 2016 09:17 AM 7747 Views

I had to take a mtnl connection and they were asking for rent of wifi modem so I decided to purchase a new wifi modem itself.

I opted for Dlink wifi modem because of its brand name among customers. I bought it for 1550 from janakpuri and installed it, installation and setup was very easy, anyone can install it. dlink wifi modem is working very good it gives the signal in my whole apartment it is of 100 yards even outside.

Connects with phone and laptop instantly there are no heating issues in modem. Overall experience with dlink is quite good I will recommend it. But it is a little bit of expensive as compared with other brands like tenda etc. but there is no such difference.

Buy first, thank me later!

Any word cannot justify this little gem of a router made by D-Link. If you are looking for a router which you need for broadband connection, look no further. BUY this. It is available at the online stores in a price range of Rs. 1700-1900/-. Comes with 2 antennas which provides wi-fi signals to almost 70 metres in diameter around your house. Signals will also be available on the ground floor if you install this router on the 5th floor. Just insert the CD provided and follow the instructions and you are good to go. Can connect atleast 5 devices with wirelessly.

If you need a router to work for 24x7x365.  THIS IS IT.

N.B. - This router won't work with the broadband connection provided by the cable-wallas

D-Link-the link will never Disconnect..!
Dec 01, 2015 01:44 PM 8260 Views

I am using BSNL broadband service at my home place. There are plenty of companies selling Modem+Router but I found some good review about D-link so I purchased it.The modem suits perfectly with BSNL broadband service.I placed modem at the center of my home and it covers around 20 meter of area radially.I am using it for 1.5 year but till date I had no any issue

The modem is having one RJ-11 port for WAN connection which is basically the lince cable coming from ISP end.It consists of 4 LAN port through which we can connect up to 4 computers simultaneously. It is having WPS switch for turnning on/off wifi if needed then.It is having double antenna which provides seamless connectivity for mobile or laptop. While connecting to internet we must keep our modem in PPPOE mode otherwise we can not connect modem if we configure it in Bridge mode that one must keep in mind.

I am Very Happy With This Wireless Tool
Nov 28, 2015 09:21 PM 8984 Views

When for the first time I was thinking to purchase wifi machine for my home, my engineer suggested me to purchase D-Link DSL -2750U.

The cost of this machine is little bit higher than the other wifi instruments of same company or other companies. But it worth it. The network is very powerful. When I go to my friend's home or office of others I can feel my machine is definitely better than theirs. My home is a three storied building. My connection is in first floor, but I can easily access network from ground floor and second floor also, I shall definitely recommend others to purchase this model when they need a wifi tool.

D - 'perfect' - link
Nov 28, 2015 08:31 PM 7736 Views

After trying 3 modems in the period of 3 years, I finally gave this a shot. I ordered one from Flipkart and the first thing I noticed after setup was the increased signal strength as well as a better coverage than my previous iBall(which I just bought because it had dual antenna).

The coverage is just amazing. Its working perfect at first floor, being setup at ground floor. But the choice was made because of the print server option.

But before digging into settings for print server, it started giving problems and I returned it. And ordered again from Amazon.

This time again, I couldn't find the option to set up print server. So I mailed the Dlink Customer Service and after their prompt reply, I proceeded further with the settings and within few minutes my HP printer was networked, to what-I-would-call home network. It eased up my work of carrying the laptop to the printer each time I needed to print.

Forgot to say, I connected my printer to the available usb port at the back of the modem The usb port can be used to connect the dongles as well as hard disks(didn't try it though) It has been 15 days and there has been no connection dropouts. The single problem which I am facing right now is viewing my CCTV cameras, which I can't figure out where I am doing it wrong. misconfigured settings of course Rather than that, the modem is excellent and very economical. I got it at Rs. 1900/-

[Update 18-04-2017]

I needed to call their customer service again. My modem was getting internet connectivity(as my PC showed) but my mobile apps weren't because mobile was registering a "limited" connectivity. So, mailed them the details. I got a reply, next day with the telephone support helpline for instant solution.

With such a weird reply, I wasn't much hopeful but the lady on the other side corrected the settings almost instantly. It took 10 minutes or so, after sharing my PC through TeamViewer. And yes, I didn't have to wait to talk with the technical support executive. It was a wait of less than a minute!

Range of the Router is just amazing
Nov 06, 2015 10:22 PM 8288 Views

Good Modem, I bought deep cool Laptop cooling fan from Amazon 500 Rs/- So I place the Modem on the fan(shown in the Picture) It's running 24/7 no heating problem. Modem range is too Good My Mobile Detects 70 meters near from Home and I am in 2nd floor all my mobile devices detected in ground floor. 20 days Passed no issues but the configuration cd not worked for me. I configured manually otherwise good modem and good range .Go for it.

Signal comes to around 30-40 meters.or even more.i assume. But gets heated alot.even if you keep any object on it, even the object gets heated too.and during rain it goes to red.i think it's my broadband problem.sorry.! Anyways it is.very nice speed browsing.satisfied.

An excellent product
Oct 30, 2015 02:30 PM 7650 Views

I purchased this wifi router through amazon.in almost two years ago. The delivery was in time as promised and the product was packed nicely.  It has been giving an excellent service both in terms of speed and continuity of service. The product has not let me down even for once in last two years.

The installation is also extremely easy and simple and any person having little knowledge of computers can do so. The router has a good range and gives a good coverage of my 1800 sft house.

Speedy, broader range and economical
Oct 06, 2015 06:42 PM 7835 Views

I am a working woman who works online from home, so I wanted a broadband connection with high speed and data. I searched it out in Google and then I ordered D Link wireless from Flipkart at Rs 1100 going by almost all positive reviews. It was delivered within few days and then after proper installation and data plan I found the speed to be very good.

The range is also good which means it can be used in whole building and nearby. It would not give range to the nearby societies for that need to take higher ranger wireless modem but it fits apt to my requirement. It was easy to install, economical and there has been no complaints since its installation. Recommend to all broadband users.
