Hands and Feet as SOFT as Face!! Check this out!!
Dec 24, 2018 12:55 PM 695 Views

Not going much into reasons as to why we face dry hands and feet problems, let us directly jump into the tips!

Note: Be it summer or winter, hands and feet tend to dry due to high or low temperatures, so care should be taken equally during all sorts of seasons and weathers.

Tips for dry feet or cracked heels:

Firstly, wash your feet. Not simply washing under the tap, instead try this: Fill 2/3rd of your bucket with luke warm water, add few drops of rock salt into it and let your feet sit in the bucket for 5 minutes. you will see the water color changes into brown color that is because salt takes away the dirt present under your feet.

Next step, dry your feet with towel, and now apply a very thick moisturizer or oil or butter to your feet and massage it for at least 5 minutes each. I apply lavender oil, Mango butter(Juicy chemistry brand), Vaseline or almond oil alternatively depending on my mood.:) You can choose any of these products to nourish your feet. All these products are very affordable. Just choose one and use it regularly for best results.

Note: DO NOT FORGET TO WEAR SOCKS AND SLEEP

Eventually, you feet will heal and you can notice the softness and smoothness under your feet.

Tips for Dry hands:

Firstly wash your hands using a mild cleanser( I use milk and turmeric mixture religiously)

Secondly, apply a similar moisturizer that you applied on your feet( I prefer almond oil most of the times)

Gloves-OPTIONAL

Do these steps before going to bed and wake up with the most softer hands and feet and you shall love it!

NO PRODUCTS NEEDED TO BUY< JUST USE YOUR KITCHEN STUFF!

Manicure at home...
Jun 20, 2012 10:10 AM 7753 Views

More than 50% of our daily work is done by hands. How much do we really care for them? A good manicure is really important especially for women. Let me tell you some simple steps to have a good manicure right at home:

Remove any polish stains on your nails.

Soak your fingernails in a hot bowl of water for 5-10 mins.

Cut your nails up to the length you want.

Shape your nails using a filer.

Apply cuticle oil on your fingers.

Gently push the cuticles on your fingernail back using the flat end of a cuticle pusher.

Apply lotion just on your hands & not your nails.

Apply double coat of nail polish and a neutral layer to help the polish stay for long.

To keep your hands soft and protected, wear gloves when working.

For the cuticle oil, I use olive oil and for the moisturizer, I apply Parachute advanced body lotion summer fresh. Since it has mint and coconut milk, it keeps my skin hydrated and cool.

Avocado Oil... nature's gift to women
Nov 16, 2008 02:31 AM 8637 Views

Such a simple remedy for dry skin, hair, wrinkles.

Use avocado oil for all dryness needs. Even used it once a month on your hair ends(Put hair in a pony tail and rub the tail portion in the oil and keep it like that for a few hours. Wash out with shampoo and condition like normal).

I rub it on my face around my eyes each night;  I rub it into my hands and feet then I put on socks and walk around so. it absorbs into the skin so well that you don't feel greasy afterward. It was gentle enough for all my babies' sensitive skin and helped prevent diaper rashes by rubbing just a bit on their adorable posteriors after a bath.

I buy it at my local drugstore in the essential oil section. It is available online at generic natural food and products websites for very reasonable prices. Avocado oil meant for cooking food is more expensive. I have cooked with it, but found extra virgin olive oil much better for that purpose.

It can be heated up and rubbed in for a more relaxing massage, or a hot-oil treatment for hair. It's appeal is mainly in the fast absorption, but also that it does not smell bad. You could even put in a few drops of rose oil or lavender oil if you wished to make it an aroma-therapy session, or to bottle it prettily and give as a gift.

One more tip: for dark circles under the eyes try applying a little pure tea-tree oil. Be Warned: the vapors sting quite  bit; you're eyes will water for several seconds, even just applying it to the skin. It works, though, and also keep away the bugs. Really.

I finally found something that works!
Jun 20, 2007 10:21 AM 7829 Views

Arbonne's RE9 anti-aging body serum & body lotion are wonderful for cracked/dry feet!  You have to try it.  Although, I have a friend who says that their Intelligence Foot Cream is what works for her.  I had extremely dry feet.  I used many prescription lotions for the past 2 yrs. none of them worked.  The Arbonne body set did work wonderfully.  I can finally wear sandals and not feel self-conscious.  I also love the smell of it.  The company is wonderful.

They don't use the harsh chemicals that other cmpanies use.  They also have Vegan products.  You have to give it a chance.  They even have FREE samples.  Just try it I know you'll love it.  I also use the body serum and lotion on my children.  They have exzema and when they get sick, it gets really bad.  I just put the Arbonne body care on their exzema patches and it goes right away.  If your interested go to my friends website:  https://lauriemecham.myarbonne.com

Simple and easy
Feb 17, 2004 03:08 PM 6737 Views

I thought I can throw some tips for dry feets. It is like pedicure but its not always economical and convinient to go to beauty parlour and get it done.

We can do simple things regularly at home rather than be irregular and then hop in the parlour to do the complicated things:)

For dry and cracked feet:

  • Before you begin do your nails

Take warm water in a water tub. Add liquid soap/ shampoo/ dettol(if u have). Soak your legs in it for sometime. This will make you feel relieved. Will help for your pain too.

Take a scrubber/ a soft brush to rub on your feet and on soles. This will help all the dirt to come out. Rub on cracks to remove the accumulated dirt. It will become easy due to soaking them in soapy water.

You can also use nailcutters filers to remove dirt from the corners of nail and even the dead skin.

After sometime you can remove your feet and dry them with towel. Apply moisturiser or it may sound awkward but oil, yes coconut oil on your feet. This will help the cracks and dryness.

-

Do this initially twice a week and then make it weekly to fight cracks and dryness.

You can also do this before some event like wedding or some party. Will make your feet look yound and clean.(Can apply nail paint suiting skin texture)

I hope it helps.

Dry as a desert
Feb 15, 2004 04:22 PM 6161 Views

As I have aged my skin went from oily to very dry. The worst time of the year for me is winter. My hands and feet get so dry that they crack and sometimes bleed.

I started trying different things to help this condition and now can get through winter with no problems.

For the feet I start by soaking them in warm water with a little bit of epsom salts. This is a very old product and can easily be found in supermarkets and department stores. It is also good for achy feet as well and is very soothing. I soak for about 20 minutes.

The I carefully dry my feet by blotting with a towel, not rubbing but just blotting. I then take a product made by Doctor Scholls called apricot scrub. It is especially made for your feet. It smells exactly the word apricot implies. It has tiny granules in it.

You massage this in your feet and then let it set for another 20 minutes. You can then take a dry towel and literally rub off the dead dry skin. It is that easy.

You may need to repeat this several times at first, once each day until your feet feel smooth again and then once a week will keep them that way.

For dry chapped or cracked skin on the hands I use Neutrogena cream that comes in a tube. They have other formulas but this is the only one that works for me. Just apply it after washing dishes or having your hands in the water for long periods of time and it is great. I first tried this when my knuckles were cracked open and bleeding and within 3 days my hands were totally healed so use it every day to prevent any further problems.

Try to keep your hands out of harsh cleaning products and such by wearing rubber gloves while performing these tasks as all these chemicals are very drying and bad for your skin.

Feet & Hands
May 18, 2003 09:04 PM 6267 Views

I have very dry skin and I have learned to take care of my skin, toes and hands. I am also allergic to many products so I must be very careful what I use.

~O FEET O~

OUR FEET ARE THE MOST NEGLECTED PART OF OUR BODY:

Did you know that by the time you are 50 years old you will have walked 124, 000 kilometres/75, 000 miles? That's more than walking the circumference of the World more that 3 times!

It's fortunate that our feet were designed to take all of this stress.

Each foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles. That means 1/4 of our body is in one foot!

Each foot has 250, 000 sweat glands that take up to a ½ a pint of water out of our body each day.

The Sun, (even in the Winter), can cause your skin to dry out. Please use a sun screen that has at least a 15 SPF, (Sun Protection Factor), on your face, legs and arms once a day/

WHAT I DO:

I have very hard nails so I have to cut them before I can make them smooth by filing them. I cut and file them straight. If I don't do this I get an ingrown toe nail and that hurts a lot.

I used to use a cream that was water based but I find that it was not strong enough to remove the calluses. I never use a callus scraper because once you do you get more of them. I use a product called Bag Balm, (in Canada you can by it at a Drug Store), and it is sold in Stores that sell products for Animals. If I am on a beach I walk a lot on the sand because it's a natural way of removing the calluses.

I find that if I take to many baths my skin gets drier. I love baths so I do take one once a week and put a little Epson Salts and Baby Oil into to it.

When I shower I use an Avon Bath wash and after I get out of the bath or shower, (before I apply the Bag Balm), I use an Avon Body Cream.

I use to push back my cuticles and clip my hangnails off. I learned long ago that I shouldn’t be clipping my hangnails as it caused a few infections. I just heard that I shouldn't be pushing my cuticles back because I have lost ½ inch of this protective skin.

I have one ugly toe because I have onychomysosis. It's not painful but I don't like the thought of having fungus growing under my toe. There is an expensive treatment that only lasts a year so I soak this toe in tea tree oil twice a day.

I wear low shoes that fit properly and that stops be from getting bunions, corns and calluses.

~O HANDS O~

I cut my nails short, (strait across), and then file then to make them smooth.

If I have any stains on my fingers I cut off a 1/4 of a lemon and rub my skin until the stain is gone.

I soak my hands in Dishpan soap before I give myself a manicure. I don't cut my cuticles or push them back. I do clean the guck under my nails

I finish my manicure by buffing my nails. Then I put on an Avon Hand Cream and the Bag Balm. I apply both up my arms as well.

~O MY CONCLUSION O~

I hope this review was helpful to you.

Comments are always welcome.
