Peace will come in pieces!
Feb 17, 2017 08:12 PM 1426 Views (via Mobile)

Peace is really high price now, everyone is violent and have gun, and some of country are totally not a mankind at all.

I don't think it will ever change, they are aggressive enough to kill people, I dont know what they found to kill people, even though they said, it gives them pleasure to kill people.

This is how Islamic countries do now a days, that is horrible, how innocent people still survive in Syria and iraq and waiting till they found by American, if they found by jihadi, they should be dead or raped.

well peace is come in pieces, all I will pray for humanity, that's it.

anyplace on earth India
Pakisthan cannot feel for india till kashimir .
Aug 04, 2010 08:48 PM 27863 Views

I am not defending neither pakisthans foreign policy nor studying on Indian policy on kahsmir issue and relationship with pakisthan.

WE DON'T HAVE A SINGLE POLITICIAN OR OFFICIAL TO SOLVE TERROR FROM PAKISTHAN.

WHY PAK BEHAVES LIKE THIS.

As an indian we are forced to think what happened after 1947 when Britishers left India free geographically and divided india in to three parts. One as pakisthan two pakisthan with east bengal. Third india from himachal pradesh to kanyakumari along with 650 independent but dependent under British.

Kahsmir accession with india by the request letter from the king of kashimir. BRITISHERS DID NOT INCLUDE KASHMIR AS PART OF INDIA AND KASHMIR WAS INDEPENDENT ALSO.

independant kashmir was a great lure for pakisthan to attack and incorporate with pakisthan.

IT MUST HAVE BEEN WELL PLANNED BY PAKISTHAN SOON THEY GOT INDEPENDENCE.

But the events moved slowly and there was enough time for king of kashmir to contact india for help and the demand of indian govt headed by congress politicians was they felt kahsmir must also be included as part of indias freedom struggle hence natural feel to feel kashmir as part of india.

PAKISTHAN COULD NOT DEMAND KASHMIR AS PART OF PAK BECAUSE KASHMIR WAS NOT PART OF BRITISH EMPIRE.

To detail the entire event takes tons of pages hence I refrain from going with the time but now come back to present for realistic solution.

KASHMIRS FEEL THEY WANT INDEPENDANCE FROM INDIA.

Struggle for this has been taking place since 1948 by kashmiris and pakisthan has been encouraging it also, the reason why pak encourage is they feel india will be deprived of a strategic point and also kashmir being a muslim country natural affinity will take place.

TRUTH IS KASHMIRIS ARE TOTALLY DIFFRENT FROM NEITHER INDIANS NOR WITH PAK.

Much of kashmiri muslims were converted from Hindu religion this date back centuries back but this issue is not at al important, what is most important is Muslim kashmiris had accepted Hindu king is something dificutl to belive.

OPEN HEARTED DISCUSSION WITH PAKISTHAN IS MUCH NEEDED OR ELSE KASHMIR WILL BURN.

Today the violence that is taking place in kashmir may be influenced with the help of pakisthan but the result will be too serious for india as a whole.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WHOLE OF KASHMIRIS FIGHT LIKE PALESTAINIANS.

Palestainians are waging war agaisnt isreal since 1948 the same year kashmiris also doing with india.

INDIA IS TOO RICH AND WE CANT DESTROY INDIA FOR THE SAKE OF KASHMIR ISSUE.

Mere dialogue to convince pak or kashmiris wont help at all, more u try to give easy monetary help to kashmiri politicians will trigger much enemity to majoirty of kashmiris.

EVEN POLITICIANS HAVE FEEL FOR INDEPENDANT KASHMIR.

Kashmir politicians are grudgingly accepting the benefits offered by indian govt be it congress or Bjp most of these decades india has no problem with kashmir citizens thanks to free flow of aid to kashimr.

WHAT NEXT, IF CURFEW IN KASHMIR IS BEYOND CONTROL.

Indian army will have to enter and once indian army attack the violators of curfew tens of thousands of innocent kashmiris will die.

TENS OF THOUSNAD KASHIMIRIS DEATH WILL BRING PAK INTO WAR FRONT WITH INDIA.

Whole of muslim world nation will feel something seriously wrong happening and they will demand from

india justice.

WE HAVE TO ANSWER THREE, ONE PAK, KASHMIRIS AND MUSLIM NATIONS.

Here I find fault with our diplomats, politicians and present congress leaders.

once again india has got not a single politician to defend indian action, policy on kashmir acceptble by

world I mean.

CHINA SUPPORTS KASHIMIR INDEPENDANCE AND RUSSIA IS FOR INDIA AND USA IS ON FENCE.

1 Situation is far serious and if the war takes place between india and pakisthan it will be ten times more

deadly than what happened in the year 1971.

2 Pak feels integration of pak states is by fighting for the cause of kashimir independance.

3 Arms selling country Russia, china, England and usa will be happy with at least one trillion dollar.

4 We have to avoid war with pakisthan, most of indians think now this time it is easy to beat Pakisthan

weak country can fight reckelessly, muslim spirit and muslim nations joining with pak can bring lot of

serious economic problem and india will not gain much if we win the war with pak.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF TOTAL WAR WITH PAK TAKE PLACE AND HOW LONG IT WILL LAST.

War prediction is not easy to answer, spirit to wage war, spirit to defend india must be credible and our political leaders rather go to enjoy at aborad than speak dialouge with pak and war with pak.

MY SOLUTION.

1 Declare with pak no war pact and india should offer total economic trade with pak.

2 Declare pak as most favored nation with india for all aspect.

3 JOIN with pakisthans need at all front, pak is much poor nation and india must open its eyes.

4 Our MP members each must be totally informed of the history of freedom and kashmir issue from

1948

5 Amendment to our constitution is must otherwise india just cant compromise with pak on any issue.

OUR CONSTITUTION HAS THIS WEAKNESS THERE IS NO COMPROMISE FOR BORDER ISSUE.

ANY ONE WHO COMPROMISE WILL BE A TRAITOR AND LIABLE FOR PUNISHMENT THAT IS THE REASON INDIA IS UNABLE TO SOLVE KASHMIR PROBLEM.

LET OUR MPS TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUS BEFORE INDIA AND PAK BURN WITH WAR GAME.

Since ten years indians are living very comfortbly and money is flowing so flood like but if war with pak take place the entire foreign money will go back and our positon will become very bad.

let each indian think how much kashmir is important for indias security and growth.

Listen to others, not just defend our own arguments made by past political leaders during 1948

krishnamenon could argue on kashmir accession in UNITED NATION TELL ME IF OUR PRIME MINISTER CAN ARGUE OR DEFEND, HE WILL BE LAUGHING STOCK REALLY BECASUE TO DEFEND ON KASHMIR ISSUE IT IS TOO DELICATE AND HAS TO BE LEGALLY NOT EMOTIONALLY.

My prediction is coming so near.

other day I read one columnist who wrote as each day pass, the tension between each state and ethnic problem is so rampant in pakisthan, Bangladesh dont have this problem but pakisthans inevitable end will be to join with main india.

There will demand from pakisthanis to join with india.

india doesnt belong to just congress or other political parties it is will be the people of india and indian constitution never come in the way of reunification of pak with india but the caution is ones they join with india no force on earth can change the terriotorial position of india, hence pak should try to ask for special status and also full indian citizenship for the entire pakisthanis with indians alike.

This will make pak strong and india strongest in the world next to usa or china.

Further to

when one think good the result will also become better. The partition that took place was really wrong, we fought for independance of the entire united india in the year 1947 and nothing less than it.WHO invented the idea of pakisthan and East pakisthan now really regret because the entire pakisthan and Bangladesh is in deep troubled water.

Muslim factor.

The history of the origins of pakisthanis and Bangladesh is india and I dont want to revive the factor of Hindu factor here at all.Indians should never be considered as Hindu india because india means joined differnt language speaking states to become as one country and it is working very good.At no other country indian type states based on languages are there so far it is going.

OTHER ALITERNATIVE FACTOR.

If pak totally adopts indian constitution as fast as possible then it becomes part of india that is what every pak also wont mind.

What a woderfull situation that this centuy both from indian side to pak side there will be mix as one.

Mumbai Terror Attack 26/11
Dec 21, 2008 02:33 AM 4457 Views

The most violent terror attacks on Indian soil was on 26/11, Mumbai came under an unprecedented night attack as terrorists used heavy machine guns and grenades to strike at the city's most high-profile targets...

Seeing these two major landmarks - the Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels - on fire is psychologically damaging for people in India and is comparable to the affects the September 11 attacks had on Americans in 2001....this is the worst terrorist attack since 9/11........

I would say, this terror strike has been the most gruesome. The modus operandi of random firings, grenade attacks and taking foreigners as hostages seem to have created more panic than location based bomb blasts. Hats off to Police, Commados, MARCOS who fought bravely and brought this act of terrorism to end.

Arnab Goswami of Times Now took a good stand of not showing the gruesome visuals of the dead terrorists and also not sharing details of the army/ats plans to attack the oberoi/trident and taj to flush out the terrorist.

Hats off to the TV channel reporters for getting as close to the strike locations braving the cross-firing and grenade attacks and sending in LIVE reports to the viewers...

Encounter Specialist Vijay Salaskar and ATS Chief Hemant Kalaskar, ACP Ashok Kamate, Additional Commissioner Ashok Kamte - We salute you to have given a brave service to Mumbai.

Finally it was over after 59 hours. Think about those who waited to die, who waited to live, who waited for an Absolution that will never to come to them.

My heartfelt condolences to all those who may have lost a loved one in these attacks. My hopes and prayers to all out there affected by this act of brutality. Lets all pray for the souls to rest in peace and join our hands to end this Terrorism.

(You can leave a message with your prayers for the lost ones and your views also)

PEACE: Light at the end of the tunnel ...
Sep 02, 2008 08:10 PM 4391 Views

There is no quick solution to this dilemma; a disposition of peace amidst a climate of terror? Many were deceived by that “light at the end on the tunnel” which turned out to be a speeding train set upon its course! Terror is always sudden and violent; otherwise it would be called Diplomacy!

Here is my two bits worth: God says in the Holy Quran that His love for us EXCEEDS that of seventy mothers. There is no indication anywhere that this declaration is exclusively reserved for Muslims! So why can’t we begin to love each other, even minimally, with the love of only ONE mother as a start? What qualifies us to judge one another when we have dirt on our own backs?

God also says there is no compulsion in religion BUT IF anyone should prevent you from worshiping Him, ONLY THEN is war justified. And He prescribed strict rules for engagement promising severe punishment for circumventing them. I don’t see anyone preventing another from worshiping, do you?

Can you call a spade a spade?.. UN Summit 2006
Sep 21, 2006 03:00 PM 4093 Views

I don’t know how many would be interested in reading this review. But for those who are willing to read, I put forward my take on the ongoing UN summit of world leaders.

Day before yesterday I heard Mr. Bush live on CNN talking to world from the dais of UN. He named a lot of countries in his speech but the change in style was prominent this time round. He was addressing the citizens of the countries directly ( in most of the cases). The most interesting moment came when he praised the citizens of Iran for their culture and some thing something.. and .. at the same time given them an indirect hint ( or a direct threat?) to question their leaders or otherwise face consequences.

The other ridiculous part of his speech was when he mentioned Lebanon and conflict between hizbullah and Israel. Mr. Bush sympathized with people who got killed in the crossfire (?). Crossfire?? Mr. Bush it was not crossfire, it was bombs and missiles of US funded Israel who killed people of Lebanon. Who is going to count how many of them  were Hizbullah militants? Crossfire?? Mr. Bush is Lebanon situated between a land which belongs to Hizbullah and Israel?

Now, what he was trying to do there? Trying to tell the world that he is a power beyond UN ( for all practical reasons, he is, but till the world bow down to US lets continue to believe in the integrity and powers of UN).

Second most interesting chapter of this round of UN meet is the speech of Venezuelan president Mr. Hugo Chavez. I have never come across such an animated and fierce speech on this big a global platform. From the word go he was targeting US and specially President Bush. The indirect hints later got direct, so much so, that he addressed President Bush as a Devil. You got to see this to believe how charged up he was when he said “The devil was here yesterday, he was in this chamber, he was at the place where I am standing” before doing a “cross” and continuing his Bush bashing.

Chavez openly admitted his growing intimacy with Iran and even invite world leaders to join them to combat terrorist stare of USA. He made a lot of references to the speech made by Bush day before and went to the extent of calling US a terrorist state for giving shelters to people who conspired to kill him and disturb peace in Venezuela. Mr. Chavez finished his speech with saying if UN wants to keep it’s sanctity alive, it needs to be moved out of US. The reason he gave is hard to believe  but is true. US security forces did not allow Security personnel of Chavez to accompany him and were made to stay in the aircraft they flew in.

I have been following such international events since I was 14 or something but am finding it difficult to remember ever in the history leaders use such sarcasm and assault for others. And here I essentially mean international platforms. It is scary to see  we are so aggressively working towards the end of our planet. Where else do you think all these conflicts will take us. If you think nuclear arms are accessible to very few countries in the world, I would only say “Amen”, the reality is that time is ticking for the first ever nuclear explosion by a terrorist outfit. It can happen any where any time.

Now the question is, if we have a body which is suppose to handle all cross border affairs of states in some sort of dispute, why are we allowing a country or a lobby to dominate its proceedings. Alliances like NAM have lost their credibility and power. The fact is if even all NAM countries join hands and want to give a country a seat in permanent security council, they will not be able to do so. The handle is so powerfully tilted to some countries that it is becoming useless to have institutions like UN, of course, till we find a greater formulae to give meaning to such institutions.

Till than, hopeless and politically motivated speeches shall be made and benefits extended to world from such summits shall be zilch.

CITY OF GOD Morocco
THE ROOT OF ALL SINS
Jul 27, 2006 11:20 PM 3731 Views

Every single day that the merciful GOD bless us with life, we, the human race, kill each other!forget about who is killing who, how and why.it’s a fact, it’s a second nature!

I wonder, is this world too small for all of us to live in peace and harmony? The answer is no.every one of us will reach his destiny .but, it’s the endless greed of  the human race.it’s a fact, it’s a second nature!

I’m sitting in my small place, drown in my own little troubles(or maybe they are not little).busy with the little details of my own life.but when I hear about  innocent people  been killed.suddenly my whole life seems worthless.i freeze for a while.a tear drops in my heart.and then I want to burn the whole world.i let the anger and the despair overwhelme me.the feel of injustice possess me, so deeply, that I seek desperatly for a bloody revenge.so natural will say some.no!See, I become not better than those who kill  innocent people! In fact I become quit the same thing! And this is  the root of all sins, this is the road  to hell!

I confess, i am confused .am I wrong? .this huge part of human been who kills, they must have a reason.a strong reason to do so.but what is this reason who can allow you take the life that  the greater creator, our creator has given us?.GOD said in the holly QURAAN "if someone kills a soul without wright, it’s like he has killed all the human been".Yes, when u kill someone, you kill me at the same time and I become like you, a killer!

Things has been said, can there be peace in a world of sudden terror? I don’t think so.can we live in a world of sudden terror? No, we can’t.but the human race surrely will survive.it’s a fact, it’s a second nature.

So let’s rise a prayer to the "LORD", may he have mercy on our souls.

Mumbai Under Fire!!!!
Jul 12, 2006 01:23 PM 3532 Views

SERIAL BLASTS IN MUMBAI! HUNDREDS DEAD!

The story goes on….

A lot of blood! Much more news!

Kashmir tasted a bit and then Mumbai a lot of it. While we are sitting safely in our homes, do we realise that a few hundred miles away a kid awaits his dad, a wife her man and a mother her son; something many of them will keep doing for the rest of their lives. Tomorrow the world will wake up yet again, but I wonder if some of these Indians would sleep in the next few days or if life would ever be the same again.

Mumbai, being the dynamic city it is, surely would absorb the shock very soon. There would be the same old Page 3 parties and the common man would still have to fight the odds to survive each day. But then, is there a lesson to be learnt from all this, or should the memories be buried with the victims.

Someone will have to shoulder the blame. WHO? Our so called ‘representatives’ are so busy in creating news that they‘ve forgotten the very basic duties that they swore to carry out.  They seem to be more interested in settling their personal scores by finding out how much Amitabh Bachan earns or in securing the next election by asking the jungles of India to inhabit the IITs and IIMs. When we’ve got dumb asses telling us what to do and what not to, our future is anything but secure.

Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) – The Pakistanis must be laughing at us. No wonder, they partied and built homes at our peaks in Kargil and we could only desperately wave from 5000 meters below. Wake up India!! Do you make friends with people who are out there to suck you? They are already at arms, fighting a war against us, a proxy war – hitting us where it hurts the most. The sad thing is that we are yet to realise that and retaliate. Is this bloodshed not enough for the government to spring into action?

I am furious and this is the only medium to vent my anger. I feel choked at the very thought of what next. I cannot estimate the loss but I know that homes would no longer be filled with laughter, kids would drop out of school to fight for their existence, young widows would die crying and old mothers would starve. How can life be so harsh with them? What was their fault? Are they paying the price for being Indians?

This is certainly not the end. It is a beginning of something, though I wonder (and dread) of what. It is a question that time, Ms. Gandhi (she’s India’s boss) and General Musharraf would answer. The Pakistani CEO would surely condemn this. To which India ought to slap him hard and tell him to shut his big fat mouth.

All I can do is pray God to give strength to those people who’ve suffered for doing nothing. May these days pass off swiftly and the life ahead be a bed of roses. I know it wouldn’t be easy but then survival is the order of the day.

P.S.

As I write this, the death toll increases by the minute. Its 250 now and I wouldn’t be surprised if it doubled. Lalu Prasad Yadav is sympathising with the dead, announcing a compensation for them and promising to be in Mumbai within hours. Mr. Shivraj Patil, under the supervision of Ms. Sonia Gandhi is in an emergency meeting with Dr. Manmohan Singh. Seems very funny, Nah! While millions of Mumbaikars are left stranded on the streets trying to find a roof, these people are pondering as to what went wrong? I Wonder???????

7/11-A War on India
Jul 11, 2006 09:45 PM 3919 Views

July 11, 2006- Terrorists attack tourists in Kashmir, in 4 different blasts. 6 killed.

Blasts break out in Mumbai on crowded rush hour trains, 100 people killed.

106 Indians killed in a single day. Ordinary normal Indians, like you and me, some having fun, and some just going about their work.

Even in the light of recent terrorist incidents, this was the most horrifying day after Black Friday,1993.

What was the fault of the people murdered?

That they were Indians, and rejected the terrorists bigoted narrow vision of the world. Guys this is not a normal terror attack, 106 people dead in a single day is simple and plain war.

Yes a war which has been covert, underhand has broken out viciously into the open. And the victims as in any war are normal citizens like you.

And we need to fight it out like a war. IISC, Akshardham, Srinagar, Benaras, Mumbai(2003), DelhiN(2005), Ayodhya, Parliament, how many can we take ?

No we ordinary Indian citizens cant take it more, at least I cant.

We cant keep on understanding the causes of terrorism, yes if some one wants to do their Phd thesis on that, let them, but by the time we do, there wont be any one left in India.

The terrorists are simple,.plain criminals and we need to deal with them as such. Do you negotiate with the Nazis or the Taliban?

Dont give me the crap on ideology, what sort of ideology allows you to massacre innocent people?

The truth is simple guys, the terrorists want to establish their own world order, and are willing to murder for it.

We cant allow it to happen. No way, can we allow this to happen.

We need to act against the terrorists strictly and firmly. Civil rights and human rights are nice academic topics of discussion, but you apply human rights only for humans, not for people worse than animals.

All those bleeding heart liberal b*&$#$# need to be told one thing, boss you support the terrorists, you end up in jail.

All movies like Fanaa glorifying terrorists must be banned. For heavens sake dont insult our great freedom fighters by comparing them to terrorists. They never killed innocent people.

Mr Conscience Aamir Khan, will you come out strongly against terrorists now? Or is your conscience only for certain causes.

We need a Churchillnow to fight the war, but the truth is we are saddled with a Chamberlain. And we have a Govt which will even sell this nation just to remain in power. And a nationalist Opposition party which cant even resolve its inner disputes.

Why was POTArepealed, just to gain brownie points from Commies and so called intellectual a^*$($#!$?

One thing is for sure the establishment will never be able to fight against terrorists. We have a weak, effete bunch of jokers ruining the country.

Political leaders who are a disgrace to the nation.

Media which is interested only in sensationalization,

So called intellectuals and liberals, who keep cribbing about the country at the tax payers expense?

Administration which is totally incompetent and inefficent.

With such people around , the terrorists naturally would be emobldened to strike again and again.

Since the establishment has failed, its time for us normal Indians to rise.We cant keep quiet no more, because a day will come when we wont even be able to raise our voice.

Lets be vigilant now, and look out. This useless Govt wont protect our lives for sure. So I suggest we raise our own self defence committees. Terrorists thrive on fear, let us show them we dont fear them.

Terrorists want to break the communal harmony, lets not castigate every Muslim as a terrorist, they have also equally suffered.

I am welcome to suggestions from MSians to counter the threat of terrorism.

Combating Terrorism
Jun 02, 2006 01:35 PM 3681 Views

Hello friends,

Here is a small paragraph on combating terrorism to establish peace.

A sudden Terror is always temporary. This terror affected area  can be turned into a peaceful area through proper understanding among the individuals. At least one of them always knows whose argument is on the track and whose  is off the track.

At times we find arguing without any base. This leads to terror.

Today we urgently need a new, more fundamental approach to peace that can neutralize the very basis of terrorism and war.

That approach may originate out of fear or responsibility.

Behind every terror there is the need for power, money or security. So it should be analyzed before getting into a conflict.

Retaliation leads to  escalation of violence and the potential spread of conflict.

Sitting across the table and discussing the outstanding issues without ever trying to

complicate the issues can serve the purpose.

At last there  always exists an agreement of give and take .

One of the members has to calm down and respond in a manner that is acceptable to all.

At last we need peace around and that should be maintained at any cost without which there will be no end to war, terrorism. We all know it very well but when it comes to us to understand, we forget it.

Chennai India
Who is the terrorist?
May 04, 2006 12:37 PM 3997 Views

I havent read all the reviews but from those that I have I think it would be safe to say that most of us agree the real terrorists are not hiding in caves and tents in Afganistan of Iraq, but in skyscrapers, parliament houses, the White House and Capitol Hill.

Let me first clarify that I am not an enthusiast of Conspiracy Theories or anything like that. But the evidence is simply overhelming to indicate that the US Govt was behind, or part of, most of the activities that the world considered to be acts of terror. Most of these incidents took place at a time when the approval rating of the presidents were at a critical low. These alleged acts of terror gave new inspiration to the people and gave rise to nationalism, ensuring that the approval rating of the president rose sharply each time there was an attack.

The biggest and most obvious incident would be the September 11, 2001 incident, where the WTC twin towers and the Pentagon were attacked with hijacked planes. Recent research by independent scientists and investigator have revealed that there is no way the towers could have collapsed because of planes crashing into it.

And upto this day there is no photographic proof that a plane actually did hit the Pentagon despite the fact that every inch of the building is under security camera surveillence. And the initial damaged to the building was only 16 feet across and there were no wreckage left outside the building except a few scraps which could be picked up by hand. Next time you go to the airport imagine a Boeing 767 disappear into a 16 foot hole... Impossible at best.

And who can explain how 19 ill-trained men could hijack 4 planes simultanously and fly unguided and crash into a building right on target. There are docyumented records that the hijackers well below average pilots who could not even fly a 2 seater Cessna properly. Flying unguided accross the country is a feat rarely seen even among seasoned commercial pilots. Picking out a building from above the clouds and crahing into it is unheard of.

How could hijacked planes wander around as they please while even planes that accidentally go off course are immediately reported to the Air Force and intercepted by fighter jets. In the year before the WT incident over 60 planes were escorted by fighter jets because they went off thier course. Specially the one that hit the Pentagon, it was in the air almost another 1 hour after theWTC was struck but no planes were scrambled to intercept it. Could it be that the Air Force got orders to ignore these planes?

I don't want to sound like a passionate Conspiracy Theorist so do your own research, try to read the official conclusion of the 911 Commision, and slowly you will understand that there are too many questions that needs to be answered and too much technology involved before we blame a few bearded men in caves in Afghanistan. Read about other issues such as American foreign Policy, Oklahoma bombing and you may get a better view of the whole picture. Although I believe the New World Order theory is quite possible, I still find it too scary to believe

(too late?) now you realize...
Dec 22, 2005 12:52 AM 3748 Views

More than 60,000 people died in india since 1988, thanks to acts of terrorism.. and the superpowers always thoughts they were freedom fighters who were revolting!!!!!! ...

A bomb kills 7 american soldiers somewhere ( where they are warring), and it is named as another Terrorist attack....

A blast in kashmir kills 15 people, 30 people (of doda village, J & K)going to marriage are beheaded and it never makes it to the international news!!

After the london tube blasts (38 deaths), all the big newspapers made a very nice graphic presentation, showing where the terrorists have struck in the last 2 decades. ..(Especially The times edition, London) ..

not one of the them had mentioned a single attack in India!!!

I am not saying that the world deserves what it gets because it behaves in the typical way of :

meraa khuun khuun, aur tera khuun paani .. meaning -

my blood(shed) is blood(bloodshed-a major loss,) and your blood(shed) is water ( nothing)....

Lets be fair,,

A life is a life, anywhere and everywhere..... A human life is a human life after all, isnt it? just because it is an indian, doesnt make it a negligible fact, does it??

India has been telling the world about terror and its source, but the world failed to realize...

And now it answered with a retaliation.... The Wise President Bush, could not get Osama, so he settled for Saddam!!!Iraqi invasion has led to loss of more innoncent lives on both sides rather than terrorists... It will no doubt create more enemies for US in future... (lucky for the world that we had iraq and saddam....otherwise I guess Bush would have blamed Cuba, castro and Russia for everything!!!)

Punishing Saddam for osama, was like punishing the weak but known to be open and courageous person, for the one whom all the Spies of world could not catch..

its like punishing the backbencher repeater of the class, who may be bad... for the evil devil who is not caught...... But punishing 1 for another, is not justice... and it is the mother of future terrorism.. ie killing of innocent lives...

which brings us to the central question...

can there be peace in a world of sudden terror???

[sorry. for being so so so very late in answering, I wasnt there on the MS in 2002!!,, nevertheless... the question is still relevant in 2005 after the july bombings in the place where I am now...london...]

Can there be peace in a world of terror??

Yes.

Definately... but not with retaliation,, retaliation will create more terrorists.

You dont have to bite back at a dog who has bitten you. You may catch him, kill him.. but dont be a dog..... dont kill innocent people on the pretext of terrorists...

I think the question is wrong, terror is not Sudden..

Alqaeda does not have on its passport the year of birth as 2001!!! It was in existence much before that, it is the world's fault if it turned blind eyes to countries like india...

And the fact that the origin of all terrorist groups lies in the afghan pakistani border is more than sufficient to know that US knew of its existence even before terrorism started in India in late 1980s....

I think US made two major blunders.. electing Mr.Bush was second of them.. invading iraq was the first...

The answer to terrorism lies in India's policy... India knows the source, but it never has invaded any country in its history, and wont... It stays strong, alert, and resilient..., very resilient in fact,,,,,

the terrorists keep attacking at every chance they get, but it does not budge, neither does it let it disrupt its own inner harmony....

It doesnot invade a weaker nation, on whom it can venge all its anger,, does it?? naaa...

India has made many mistakes though, and partly its half-asleep citizens are responsible for it..( they are asleep to everything from corruption to evil to being unpatriotic)

The best retaliation to terrorism is by love...

Love only can cure hatredness, love only can promote peace...

Love is the magical answer....

I am not saying, that US should start giving visas to everyone especially al-qaeda members,,, nanana.., and that all soldiers should retire!!!,,na na na.. no way

be alert, be strong, be resilient, be powerful,

but dont be a terrorist to kill another...

The root of terrorism lies in fanaticism, brain-washing, illiteracy and maybe poverty...

Eradicate this(takes 2 words only, but will take centuries)

and you will live in a peaceful world...

The world doesnot need the stronger nations bullying of weaker nations, and a big drama known as restoration of democracy (read hypocrisy) later on...

no..It doesnt need barriers too.

I believe that ultimately there will peace, when every human life will be valued.. at what cost I dont know...

but we will have to answer for all the mistakes we make...

for every human innoncent life that we take...

from history lets learn love, forgiveness and non-violence

let us be strong and powerful, yet non-exploiting

let us be alert and protected, yet non-invading

let us follow Gandhian philosophy of non-violence,

but be fully prepared to defend ourself when the others dont understand....

somewhere in the philosophies of Gandhi, buddhism, jainism, hinduism, christianity, islam and all other religion.. lies the key that will lead to a positive answer to the above question,,,

but first lets accept........

PRELUDE

Ran across this topic, thanks to a certain gravedigger at MS..read couple, wanted to leave. cant. Debated in my mind if I should write or not. now u know who won. Debated because I dont consider myself person enough to write on this. Still am going ahead. Theres something I saw two days ago that really made me write this.

Guess the topic is a bit offset. Should have been something like 'can there be sudden peace in a world of ongoing terror'. and I would answer with a sad and bleak NO. Its a very simple statement. Bad breeds faster than Good. Uneasy to accept, but sadly true. Some people of religion A gets butchered by religion B in some remote place on the other side of the planet. People of religion A massacre double the quantity of B as a compliment in some other part of the world.

Thats how fast Bad breeds. If some people of religion A save people of religion B its only just a small news item. Thats how barren Good is. The only balance is that Good however small, perseveres better than bad. Governments, world leaders, lovers, saints, scholars, crooks all become one and the same - all consumed by the inexplicably intoxicating lust for revenge - for the wrongs that someone else did, for the wrongs that someone else suffered.

Religious fanatism is not the only kind of terrorism we see. Border terrorism is one of the many siblings it has. What is it that makes me trust a person this side of a barbed wire more than one standing on the other side? What makes us think that our rights are heavier than theirs? or our wrongs, lighter? what is it that makes them think so? I have read numerous articles about extremist and terrorist activities and have really got startled at the level of cruelty that we are capable of inflicting on our fellow humans.

Theres another reason for me being bitter. Day before yesterday I had a video clipping forwarded to my mailbox that showed some terrorists slitting a guys throat while he was still alive, with a taped mouth and hands tied behind...Have you heard the guttural whine of a taped man with a knife on his throat? I havent got words to describe what I saw...

Sometimes I wish that we truly had an alien invasion in this world, something like the kind we saw Sigourney Weaver hunt down. For one thing, we might see everyone stand shoulder to shoulder and fight a common enemy. Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Jews - up in arms against a common threat. Iraqis, Americans, indians, Pakis, Israelites and Palestinians - comrades in arms, fighting for a common cause. I would gladly join them.

INTERLUDE 1

FERNANDO - ABBA

''There was something in the air that night

The stars were bright, Fernando

They were shining there for you and me

For liberty, Fernando

Though I never thought that we could lose

There's no regret

If I had to do the same again

I would, my friend, Fernando''

i might sing this and fernando might be a Paki.

Bush might sing this and fernando might be Saddam.

A palestine might sing this and Fernando might be Sharon.

Even if we fail, we would at least be known as a species that stood together till the end. It would be sad if a millenia later we were introduced to other species as one that got extinct cutting each other's throat. Perhaps we need a bigger threat to remind us that we are not the real threat here. And even on that day if we dont stand together - may we all perish. Cause we dont deserve to live.

What do we fight for? piece of land in this planet demarcated with barbed wires and named as countries? Or for beliefs that we have absolutely nothing to believe by other than the belief? What is terrorism for some is freedom fight for others, they say. Ok, but do u fight for freedom slitting the throat of a still fully conscious man?? Someone who never wronged you? Its not what you change, but how you change that counts, Mr. Terrorist. The end doesnt always justify the means. In some wars, both sides lose.

The world is the way the world is..it has been so for countless ages and life has prospered in it well and lived in harmony.

Live it or Leave it.

INTERLUDE 2

INNOCENT MAN - BILLY JOEL

''Some people sleep all alone every night

Instead of taking a lover to bed

Some people find that it's easier to hate

Than to wait anymore

Some people hope for a miracle cure

Some people just accept the world as it is...''

To sit back and do a detailed synopsis on who's wrong and who's right is a futile task. But life has a great way of bouncing back, of making paradises out of deserts. I hope we will.  Im sure we will. Because after everything is said and done..its still all about humanity.

And humanity is what mankind is all about.

INTERLUDE 3

BETTER MAN - ROBBIE WILLIAMS

''As my soul heals the shame

I will grow through this pain

Lord I'm doing all I can

To be a better man...''

May we all have a world where every neighbour is a friend...

EPILOGUE

Im sorry if u didnt find what I wrote informative. But as I said before I dont think im a person enough to write this in an 'informative' kind of way. Check this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism if you are really looking for some facts and figures about terrorism.

No fancy pen-pushing this time. I just felt like writing this. And I did.

Is London Base of Terrorist?
Jul 22, 2005 10:50 AM 3700 Views

Is London Base of Terrorist? Is US / UK mother of all Terrorist activities?

I agree to the last review written by Jrangoon, all finger point towards US. We can take this review in continuation of that also.

London, Global city where not only Britons are living Hindu, Muslim, Jewish etc is living. More than 100 languages are being spoken there. In this way London is truly a Global city. But now it is turning out to be a Hub of Terrorism - a head quarter of Terrorism. With 2nd series of bomb blast in London we can sum up its internal security and protection is very poor. The roots of Islamic Terrorism have gone deeper than what they were thinking in London. There is no smoke unless there is a fire. An old proverb is proving that two series of bomb blast are enough to say that Islamic Terrorism is well settled in London.

We can see that after 9 / 11, there is no more terrorist attack on US but there is 2nd attack within a week in London proves that Terrorists are well settled in London with their fundamentals very clear. Britain was having their own policy to tackle Muslims. In spite of several part of world suffering from Islamic Terrorism, they continued to welcome all Muslims without checking that they are connected to Terrorists or not. They were several Terrorist attacks like Bali Night club, French engineer in Karanchi, Itambul Truck bomb, Tunicial, Cassa Blanka, Russia, Philippines, Baghdad. But London was not bothered about it.Their liberal policy was there as it was. But with these two attacks in London, they will be forced to review their policy. All know that London was safest place on plant for Islamic Terrorist. Not Afghanistan or northern Pakistan is safer than London. Because of this policy London is paying the price.

There has been big difference between Western ideology and Islamic thinking. This may be the reason for this clash. Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan are countries where Religion is having its strong base and hold in society. They are spreading the Terrorist ideology in new breed. Kashmir and Chechnya are places where terrorism is being wrongly considered as freedom fighters. This is the place terrorist are getting their base training. For the years Western world are considering Kashmir and Chechnya fights are freedom fight because of their own interest. If Kashmir remains the problem, Indian development suffers and if Chechnya remains problem Russian development suffers. So these two countries can not pose any challenge to Western countries. Thus they were indirectly encouraging terrorism in such areas. If you remember, USA itself has given weapon and financial aid to Afghans to fight against former USSR. Look at the history of last 30 years, USA has given weapon and financial aid to Taliban to run training camps and now they are facing the tune of this terrorism. This fact was even stated by General Mushrraf on last Thursday in his speech.

Let’s look at statement of Bin Laden. When Bush has sworn after 9 / 11 that Laden will be caught dead or alive. Bin Laden had told that, my life or death doesn’t matter. What matters is awareness of Muslim towards their rights. Now we call this leading Muslim or misleading Muslims but Bin Laden has actually taken Islamic Terrorism to new era.The roots of this ideology have gone to such a depth that it’s really difficult to uproot it. Osama is cleverly using TV Network, News paper, Internet. He and his terrorism are omnipresent.

After 9 / 11 and 7 / 7, in many part of the world, Muslims are facing problems. Local people are looking to them with an eye of doubt. Some of them are facing violence also. So we can say that because of 10% of extremists other 90% are facing problem. Suffers are mainly poor Muslims who can not protect themselves. But Muslims are the people who can help the world in this problem. If they can identify those 10% extremists and handover those to law and order, world can be saved. So the help and support of Muslims are very necessary

Back to London, Muslim of London has a great role to play. They can prove themselves to be crucial in the fight against Terrorism. Now America and Britain has tasted the Terrorism, they will understand the problem of other countries. Rightly said by our PM Manmohan Sing, there shall not be double standard for a fight against terrorism. Over the period of time America has created chain of errors. Britain always follows America by closing their eyes. It’s a time for them to open the eyes. Let the fight against Terrorism start, it will take long time but we can at least ensure than our coming generation don’t blame that we have done nothing to stop terrorism.

ALL FINGERS POINT 2 D US OF A
Jul 18, 2005 06:56 AM 3751 Views

Hi Folks!

There was a very interesting review by my friend Rahul(G raptor) on the London bomb blasts on how the blasts could have been avoided had Britain not got involved in this Fight against Terror or even if it had to Discreet should have been the better part of valor.

Very interesting perspective and the response to it was interesting too with some as “Attack being the best way to defend” against this menace of terrorism.

So it set me thinking and I could only conclude that one most important reason and in-fact the only reason the world is facing this menace is the US of A and its foreign policy dictum for the last 3 decades.

So I give below some of the historical events of the last 2-3 decades which can be added up and summarized to the cause of the world’s misery today resulting in the

recent London bomb blasts

IRAN-IRAQ WAR- RISE OF SADDAM HUSSEIN-THE HAND OF U.S

For a decade of so during the cold war, Iran Iraq fought a bitter war over a place called KARBALA(in Iraq) held in the highest esteem by SHIA Muslims(backed by IRAN) and the genocide of the Shia Muslims in IRAQ by the ruling regime.

Iran was backed by Russia and thus U.S backed the ruler’s in-spite of state sponsored genocide in that country.

It even gave birth to Saddam who grew up to became a beast and taking the U.S support for granted ventured in to capturing KUWAIT for oil and thus finally U.S took a U turn fought the gulf war against Iraq and against weapons supplied by it in the first place. The two gulf war has cleaned up an entire civilization in Iraq killing countless and giving birth to many a terrorists who we can make a fair guess look to the US of A and those who support it with hatred.

AFGHANISTAN- RISE OF TALIBAN-ALQAEDA-OSSAMA- THE HAND OF U.S

To counter the Iran(Russian) backed occupation of Afghan territory, the US backed by PAKISTAN funded the TALIBAN both with money and arms who in turn recruited hundreds of young men on religious grounds brain washing them for WAR. With the cold war ending in favor of US, the Afghan war too ended but the seeds of

“A Farm for terrorists” had been sowed since a Taliban government backed by Pakistan was in place and Pakistan could recruit in hundreds for its adventures in INDIA.

In his early days Ossama-bin-laden was a strict opponent of the SAUDI regime for its dictatorship and laundering of public wealth(oil) and took to arms so as to protest. The Saudi government as we all know was/is backed by the U.S for its oil security. Thus the US which champions the cause of Democracy supported and stills  support a totalitarian regime(preach but shall not follow) to the ire of people like OSSAMA and which made his cause of JIHAD  much easily digestible to his recruits.

INDIAS FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM AND PAKISTAN-THE HAND OF U.S

For 2 decades or more now India has been fighting this menace first in PUNJAB, then spreading to JAMMU and EAST INDIA like ASSAM.( well all these were/ are separatist movements and thus the roots are much deeper but then logistics was/is provided by Pakistan)

In-spite of an almost open logistical support by Pakistan to the terrorists The U.S never took a stand against Pakistan for its own interest to support Pakistan against Russia-Iran axis and a path to China.

During the Punjab problem, many a militants took refuge in countries like CANADA and  US and India could do nothing since at that time there was no “ COALITION AGAINST EVIL” which the U.S champions now.

Now the menace has grown to such an alarming proportion that PAKISTAN as one writer said has become a Factory producing such distorted minds.(Only If Pakistan had been checked).

India fought the 1972 Indo PAK war to liberate East Bengal from Pakistan and to end the genocide in that country. In spite of overwhelming evidence of the genocide the U.S government kept backing Pakistan and even called India as a “ROGUE REGIME”, the recent revelations of the then U.S president Kissinger sayings about Indira Gandhi and Indians in general make for a shocking read.

ISRAEL-PALESTINE –THE HAND OF U.S

The US of A had and has been a mute spectator to the Illegal occupation of Palestinian territory by ISRAEL for years now due to a very strong and influential Jewish lobby in the US of A and probably some other selfish reason I am not aware, but the point is It has done nothing thus giving birth to outfits like HAMAS.

Hundreds have been killed on both sides and again we can make a fair guess the number of potential terrorists that would have been born ANTI US and its supporters.

Final word;

If we want to take the war to them then be sure that the war will comeback to our own back yard.

For years now the U.S citizens have been selfish electing a government on the basis of local issues giving a free hand to its government to set foreign policy on their will.

This callousness is now costing the rest of the world dear and the BIRD HAS COME HOME TO ROOST.

The recent home being London, and seeing the way the present Indian regime

is trying to woo US of A India could be next if it is still not.

London blasts, whose fault apart 4m d terrorisists
Jul 15, 2005 11:52 PM 3808 Views

‘Don’t tell me you agree with me, when I saw you kicking dirt in my eye………It don’t matter if you’re black or white!!’ intoned Micheal Jackson in his hit single Black or White. . And as Nugz sang ‘It don’t matter who you are, I’m gonna take you down with a weapon from afar’. Both coincidentally being one of my few favorite numbers, also depict the reality in todays world of mass infiltration.  The London blasts were an unfortunate tragedy which, in my opinion was inevitable ever since the stand the U.K had taken with due regards to the Afghan war.

After 9/11, airport security had been beefed up. But essentially the security which was overhauled only related to the major North American airports and also the U.K airports to a certain extent. At that point they had major extensive checks on passengers arriving and departing from the above mentioned airports. But this still posed a problem. For flights coming in from places like Tehran, Dhaka, Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi into the U.S or U.K, the flight security at the departing airports was still the bare minimum. So if the security at those departing airports was less, added security at the U.S and U.K airports wouldn’t be of much help as the terrorists could simply hijack the flights in mid-air and re-enact another 9/11. The difference between what I exemplified and the actual 9/11 was that, the flights of the latter were national flights and so obviously the security agents at the departing U.S airport were threatened or bought (as later investigations proved), so that the hijackers could smuggle the weapons on board.

Afghanistan and Iraq have always hated the Americans, and when they executed 9/11, it was a classic case of spite garnishing the hunger to avenge the people who had been massacred when Afghanistan and Iraq were bombed.

Afghanistan……After 9/11, obviously the U.S was enraged and initiated a war on Iraq. Nothing there…..they HAD to…….. otherwise the US citizens would have had the U.S president by his bs. But then the U.K Prime minister gets into the act and starts to proclaim” We will also fight this war against terrorism. Terrorism being a global issue, fighting against it is our moral duty and the U.K will send its soldiers to Iraq to combat and dismantle terrorism at its core” And so the U.K deployed their troops to the U.S.

Now the main point I am trying to emphasize……

1- What the heck for did you have to send your troops to Iraq, when nobody has attacked your country? (the U.K) and (read below first)

2- If you think the above is unjustified and that terrorism is really a global issue…..what in hell for do you (U.K) need to announce to the world (Afghanistan included) that you, the U.K, who have absolutely nothing do with the current situation at hand are helping the U.S and providing them with soldiers to combat the Afghanis. I doubt the Afghani’s while fighting a war are going to stand up in middle of a gun battle and say “hey….you’re British……you cant fight mate…...what are you doing here?.” To which the Brit would reply “nothing old boy…..Blair just sent us down here against our will……you wouldn’t have a fish and chips inn around here somewhere, would you?”

My point is just that…….if you want to poke your nose into something that doesn’t concern you, and especially if the matter at hand deals with injuring a third party, make godamn sure the third party, much less the whole godamn world doesn’t hear about what you you’re doing. Prime Minister Blair  ON TELEVISION  should just have expressed his negative thoughts against terrorism and that it should taken apart…..but he didn’t have to add his comments that the U.K Soldiers are also going to help the U.S fight the terrorists in Iraq when the UK had absolutely nothing to do with it

The Al Qaida and other terrorist groups have been to that day blaming the British for helping out the U.S, even though it was no concern of theirs, and out of spite they pledged an attack on U.K which as I said before was forseen and inevitable. Now if the U.K had quietly sent their troops down to Iraq to help the Americans, The Al Qaida simply wouldn’t have known about it and what happened in London wouldn’t have really taken place

The London blasts……..as I maintain…..was an act which was initiated by the foolishness of the British Coucil. Not only did they interfere in matters (post 9/11) which though of no-direct concern to their own country, was still though a matter of great importance. But they also went around proclaiming that they had indeed helped the U.S defeat the terrorists stationed in Iraq by sending in their own soldiers to battle when it was absolutely unnecessary to do so, and even more imprudent and irrational to publicize it to the world.

(this is the first time i'm writing on anything even remotely political....and the reason I wrote on this topic was that it was on the 'Wanted List' on MS............hope to receive your comments.....as they would in turn notify me if i've made any factual mistakes.....and appreciation is more than welcome here........thanks)

Problem Solution Reaction???
Jul 08, 2005 12:12 PM 3494 Views

It is sad to know that now britain has become a victim of this age old political weapon or should I say the people of britain. It is one of the biggest tragedies to happen this year. Well 911 has put com fear ino the hearts of all americans and that has enabled the government attacks which ever country they want in the name of war on terrorism using the americans tax payers money.Infact now they can do anything in the name of terrorism. And what I notice is that the headlines of todays newspaper what more focusing on the ’’govt’’ of britain being strong. I am not going to right anymore on this cos I dont wat to put forward some baseless theory. I just put one question forward We know that tony blair won the elections and how we dont know. Now I heard rumours that the electronic voting was rigged So now I am sure everybody is going to forget about it. My stand on this is that I feel there is government involement and I feel that in two three weeks the people of britain will have to face a martial law in the name of security. Atleast things are going to be tighter and nobody is going to ask how the hell did tony blair win. I had to add these links for a new insite https://infowars.com/articles/world/uk_subway_bombing_who_gains.htm(O riginal reports stated that Binyamin Netanyahu was warned BEFORE the first blast, now all the Associated Press reports are being changed to say he was warned AFTER the first blast, for example this article. The article linked below that we saved in our own format (and the website that carried it has strangely since crashed) said that Netanyahu was warned before the first blast.) This is some interesting reading on numerology and the various attacks-https://infowars.com/articles/occult/terror_attack_numerology_updateh tm.htm And this is news articles of how london has bombed itself before https://infowars.com/articles/sept11/former_mi5_agent_911_was_inside_job.htm These links dont merely state some theory but give you news clippings from various reputed news agencies the news which we read and forgot

LONDON BLASTS - astrology ?
Jul 08, 2005 11:00 AM 4027 Views

I reallised yesterday after hearing the news about the LONDON blasts that Astrology can surely predict!

I read this article ’’MERCURY -Stocks and individuals in trouble’’ By A. K Jain a leading astrologer of India.

He says-- ’Mercury while moving in zodiac has entered Cancer sign on 24th June at 10.14 hours IST. It will continue to remain in this sign till 1st September 2005 till 13.28 hours. from 18th July it will be associated with three malefic planets Saturn, Mars and Rahu.’

’The Mercury is also the most significant planet in judging the behavior of stock markets.Individual should be extremely careful while investing in markets during this period.’ The Mercury is also the most significant planet in judging the behavior of stock markets. It has the capability of destabilizing the markets for a short period. The planet Mercury is responsible for business and commercial activities. It also governs intellectual and mental frame of mind. Therefore unless Mercury is well placed, upward movement of stock markets is in doubt. The present position of Mercury is most malefic and it will get worse when it gets retrograde on 23rd July 2005. The foremost impact of transit of Mercury in Cancer sign will be on stock markets. During the period from 23rd July to 15th August there will be volatility in the markets. This transit of Mercury may stall upward movement of markets. For a short period markets may get bearish. The worst affected stocks will be of IT and Communication. Individual should be extremely careful while investing in markets during this period.

That’s why suddenly there is an increase in the level of terrorist activity in the world? First there was an attack in Ayodhya(INDIA) and then the blasts in London! and the Stocks are going southwards.

Far thing

Terrorism Of America:-

In my opinion, America is no 1 in the world in terrorism, neither lascar-eetaiba nor al-kaida.

The first remarkable terrorism of the millennium occurred in 11th September, 2001 when terrorists turned the world trade centre into debris. Then without any proof United States Of America attacked Afghanistan to find Osama Bin Laden who is suspected for the attack. America did not find Laden but killed so much innocent Afghanis. Isn?t it terrorism? And there is no strong evidence against Laden. The attack on Afghanistan at last turned into the attack on the Taliban. America was able to banish them from the rule. My only question is that?who gave Mr. Bush the authority to change the ruling party of other country? Taliban are tyrant. Ok, that?s their own problem!

Now in Iraq. At first White house alleged that Iraq has the formulae of atom bomb and they had created it. Iraq threw out the allegation and then with pleasure America-Britain attacked Iraq. Now it is quite understandable that their(America-England) target was the oil mines of that country because after killing lots of million innocent Iraqis they are now announcing that there was not such thing like atom bomb in Iraq. Isn?t it ridiculous? You can tell that many Iraqis were happy when Saddam Hussein was arrested. I would say that is their internal problem. Every ruler has opponents.

I am afraid for the part of Syria and Saudi Arab, America is not so happy. No one can say about the next ?War against terrorism? of America.

Pakistan:- Encourages Terrorists

Pakistan is not playing fair game against terrorism. They are encouraging many terrorist group to spread over India. To stay simultaneously in two boats is not always easy, but Pakistan is doing this duty smoothly. From Daud Ibrahim to many terrorist groups Pakistan gives shelter to everyone.

Terrorism is one thing. But encouraging for terrorism is other thing. And if it goes on; in earlier future peace is very far from our life.

Questions.
Jan 03, 2004 02:16 AM 4065 Views

If you are looking for answers, you might as well close this review. I don't have the answers. I don't claim to know the solution. I don't go around saying Shanti. All I have are questions and a whole deal of them

I want to L.I.V.E

What might seem like just another attitude statement from an advertisement for teenagers has more relevance today than in any other time in History. The toll of 9/11 was finally put down as 2752. The number does not include the 10 Hijackers who crashed the two planes into the Twin Towers.

It is the deaths of those 10 people that disturbs me.. I cannot and will never understand what could have led those 10 to do what they did. They did not explicitly have any cause, they were educated young men who chose to kill themselves willingly. When some one like Osama Bin Laden becomes popular after planning and executing something like 9/11 there is something WRONG

What is happening in this world where man voluntarily destroys the one greatest gift that god has given to him?: HIS LIFE

Remember that it is one thing to place a bomb and then detonate it from a distance of 200 yards. It is an entirely different issue blowing yourselfwith it.

Ask yourself, is there anything on this planet for which you will willingly end your life

The answer will be a resounding NO

I can't think of any explanation for an Indonesian or a Turk to kill hundreds of his countrymen and in the process himself, and dying with the satisfaction of destroying a part of a British Bank or an American Fast Food Diner.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------

The Islamic World:

It's the Palestinian issue more than anything else that irks the Muslims. Disgruntled voices are heard often voicing their opinions. But, What do these disgruntled voices add up to? A big ZERO.

Madness prevails and don't tell me it's otherwise. Where was the common sense when educated young men carried out something unimaginable voluntarily as it happened on that fateful day on September 11th. Where was the common sense when Paradise turned hell in Bali? Where was the common sense when young innocent Africans were killed in the bombing of the US Embassy?

Was it for Palestine?Tell me: Has the situation in Palestine become any better?

It's a vicious cycle. Israeli tanks enter the Gaza strip. Trying to kill one person soldiers kill people like you and I. A suicide bomber takes revenge for the death of his loved ones. The Israeli army retaliates. It goes on.

Worse still; there is a waiting list for people volunteering to be suicide bombers. Hamas does not have to go in search of them. It could be your teacher. It could be the young to be bride next door. It could be a lawyer. It could be a mother.

Paranoia as a result has crept into the Israeli system as they threaten to kill the very livelihood and the spirits of thousands of people with the completion of that hated fence. The Israeli's haven't made it easier by electing someone like Ariel Sharon to power. ( If you don't know about his actions in the 80's read it up. I don't know a person like him could have been allowed to enter the Rajghat.)

Islamic moderates need to come forward everywhere to take over, they are just not doing enough and its a fact. The events in Istanbul just showed that even Turkey, one of the few countries that has blended both Islam and modern ideas is not safe anymore.

The United States Of America

Mr. Bush has led us ( so eloquently) to believe that there are two worlds; the good and the bad. In true Texan style he has launched a war on terror. Tell me, how do you define a victory in this war?.How do you find out the war has ended? Can he declare victory in the war just cause there will be no further attacks on American Mainland?. Doesn't a strike on a crowded business centre in Nairobi mean a failure in this policy as much as one in downtown LA?

Frankly, people expect too much from the President of the United States of America. Like any other politician he wants to get re-elected. To get re-elected he has to please his voters and when the majority of his backers tend to be sympathetic to the Jews he will be sympathetic to the Jews.

I just don't like the US that has arisen post 9/11. It suddenly seems to be a bully. Yes, Saddam has been defeated but where are the weapons of mass destruction? Where is the oil heading? Great stories are shown that there are fire brigades running. But where the hell are those telephone lines. Contracts are handed out to Halliburton (on whose payroll is the vice president) and yet people have to wait for 3 hours for petrol.

Victory was claimed in Afghanistan with much jubilation and relief and yet the Taliban is being allowed to regroup from the Pakistani border. What is going to happen next? The warning signs from an already impotent Hamid Karzai are being ignored and the US might have to pay a heavy price again. But, I don't expect action to be taken till the US suffers a major loss. (That is my opinion. If you think otherwise, you are entitled to that.)

I keep asking myself. How could a nation with its roots as diverse as that of the US. Welcoming people with open arms from all corners of the earth irrespective of their age, sex, color and race and with ideals that represent the best that man can be inspire as much hatred as it does today?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------

I would have submitted this review a long time back but I did not cause I didn't know how to end it. I still don't..

There are still so many things to say. I keep asking myself. Have I looked at things too superficially? Did I say what has been pricking me all these days? Do I have more to say?

Yet I know one thing. Just like I did, you will close this review and put the things in the back of your head. It will all come out when something tragic occurs. Then the questions will resurface again. Answers will be searched for and more and more people will take stages claiming they know the answer.

And as I think about it I just get the feeling that people (especially children) of different cultures and faiths should be made to interact more. Be it the people from Boston or Baghdad; Lahore or Lucknow. It won't be the solution to every problem( heck it might not solve anything) but then it would be a start and I think at some point of time we would find there are so many things to talk about even without us understanding each other perfectly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------

Don't we react the same way when some one close dies? Don't we all feel the same pain when some innocent child is killed just because it happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Don't we feel the same anger when we feel that we have been wronged? Don't we feel the same pride when we accomplish something?

Don't we all feel the same sensation when a spoon of our favorite ice cream tickles our taste buds? Don't we feel the same way when we have to stand and give an impromptu speech in front of hundreds of people?

Don't our hearts beat faster in the same way when we hear those three little words for the first time from our special someone?

No matter the frustrations, no matter the bitterness, no matter the tears don't we just wan't to L.I.V.E?

Maybe then you and I will see that we aren't really that different after all

Terror a six letter English word has many synonyms, like fear, fright, scare, shock, dread, panic, horror anything that leads to misery, pain, agony and discomfort in any form. The percentage of agony, misery and pain determines the percentage of terror, how horrid it is.

What struck me was why sudden? Is terror a current phenomenon that shot up post WTC incident or taking a few paces back, lets say the Kashmir insurgency or is it something that has been a part of us from time unknown. Isn’t the Kalinga War of Ashoka The Great an act of terrorism on the then state of Kalinga? Even that war had led to massive killings and total destruction. Isn’t the Atom Bomb dropping on Hiroshima, an act of terrorism? Even today years after the incident kids are born defective as their ancestors had to suffer radiations. Did Madame Curie do any crime by discovering radium and radiation?

On second thoughts is terror or terrorism, just limited to war, killing and bloodshed? Most of the reviews that I have read in MS on this topic are US, IRAQ, OSAMA, KASHMIR and PAKISTAN centric, these are the issues that have been spoken more often and have received publicity. Going by the definition or synonyms of terror I guess its not. Terror is much deep rooted within us, within our system than it appears to be. I would rather like to discuss some other forms of terror that exists and have existed. My review is India and Indian society oriented, as I don’t consider myself knowledgeable enough to write on issues of the world as whole.

Going by definition, anything that causes agony, pain, discomfort and death is a cause of terror. Percentages of agony may vary and determine the percentage of terror or terrorism.

Social terror, feudal terror

The entire, social structure in our country is widely divided into religions, caste, class and several other big or small barricades. An entire village comprising of, so-called lower caste or class people is massacred by so-called upper class and vice versa. May be there’s feud between a handful of people on both sides but a larger mass has to suffer. These are raised on media, legislative assemblies and on several other occasions but the terror doesn’t end they reoccur. We have special quotas for the scheduled caste and tribes, even here it’s only the elite SC or ST who enjoys the privilege, the real needy ones suffer, a cause of discomfort.

Recently, a young boy had to loose both his eyes on a dispute over a meager thing! Where are we living?

Another form of social terror though very common but less publicized is female foeticide. Just imagine a mother who bears the baby for nine months has to part her baby off just because it’s a girl. Oh! Now it is easier and the process is not nine months long, all you need to do is a medical test and an abortion. Isn’t it a gruesome murder of the baby and a psychological death for the mother? The process doesn’t end here, she again has to bear a next time in hope of a son. And the process of murder continues. It sounds as if I am talking of the nineteenth century, but my friends this prevails even today.

In our society, when a girl is born, even before her name is kept the parents worry about her dowry. Yes another form of Social terror, young brides being brutally burnt alive for inability to meet the greedy demands of the inlaws. It’s a very common newspaper clipping, often read and forgotten. It is a cause of terror for the parents and also for the newly wed bride. Social terror is beyond limits. Lets talk of something else.

Religious terror

X religion fears that Y religion is converting people from X religion and the reverse and this leads to war, terror, agony, pain etc etc. Do we really need a media to communicate to GOD? Isn’t GOD there for every soul in HIS world, did HE not create all of us? Can’t we just pray and love GOD without the preachers? Is GOD that far away from us and close to them who consider themselves as HIS messengers?  Do we at all need a religion, can’t we all just believe in a supreme power called GOD, ALLAH, ISHWAR, MASSIAH, JESUS or by any other name, say SUN or the solar system, the supreme power or the Nature, for which we are here. Religion has not led us to anything good but separation, hatred and a cause of terror worldwide.

I highly condemn the Devdasi, tradition prevailing in many parts of our country. Isn’t it prostitution in the name of GOD, religious prostitution? There must be other similar examples in other religions too that have not made it to the newspapers, thankfully.

Educational terror

Tagore, if alive would have killed himself for writing –

Where the mind is without fear, and the head is held high…

Where Knowledge is Free

Knowledge in the country of knowledgeable past has become an ecstasy of the rich and well to dos. It’s a luxury that only a handful can easily afford. The most eligible candidate doesn’t get admission to an Engineering College for amount of fees he has to pay. The scholarship is given to the minister’s nephew. The parent sells of the land to see his son admitted, on the first day of college the poor child has to face rigorous ragging, he somehow survives and finally succeeds in becoming an engineer but where’s the job? Many others don’t make it to the end they get lost some where in the process. Examination on virtue of trigger, question paper leakage, mark sheets tampered, answer sheets lost and many others to follow. The competition level has gone sky-high that it is becoming a reason of fear for the child, to be unable to deliver his best. Everyone is expected to be the BEST and an All rounder. No wonder in the recent times the student suicide ratio has shot up. The entire process of education has become a mockery in itself. Oh! I forgot when it comes to teaching, preaching is not left behind. History books rewritten. Thankfully I cleared my school days years back.

Sexual and marital terror

It was not many days back; a news channel flashed a weird story a five-year-old kid raped. This is just one of the several incidences that occur everyday. Child sex abuse need not be always from a stranger but strange enough most often its from within the family in form of X, Y or Z. Also, it is not always the girl who is a victim but even young boys are victimized. Age, class, caste or religion doesn’t matter, when it comes to pleasure of ones sexes.
