What does Durga puja mean to a Bengali? Hmm, the most important festival, close to one's heart. Now, when you think of Durga Puja, which things come immediately in your mind? Well, a long vacation, decorated pandals, visiting these pandals with family and friends, and new dresses. Yes, exactly, new dresses.During this time of the year, don't know how much we spend for new dresses, and in addition to that craze,we do all kinds of reasearches over this matter!What's the latest fashion of that year, which kind of saree will go with which type of blouses...........the list is never-ending!
This year, I was also experiencing the same urge to buy some new clothes, and decided to buy some nice ethnic dresses. In the morning of Gandhi Jayanti, I started my shopping expedition along with my hubby, who is equally blind as me, in this matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We visited few shopping malls in Koramangala, but nothing I found that appealing. Either they were oversized, or overpriced. My hubby became indignant, and started making excuses like he can't walk anymore, he is feeling tired, blah blah blah............. I was myself feeling irritated, after spending so much time also I didn't find anything,this can't happen! It was around 4, when we finally discovered a small shop named awesome at the basement of a building. I felt desperate this time, and decided to give it a try.
Once we entered the shop, we were greeted by a cute salesperson, Miss Rose. She welcomed us in a pleasant manner,and enquired about my requirments. My hubby adjusted himself on a comfortable sofa, and watched some movie on a huge screened TV, while I was busy searching for dresses. They had a great collection. The ethnicwear section was full of beautiful dresses of wide variety, design, and sizes. I selected few, and tried those. The trail room was not in a good shape,it seems the shop is new, and the interior works are not yet done completely. However, I don't complain, I've got whatever I was searching for! The dresses fitted me exactly, as if they were made for me only. Not a li'l bit of alteration was required,however they offered alteration and sleeve attachment at free of cost. I didn't require one, and explored some more dresses. The quality of the materials were also good, and what's important, those dresses were not at all pricey.After selecting 3 dresses from this section, I proceeded with the mix and match section.
This section also had a wide variety of kurtas, bottomwear, and dupattas. I tried some kurtas,and Miss Rose was with me from the beginning. She advised to take the complete set,as it is much cost-effective. Next to this, the dress material section was there. I couldn't stop myself from taking one dress material from here, it was really much inexpensive compared to other shops. I felt happy with this experience. The salesgirl was so helpful to us, and showed exactly what customer support means. We paid the bill through credit cards, and Miss Rose packed all dresses and materials nicely into separate covers. The way she asked us to come back again, was genuine. She also said that she liked me very much (Ui maa!!!!!!!)! Finally when we came out of that shop, we realized that it didn't take more than 45 minutes for us to shop this much. There was not a big crowd, and we didn't have to wait for our turn in order to get or try something. The overall shopping experience was just Awesome, same as the name of that shop.I am going to do my next shopping from here only, and I have already suggested my friends for visiting the shop at least once. I think they will never be disappointed.
