Achayan's Kitchen, Sasthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram

Going to Kerala and missing a Toddy Shop(locally called KalluShapu) nourishment would be a wrongdoing. I have been to numerous however basically in Kollam and Alapuzzha Districts, the ones in Kumarakom are my top choices for the most part for its ocean bottom. Be that as it may, then you're back in Thiruvananthapuram and severely miss the nourishment, you have a place to go - Achayan's Kitchen in Sasthamangalam. Here you get everything from Homemade fish broil to Duck Mapas. The Karimeen Fry is my top pick. The feeling resemble a customary eatery and that is the main place where the eatery, a flavor shop like vibe would have made this place significantly all the more fascinating. It is open from 10 am and works till 10 pm during the evening, the place is jammed particularly toward the evening.

Going to Kerala and missing a Toddy Shop(locally called Kallu Shapu) food would be a crime. I have been to many but mainly in Kollam and Alapuzzha Districts, the ones in Kumarakom are my favorites mainly for its sea food.

But then you're back in Thiruvananthapuram and badly miss the food, you have a place to go - Achayan's Kitchen in Sasthamangalam. Here you get everything from Homemade fish fry to Duck Mapas. The Karimeen Fry is my favorite.

The ambiance is like a regular restaurant and that's the only place where the restaurant, a toddy shop like ambiance would have made this place even more interesting. It is open from 10 am and works till 10 pm at night, the place is crowded especially in the afternoon.

Everything is made in Coconut oil, which may be heavy for people with heart ailments but it is very tasty, almost every dish is heavy on the spicy side. It is also a bit heavy on the wallet when compared to other restaurants in Thiruvananthapuram, for 4 people it cost us around 1000, but it was well worth it.
