JAGJIT SINGH, MY FAVOURITE GHAZAL SINGER IS DESCRIBED AS THE ONLY PERSON IN INDIA POSSESSING A '' RUHANI AWAAZ'' AND WHY NOT??ITS THE FACT..THE WAY HE SINGS A GHAZAL IS REALLY FANTASTIC..THE TOUGHEST GHAZALS HAS BEEN PRESENTED BY HIM IN SIMPLEST WAY AND THE SIMPLEST GHAZALS IN TOUGHEST WAY..THATS THE STYLE OF JAGJIT SINGH..

JOURNEY (PART I & PART II) IS SIMPLY AN XTRAORDINARY COLLECTION OF GHAZALS.. I CAN ONLY TRY TO DESCRIBED IN MY WAY AS FOLLOWS:

(PART I)

1) BAAT NIKLEGI TO PHIR DOOR TALAQ JAYEGI, LOG BEWAJAH UDAASI KA SABAB POOCHENGE, YE BHI POOCHENGE KI TUM ITNI PARESHAN KYON HO?,UNGALIYAN UTTHENGI SOOKHE HUE BAALON KI TARAF,IK NAZAR DEKHENGI GUZRE HUE SALON KI TARAF...the ghazal has been presented in such a manner that while listening one can easily compare with one's own past days when one was in love..and it is depicting the truth that how people will react to one's affair..

2) DER LAGI AANE MEIN TUMKO ..just listen to the ups and downs jagjit singh has made in his voice..it must be really dificult but see there u can sense the proficiency in his voice..especially the lines where he has xplained the meanign of the words SHAFAK (KIRNE), DHANUK (RAINBOW), MEHTAAB (CHANDRAMA), GHATAYEIN (TO AAPKO MALUM HI HAI),TARE, NAGME BIJLI, PHOOL...he tries to be with the audience in front of him and sings/jokes acordingly..

3) APNI AANKHON KE SAMANDAR MEIN UTAR JAANE DE...one can just feel the passsion in his voice depicting a lover and the calmness in the music composed by him..

4) TUM NAHI GUM NAHI SHARAAB NAHI,AISI TANHAYEE KA JAWAAB NAHI..i would say jitni behtarin lyrics utni hi jaandar peshkash..especially the way he has sung lines like ..GAHE GAHE ISE PADHA KIJIYE,DIL SE BEHTAR KOI KITAAB NAHI..simply a soul thrilling voice..

(PART II)

1) HAZAARON KHWAHISHEN AISI KI HAR KHWAHISH PE DUM NIKLE,,BAHUT NIKLE MERE ARMAAN LEKIN FIR BHI KAM NIKLE..(GHALIB)..ab Mirza Ghalib ki Ghazalen Jagjit singh se behtar kaun gaa sakta hai..do tel me if I m erroneous.. the pronounciation of each urdu word, sher/nazm etc is done in the most explicit and tuned way...IF ONE HASN'T LISTEN TO MIRZA GHALIB ALBUM BY JAGJIT SINGH,ITS MY SINCERE REQUEST ONE SHOULD IF HE IS REALLY A FAN OF HIS.

2) MERI ZINDAGI KISI AUR KI..yet another masterpiece of Jagjit Singh Sahab.. how easily he has made the lyrics live in the lines like...TERE DS MEIN ,MERE BHES ME, KOI AUR THA KOI AUR HAI..

3) TUM ITNA JO MUSKARA RAHE HO...nothing but xcellent ghazal from an xcellent combination (SAATH SAATH-ARTH)..my favourite lines are ...REKHAON KA KHEL HAI MUKAADAR, REKHAON SE MAAT KHA RAHE HO..one can feel the emotions flowing out from his golden voice..

LAST BUT NOT AT ALL LEAST, I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO JAGJIT SINGH GHAZALS SINCE 7 YRS AND I ALONG WITH SOME OF MY CLOSE FRIENDS ARE REALY ARDENT FAN OF THIS GREAT MAN'S VOICE..I HAVE JUST SEEN ONE OF HIS LIVE SHOWS AND IT WAS SIMPLY AN EXQUISITE XPERIENCE FOR ME..I WISH IF CHITRA SINGH ALSO STARTS SINGING WITH HIM THEN THAT WOULD BE A PERFECT BLEND IN THE WORLD OF GHAZALS...I WISH THIS MELLIFLUOUS VOICE OF THE LEGENDARY PERSONALITY BE BESTOWED ON US FOR EVER...HOWEVER, HIS OLD ALBUMS WILL ALWAYS REMAIN GOLD FOR ME ...

This is a collection of few of the best Ghazals by Jagjit Singh. It comes in two volumes, two volumes filled with sadness, feelings and a flow of emotions.

Im not all that good in describing things but I will try my best to persuade you to beg steal or borrow this tape wether or not you are a ghazal fan.

Volume one starts with a sad song.. apne aakhon ke samundar mein utar jaane de.Common in all his ghazals, it feels like he is singing his heart. A sad slow ghazal with deep https://lyrics...Zakhm kitne teri chaahat se mile hai mujhko, sochta hoon ke kahoon tujse magar.. jaane de (No..Dont cry yet..there are more to come!)

The next ghazal I can remember is Apni Marzi se Kahan... This ghazal is more from a frustrated person, a person who is frustrated in life but is still happy with what he gets. As the lyrics go.. ''Apni marzi se kahan apne safar ke hum hai.. rukh hawaon ka hai jahan ka.. udhar ke hum hai..''. Great slow song..Makes you think that happiness dosent last forever.

''Aye Khuda''.. the next song. Like a person dying for someones love. Again deep https://lyrics.. ''Ayr khuda ret ke sehra ko samundar mein badal de..''. Sometimes when you think something is impossible.. just turns out to be possible.. infact ends up knocking at your door.

''Baat Niklegi Toh''..he is more like talking to a person in this ghazal. Hits your heart.. somepeople can use the things that he says in this ghazal and apply it in real life.

''Der lagi aane ko''.. was also in the movie Vijaypath. Nice lyrics but the tone is different. Wasnt bad..

''Kal Chaudhavi ki raat''.. Ahhh its one of my fav. Infact i made him sing this song in a concert (well with the support of other listeners). Could not find better way to praise someone.. Kal chaudhavi ki raat thi.. shabbar raha charcha tera..Kuch ne kaha ye chand hai.. kuch ne kaha ye chand hai.. Kuch ne kaha.. Chehra Tera!. The lyrics and the santoor (is that the right music instrument?) KILL me!!!

''Mai nashe mein hoon''..A person who is drunk.. does not care if he is loved or not .. a careless happy person. Free with all worries.. yes that how everyone wishes to be.

''Patthar ke Khuda'' - A man who has had a bad experience with love..but then who dosent? I dont exactly remember the lyrics but it goes.. woh jise tum pyar kehte ho.. usse hum jaan gudakar aaye hai..

Volume II..

''Ab mein ration ke kataron mein''A person from this generation may not like the https://lyrics.. or it just might not interest him. But it touching.. Ab mein ration ke kataron mein nazar aata hoon.. apne Kheton se bichadne ki saza paata hoon. Yes.. you can relate this to everything. Ive left BBAY for the time being and it SUCKS.

''Apne Haaton Ki Lakeeron''A guy deep in love..asking someone to make him her's. Or just craving for love.. as it goes.. ''mein zehar bhi pi jaaun.. shart ye hai ki baahon mein sama le mujhko..''

Pyar Mujse Jo A person being frank..maybe he is beat out by life. Kehte hai.. ''Pyar mujhse jo kiya tumne toh kya paaoge? Mere halaat ki aandhi mein bikhar jaaogi..''. Deep lyrics, awesome song.

Sadma to hai mujhe bhi A couple in love...who have to part at sometime. And after doing so.. they still think of each other.. Get the scene? Close ur eyes and imagine then play this song. Youll see them... ;)

Kaun Aaayega Yahan This song reminds me of summer 98'. Used to play it a lot.. like in a loop. Extremely sad song. When you cannot be where you want to be.. <i. Kaun ayega yahan.. koi ne aaya hoga.. mera darwaza hawaon ne hilaya hoga..'' :(

Tujhse Milne Ki SazaA guy who is not allowed to love..who will get hatred if he does love.. Sad voice, can relate to real life. Kya kabar thi..tere milne pe quamat hogi..mujhko deewana bana denge..tere sheher ke log''
