Samsung M150 User Reviews

Style Unlimited really...

I recently purchased the Samsung M150 handset for my brother after comparing a number of handset in the range of around Rs 3000. Let me share my experience with you regarding the handset.

  1. The handset looks fabulous in its metallic finish with light gray colour. In looks I can say that it is one of the best looking handsets in this price range.

  2. The mobile handset is a dual band handset and is compatible with all mobile service providers in India.

  3. It has a 65K TFT screen but quality wise it is much better than the 65K screens offered by Nokia or other manufacturers. Wallpapers look quite good on the screen while the same wallpaper looks dull on a Nokia handset having similar screen resolution.

  4. The handset has a grid based menu which has a nice design and the handset remembers the last action that we performed in the submenu and takes us automatically to the last position the next time we visit the same sub menu.

  5. The handset has a good battery backup and without any outgoing calls I found that the phone was on standby for around 6 days before the battery ran out of juice. During normal calling the handset was able to churn out 5 hours of calls before the battery ran out. I think it is a commendable performance for a handset that has a 800 mAH battery .

  6. Among the other features the handset supports FM recording, music player(almost useless as the handset does not have a memory slot), bluetooth(V2.0+EDR), Java, 64 Poly Ringtones etc.

The handset is very easy to use and can be used by any person who has not used Samsung handsets in the past. The FM reception is superb and the quality of the included earphones is also quite good though it may be a little larger in size for some people's ears. It has 3 inbuilt themes which can be applied to change the menu appearance of phones.

I must highlight another cool feature of this phone which is nowadays included in almost all high end Samsung mobile phones. This feature automatically searches the phonebook for the numbers you type while dialing a number and shows the names from the phonebook that has the numbers that you typed in, thus in a way reducing the user's effort in typing the whole number.

The phone has Bluetooth v2.0 support and successfully worked with a Samsung SBH500 Bluetooth headphone as well as a Nokia BH209 Bluetooth headset. File transfer from other bluetooth enabled handsets were also effortless. The camera is also good in spite of it being just a VGA camera, it has a number of features and effects that can be applied to take that perfect photo. It also supports MPEG4 video recording.

I would have seriously expected that Samsung included the memory card slot in this handset but the price at which it retails, I could not have asked for more. The keypad is a little on the harder side, but after some days you would get used to it.

I would recommend this handset to all who are interested in owning a stylish and affordable handset. Samsung is really making good entry level phones which has all the features offered by other manufacturers in the same category and by introducing some nifty little features that are unique to Samsung, I think Samsung has a winner on its hands.
