Zenith Corporate Notebook

Hi Everyone,

Today I want to share my personal experience about Zenith Corporate Notebook.I had purchased this notebook in the month of September 2016.This laptop price is low when compare with other brands so this made me to buy this notebook.But I am disappointed with its performance.This notebook is small and very comfortable to handle.After two months of use, it was not at all working good.The main issue with this notebook is it is over heating and the battery backup is very poor.The performance is also very slow it takes a time to turn on and turn off.It hangs up when we browse or play games.I am really very much disappointed with this notebook.The quality of the product is also not good.

I would not recommend this notebook to anyone as it is a waste of money if you buy this product.So buyers choose some better option than this product.

My friend bought this laptop one year ago. from that date it got repaired for more than 10 times. it was the biggest mistake done by him because he went for a such a cheap price laptop with cheap configuration. the build quality is also very cheap. the repairing cost him more than the cost price of the laptop. while playing games on it it becomes very hot like a heater. the product is total waste of money. the service is very poor and need to be maintained.

This is one of the best electronic company in work.ii work so smoth.u can buy nice device worth of small money

This laptop have good battery useg as I used my self a good ram with speed. And a good procceser with high speed to and nice camra with good snap .i recomend every one to huy tjis device worth of low. Money

I bought this laptop two years ago.  From thwn it was my biggest mistake as I went for its cheap price tag.  Within 2 months I had to change the touchpad,  screen and the cd rom drive.  This is not a laptop,  it's just a box of electronic bullshit irems.

Made of cheap local quality product to reduce the MRP and make immense profit of it. Such companies should be also.  Si they take extra charge for shipping of new products.  Ober heating issues are common.  Its acts like an oven while playing game  on it.  It's not safe to use it!

I purchased Zenith PC in Sept 2009 with 3 yrs warranty. During the last 2.5 ys, it has been down for more than 6 months - mother-board problem, monitor issues and other break-down. Its not starting up again and the dealer (Durga Computer in Noida) is saying he's not responsible to provide service after 1 yr (sounds like he has been doing a favour so far) and Zenith customer care head says I should get the computer to their centre - onsite service is to be provided by the dealer - passing the buck around.

Overall, poor build quality. The 3 yrs warranty helped though there were long spells of down-time. Shall not recommend this to anyone.

I yearn to see Indian products especially in the technology space. That is why the Zenith brand makes me so proud. What stops us Indians from designing better that Ipad?

Must say though that recently at a visit to an electronics store, I had to look out for Zenith products.whilst the other brands kept popping up .

I think that Zenith must take notice of this step up its point of sale or it will loose business.

Please don't buy this crap just by seeing the graphic card.i bought this crap 8 months ago i got the keypad prob twice.it doesn't even have a beauty for it's self.its just a big box full of s**t.

It has got a very poor build quality a doesn't even emphasizes on using an original version of os. What is inside is only locally made electronic items.they only matters about reducing the price please don't buy this.

I highly recommend you people to go for dell or hp laptops.

I have director plus ultra notebook. It is soooo good to see and craved to excellence.finishing is really good.

I am using this laptop since 25 days.The operating Speed is excellent. it is really fast as bullet train. Compared to others ha ha dell and hp /acer there is not configuration available at this time. they are only limited to T6400 processors only..at most you find p7350 processors.

I have installed windows vista 64 bit in 13min and 44 sec which 32bit vista in my 2.4 ghz machine would take at least 35 minutes to install. that means rapid fast. I am basically software engineer and working on ecllipse and visual studio 2008..and jboss servers .it really suits my need with extreme low price 42, 500 all enclusive.

I have installed windows 7 beta x64 also the speed and graphics are good.

configuration you all know

processor rapid fast p8400 processor

, 4gb 667mhz ram,

nvdia 9600gtx graphic card 512 gddr3,

webcam, and so on...

i recomend to buy this machine...its really excellent and I heard they r going to bundle the next processor p9400 processor with this laptop from next month its awasome.

and the final doubt ZENITH!! right..Zenith is company from over 30 years in the market. older then what you call dell(hell in price), and others. I remember I used to see the zenith monitors in when I was in 5th standard.

so zenith why not famous?

answer is so simple the company belives in getting the best configuration to its customers in very less amount rather than wasting money in making adds and wasting on filmstars...thats why........

so convinced to buy zenith???

or if you have more money in you and want to throw your money in then buy others with very less configuration and giving rs10, 000 more for the same..

All though I have my official laptop I wanted own a personal one, with all the desktop features...

so just went for it and truly I was also amazed and attracted by the prize tag too..proud to buy Indian product...

Agony

Perhaps my happiness ended in a day, and suffer started.

Laptop working only on powersupply battery not functioning

Solution:

while on tour, Went searching Pune office, problem solved after lot of

troubleshooting and technical support from all over India and Singapore.

Problem was the bios, Bios changed.

30/8/05

Laptop started dumping, blue screen, and memory error.

Problem not solved, but I have to purchase additional

512 ram in assumption of problem may be solved by up gradaing ram.

5/9/05

Laptop started dumping frequently, finally landed at Zenith regional service center.

solution:

Problem solved but took almost 2 weeks;

They replaced motherboard, significant change of component.

Laptop went to Goa Office so consumed time in transportation.

(some Minute scratch marks appeared in handling )

9/12/05

Problem Battery charging only up to 27 %, battery not supporting,

no backup, switches off on power failure etc.

solution:

Problem Solved Battery Replaced, Battery was faulty,

but again took 10 days reason non-availability of battery.

There are still more issues but due to charactes space im avoiding to publish.

Grievances:

During these happenings, I have talked with all Zeniths major officers, one of the

regional officer even committed, that if any problem occurs we will replace the Laptop.

But when I raised the request for solution, no one was ready to abide the same.

Plead:

N number of calls to VP india operations, regional office, dealer etc....

Please give me some alternate solution, even I am ready to pay extra amount if required,

but give me some quality product and service commitment and stop my sufferings permanently

Warning:

After discussing with the lawyer, I send a formal notice to all zenith concerns stating I am seeking Consumer court help for my sufferings.

Immidetely calls started flowing from all accross Zenith for replacement and to avoid futher legal hassels.

Time Killing:

after assurance time killing started, "we will dispatch tommorrow, next week ....blah blah"

Conclusion:

Finaly I recd the replacement on 10/06/06.....but again the same problems started occuring like dumping etc....after coupleof visits to the main office...replacement of Ram problem solved.

Well guys I might have bored u......it sucks to read all the "Ram katha"....but to know the consumer suffreings, I had to elobrate all the happenings and majorly to understand the Proudct value, service and support.

All that what I recd from the manufacturer is a

1) Worst product assembled some where in china, singapore.

2) A very bad time killing irresposible service support.

3) And the experience to deal with Indian product manufacturer trying to go globaly, letting them undestand what the consumer is and his Rights.

So finally Friends dont Buy any Zenith Products.....dont fall prey to false promises and cheap value.

Hi. I have a Zenith computer too a PIII, the one I'm using now... and a word of caution to all planning to purchase zenith computers...

The build quality is ok, in the sense not good and not bad, i.e as good as an assembled one...

The bad points.... their boards do contain some proprietary form of components, like a network or modem connection which might plug in to the motherboard using non standard connectors which might not be replaceable by all and sundry thus putting you at the mercy of Zenith and forcing you to pay whatever they demand. In many cases they might be standard components but masked by some complicated looking thing like a black box full of potting compound so you cannot make out the chip number.

Phillips used to do this on their radios and cheap electronics manufacturers used to do something similar by using sand paper to rub off the IC number to ensure that you have to run to them for repairs.

Another interesting thing to note is that Zenith does not put up drivers for download on their site! Intel does, IBM does and most if not all of the big companies do. I had to wait for windows xp sp2 (which autodetected the hardware) for me to use my onboard network card and modem. Till then I had to diable them in BIOS and use standard PCI ones... I bought it second hand so I didnt receive any cd.. so I dont know whether they provide it on CD.

If you plan to use Linux, better avoid it like the plague, although I've still managed to run Debian on it.

From my personal experience I'm advicing you not to go for zenith products ever.

I'm typing this message from my zenith computer only. I bought it for 36k(with UPS, combo drive and all that). I got the motherboard, combo drive, floppy drive replaced within 3 months of the purchase. And to get this replacement work done I had to visit their office hundred times. The floppy drive was not tested properly after the replacement as I didn't have a good floppy and that guy also didn't bring one.

The replaced one has never succeeded to open a brand new floppy. I tried with

different new floppies and then I gave in as I didn't have time to make 100 requests. Zenith services are horrible. The computers are poor in quality. Please

dont make a mistake by buying a zenith product. You could buy a branded computer

with same configuration and with the same money. Then why go for this ill-branded

product??

About 4 months back I bought the Zenith Laptop model ''Director'' for home use.

Standard configuration :

Intel Centrino 1.Ghz CPU with 256 MB RAM, Features included: Wireless LAN ready, DVD with CD writer, 1EEE 1394 Firewire port, 10/100 Ethernet and Dial-up Port,

Two USB ports.

I upgraded the laptop with additional 256 MB RAM and loaded genuine MS Win-XP professional which bottomed out my total expenditure to INR 46K inclusive of all taxes. The laptop was purchased in Oct'2005. The price was very competitve at that time and I am sure that the same config'd laptop is now available for better price from other vendor.

Why did I choose Zenith?

Basically for the reason that it is an Indian company and I know this company for the past 15 years. Prices of the laptop was competitive. I liked the light weight ''Director'' model which fits my specs and requirements. It had all the features I needed for my home laptop.

Firewire port:

The Firewire port is basically a IEEE 1394 spec'd interface for connecting your camera or Firewire ready devices. I use it for connecting my handycam.

Note that the Vendor does not supply the cable along with the laptop and it is a optional item. I had tough time sourcing this cable in Bangalore - or I did not go to the right place.

How to recognize the Firewire port? The size of the port is half the size of a USB port and slightly bent inwards when looked from the top. You need to buy the IEE 1394 cable to use this port. Refer to the manual of the device you intend to connect and also you will need the required drivers to connect the device to the laptop.

Service from the Vendor:

Nothing to write about. Neither did I have a need to call them nor did I require them after the first initial setup which was done by Zenith service person. Laptop is user friendly to use. I like to courtesy extended by the service guy to work late evening and complete the instalation at my home.

I did try loading the Linux OS and desktop. After several headaches of searching for reqd drivers to enable my onboard Soft-modem which miserably did not work - I switched over to genuine Windows-XP pro. So, the cost of my laptop has gone up by 6K rupees. However, I have no regrets as I am quite happy with the OS and laptop too has been certified to work better with XP.

Why did I choose laptop for home use?

I needed a laptop at home for relaxed internet browsing while I enjoyed the music in my terrace garden or be it while watching cartoon network along with my kids. Huddling onto a desktop PC was very boring and kept me away from the action room of my family. With the prices of laptop's crashing I prefered to take a laptop rather than an another desktop PC.

I do have a company provided top end laptop. But somehow I dont feel relaxed when I use the same at home. I tend to get on with my official work rather than use it for personal use.

A strange thing that I observed was that the laptop used to get heated up very fast when it was running on WIN-2K and Linux. However, when I changed over to WIN-XP Pro - I could notice a reduction in heat generated and the noise level of the fan.

I have bought Zenith Laptop (Model: Director) early this year in January. I am satisfied with the product but product support is pathetic. I have asked them to customize this product with increased RAM and original Windows XP Pro. OEM, they did upgrade the RAM but even after hundreds of phone call they never gave me the Original OEM CD...what I got is the copied CD. They have no hesitations making false promises because it was a verbal commitment about the original OEM, I feel cheated now.

Besides this I have recently faced some issue with DVD reader(CD thing working).. I have CD (Reader Writer with DVD reader) I emailed to their CONTACT US email id (taken from their website) telling them that DVD reader is not working for me. I have not got any acknowledgement or response from their side.

What are the options for me?? Any help in this regard would be appreciated.
