Compaq Presario V2384 TU

I am having V6316TU  notebook and company say that it is built with a dual core processor, but surprisingly I am not able to detect that whether mine is a dual core notebook . Can any one help me detecting the presence of dual core processor in it.

Common I am not writing an essay of 150 words. This itself is a problem with mouthshut.com and needed to be sorted out as why one should complete 150 words when purpose can be solved with lesser words. My dear mouthshut.com people will stop giving comments if it remains like that.

Still I am not able to submit. This is really s*cking and nothing else. I am going to try it again just wait.

Still not how harassing it can be and still looking for more words I have lost all the words can any one help in looking for the words.

Compaq Presario v6316TU completed my search on value for money notebook PC. It came at a price tag of 37000. It has a Pentium dual core processor 1.7 ghz, Intel 945 GM chipset, 512 MB RAM, 2 USB ports, 80 GB SATA HDD,  s video out, monitor port, DVD writer and a 15 inch WTFT screen.

There are other brands in the same price tag like Dell Inspiron with athlon processor, Acer with athlon processor. From my experience of using Acer notebook I can safely say that AMD is still not upto speed for the notebook technology. The acer notebook used to get heated up real fast. This Compaq notebook scores much better because of the intel chip.

Coming back to v6316TU, The back of the screen  is ash black in colour and looks great.The keyboard is black. The SATA HD drive is rather a handicap if you are installing windows XP  on it. The notebook comes with a free DOS but to install XP you will need the SATA drivers which needs to be installed from a floppy drive. So you will need an external USB floppy drive to install SATA drivers. Installing linux should be hassle free. I don’t know if they have fixed this in Vista. There are 2 USB ports but I wish it had more. The TFT screen is pretty good and makes watching movies a good experience. You also have a monitor port which can be used to connect to your external CRT monitor .The altec lancing speakers are by far the best I have seen on laptops. Trust me when I say it, I have used Dell inspiron, Sony viao, Acer NW series laptops but their built in speakers are very ordinary. This one stands out. The battery backup is pretty good and it complements the Intel chip. Machine is quite fast on 512 MB RAM and does not need any RAM upgrade. Overall v6316 works like a dream. If you are looking for a budget notebook PC this should be it.

A shining steel colour steals the show. Well its not a proverb by some shakespeare or Wordsworth. Its just the talking about this masterpiece - COMPAQ V2384 TU Notebook.

We had owned a Compaq PC for over 6 yrs. Now it was the time to go for a Notebook. Our first choice was compaq. We are not business people. So we had already ticked off HP and lenovo from our list. So we wanted a piece that can give us the maximum in minimum. So celeron was our first choice.

Starting with the looks - Oh tantalizing!! The silver coloured body with a blackish scratch proof backscreen gives the perfect look to it. Its gota mouse pad with a scroll - so sensitive that u just touch it, u got it.

Its got in all 3 USB ports, one extendable port, ports for modem and LAN, a slot for TV Tuner or ZTE card, a PS2 Mouse port and DVD Combo drive.

Starting with performance - U need to install Windows XP in it. THe processor is 1.5 Ghz with 256 MB RAM. Celeron M Processor- its NOT Slow. Of course its fast. at least for normal home and office users like us. The 14' widescreen TFT with self adjusting brightness is superb.

The offers? Well when we got it, we availed the offer of a free Internet ZTE card (reliance) with it. Also a free VMICRO USB PC camera to go with it. All this - for Rs 36,990 (with a carry bag

After using it for almost 7 months now, find it absolutely superb. I can proudly say - Yes, I have COMPAQ.
