Wi5 is closing its operation?!

I think WI5 is being closed, no one picks up the call in the customer care. No response! for last 3 weeks. Next month please confirm before paying.

  1. If they are still operating then - what is the reason that no one picks up the call?

  2. The connection gets disconnected often from last month.

  3. When ever we try to reach them, it rings and they never pick up!

  4. I am really getting tired of this, I work from home and the connection goes of without any prior notice for the whole day starting from last month.

If you are trying to take new connection:


Please note that the speed they provide is not good for a 1mbps connection. I asked for 2mbps and they recommend that it will not work. Please take a better connection, I paid Rs.2000 for the installation and I had no choice and sticking to them. You never know when the connection goes off and if you work from home - you are screwed.

Trick to get about 500kBps (3Mbps) download speed

Hi I am from mysore and a user of wi5 and I get 78% signal strength. I  use 606 unlimited plan ( tax included). I am also receiving the  promised speed .


well I just recently found out some trick so to get the  speed of about 3Mbps (utorrent & IDM6.08 tested). well all of u know the logout  id rite


(  well if u dont its ap.logout type it in addressbar.) It will be needed cause this speed will not be gained from your account. yes it will work without any account loged on


what u need to do is


1) download the torrent file from any sites.


open it with your torent downloader save it to specific location and start to download


(just as u do normally)


2) now  wait until all DHT nodes updates ..


3) now stop the download


NOTE: dont quit it cause all DHT uploaded will be gone


4)now logout from u r id ie use above address


5) now again start the torrent  ........it might take a little wile to  start but once started it will even reach 500kBps ie 3.9Mbps .


note: most of the time , it will  not work for ur first time u logou, t so please dont get mad at me keep  trying from step3 for some 6 to 9 times .


Even I am doing the same,   normally I do it 3 to 5 times. But first time it needs more .

Services Shut Since 31st May 2013

I am one of those unfortunate people who had no option other than Wi5, and I will have to say that it worked fine for some time.


But I can not tell you in words how horrible, pathetic, disgusting and hopeless its services are. They simply stopped the services on 31st of May and there customer care just vanished. I sent someone to there Jaipur office yesterday just to find that I has been locked for last 5 days.


I can not believe how a company can cheat its customer like this. I am surely going legal and request all of the fellow Wi5 customers to make these cheaters pay.

Truly a Shame in the name of ISP

Wi5 truly is a shame in the name of all ISP. The only way they attract customers is by their truly unlimited plans. But considering the amount of downtime they have every week its just a good for nothing hopeless and totally worthless ISP. And more notably the downtimes occurs more on weekends when the need for net is more.


In terms of horrible service it has a class of its own. They take days sometimes weeks to resolve issues. Who cares if they have a customer care to take calls.


Try calling them and see how many times they pick up. Their customer care number even stays out of range and switched off. Their toll free number just keeps ringing and never pick up. Luckily if they pick up your call and generate a complain number, it's worthless as they don't take action on time. They even close complains with flimsy reasons.


They have wasted my time on multiple occasion. The regional office calls up tells they'll be sending someone to fix my connection but they come only after 2-3 assurances of coming. As I stay bit far from my office I have to leave my work and come home hoping that they'll be resolving my issue. But shamelessness unprofessionalism has no bounds when it comes to a company like Wi5 which is driven by no values. In-spite of explaining every time about my problem they still keep wasting my time giving false assurances.


Well I'm writing this review using my phone modem connected to gprs coz my wi5 connection is down since saturday and yet no signs of getting fixed even though its Tuesday night. A warning to all people who want internet for personal use.stay out of wi5 for your own good. If any corporate user is reading this review then be sure not to take wi5 ever. It'll be the doom for your company.


I HATE WI5. YOU ARE THE WORST ISP ON EARTH.

I am writing this with full anger. If any of wi5 people call me here after I will slap them on the face. The connection is down for the past 3 days and no one bothers. By mistake I took this connection for 6 months. Never ever go near them.


Worst speed I have ever seen. And 100 times we need to call the customer support. And the customer support people doesnt know what they are talking. How can they be soo dumb??


I was wondering how 23% of people recommended this and it seems WI5 people have posted many reviews in mouthshut and they have increased the count and hits. How funny.

Low Bandwidth

I am using WI5 broadband 1MBPS plan for past 6 months and most of the time connection is poor.


these people using intranet connection and says it as broadband. They have 16MBPS downlink and share it for the users(customers) when sharing increases , speed decreases. I don't know how do they do it.


Starting from 4Pm - 11pm the connection won't respond to even open Google page. I called the local dealer as well as the customer care but no use..the service men came and took some screen shot and went away , I called him afterwards and asked wat happen to my problem then he simply replied that".They have been requesting the corporate office for increase their downlink speed".


So please guys don't go for Wi5 broadband and if you have no choice buy a basic connection at least save your money.


My recommendation is don't go for WI5.

It is a very poor network I had seen. I agree with one of the comments. Their technical team doesn't know about anything. One of the technical team member told me that For 512kbps plan the uploading speed is just 16 kbps. It s very pathetic that they doesn't know about anything about the internet service. The customer service are not responding and I had a strange time with them. I had no time to tell the full story.


Don't fool yourself by becoming a member of this network. Its my request.

Worst Speed, Utter waste Customer Service


Issue 1: Worst Speed


Due to Very Very Worst Speed andBad Customer Service I want to cancel my existing Wi5 account with Immediate effect.


I'm using INFINITY 1000 unlimited    1 Mbps    Plan. I paid around 3000 Rupees for 3 Month. I got the connection on 31 Oct and up to this minutes the speed is very very bad.


Issue 2: Worst Customer Service


Since from last week I'm not able to connect with network. The reason is cable connection was loose and it came out from Modem.


To Fix this issue I'm calling your contact person Hari and till now the issue is not addressed. Worst Customer Service. I would have made close to 15 no of calls. But Issue Not yet Fixed.

Pathetic customer service

Pathetic... worst ever customer service..  Their  technical team is not trained properly, they dont even check connection and if some issue occurs they dont repair it on time.. they jus pass buck to another dept.


Even for new connection, they will make u sweat before they they provide any new connection, then comes their service, which is worst ever. I have used 5 ISPs so far but this one was worst.. call me to know more about it.

Just a name, no connection

I bought the connection for my parents on the 9th of June, the technicians came home, set it up, it worked beautifully.... till the technicians left! I called up the customer care, I myself am a technician and know how to sort out wireless issues but I couldnt fix it... the technicians came over, it worked without them having to do anything, it worked beautifully again... till the technicians left!!!! They informed me its related to my computer at home, I changed the Operating system on my machine, same issue... again the technciian came, it worked fine and again it stopped once they left... I got another machine... no fix, the technician came again... everything again worked fine...


Obviously, only till they left.. in 15 days time, I called the call centre atleast 10 times, I called the technicians directly atleast 20 times, I have asked for a refund since day 1 but they only said they will fix it... the internet never worked, we couldnt even open 1important email... after threatening them multiple times, I finally get a call from them stating I would get a refund... but guess wat, thats a partial refund... they are not giving me a refund for the modem and are deducting 350 rupees since we had the connection for 9 days????!!!!! thats outrageous!!! For all I care, they should be giving me a refund for all the calls I made and the mental stress I went through!!!

Spectranet Broadband Service ! Worst ever Internet

Spectranet Internet has the worst possible Broadband Internet service and Customer care facility in Bangalore!


They have pre paid scheme(30/60/90 days) and once you pay the money and start using the Internet you will find that it only works for 4 days in a week. Rest of the time they claim that the Fiber Cable has been cut underground due to which Internet is not working.


So this is their offer!


You have to pay them 2000 bucks upfront as "Installation fee" to the Cable Guy who has taken the Spectranet Franchise in your area and then you have to buy the Internet Package which is Pre Paid offer+ 20% Tax on it. So for a 2 MBPS line for 30 days you will be charged Rs 2000 Installation and then Rs 2100 after tax!


They have the worst Customer Service personnel who hang up when you call in asking for information!


Just to test contact 080-42400100 and say that you are living in Bannergatta road and your Internet is not working see how rude they behave.


I am already suffering by taking their internet connection as I have paid them a lot of money. Please do not make the mistake of taking Spectranet! You are better off with some other provider.


I read some other forum regarding Spectranet services and It appears this is something "normal" for Spectranet to be provider such a Pathetic service and cheating people all over the country.

WI5 an alternative to LandLIne

I got this connection recently on 2.12.2010 and from the day one I haven't experienced any problem with the network, it  has been  consistently giving the promised speed.


After reading all the reviews listed in mouthshut I was really quite confused about whether going for it or not as there were contrasting comments about it.


SO I DECIDED TO GO FOR THE CHEAPEST OFFER OF 256 KBPS WITH 2GB USAGE (PRICED AT RECHARGE OF RS.275 WITH AN INITIAL INSTALLATION CHARGE OF RS.500/-- AS AN OFFER WHICH IS OTHERWISE  RS.1500)  AND ITS A PREPAID ONE  SO THERE CANT BE ANY FALSE BILLING ISSUES WHICH WAS A COMMON TROUBLE WITH MY PREVIOUS RELIANCE NET-CONNECT DATA CARD.


Then after contacting the  (ERODE) FRANCHISEE I came to know that they are not actually going to provide me with any wi-fi signal directly reaching my laptop, but would place a receiver on the terrace and the receiver would receIve the signal from their tower and the receiver would be CONNECTED TO MY LAPTOP  THROUGH A WIRE. (OF COURSE WE HAVE TO SACRIFICE THE FREEDOM OF MOBILITY OF OUR LAP WHILE CONNECTED FOR THE SAKE OF GOOD SIGNAL STRENGTH).


Thus I was quite contented about any signal strength problems as the receiver is being placed


on top. This made me opt for it as I was damn sure that there would be signal problems with other data cards and I cannot go for land line as I don't have any address proof for my residence, because I was staying in a rented room near by my college . In my experience till now I feel that they are doing a great job. (They even accepted to give me a connection in the name of my neighbor providing his address proof).


CONS:


PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE NOT CARRIED AWAY BY WHAT THEY CLAIM AS A WI-fi CONNECTION. Till now(8.6.2011)  They are only providing wired connection with wireless receiver on your terrace, provided you have a good signal strength at you terrace.


== Never think about  the possibility of roaming, because even if you want to use from another place in your same street you need to have the same above mentioned setup shifted with a shifting cost of RS.500==


Regarding the plans they have both limited and unlimited plans and you can opt for any plan (plans vary with speed alone) by recharging for the respective one.


SO I AM UNAWARE OF THE QUALITY OF THEIR WI-FI (CONNECTION DIRECTLY FROM TOWER TO LAPTOP) SERVICE BUT THE WAY IAM CONNECTED ITS WORKING REALLY COOL DESPITE RESIDING AT PLACE 15 KMS AWAY FROM ERODE

Wi5 is really Hi5

I am staying in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. I took Zylog Wi5 connection in April 2010 with 1mbps unlimited plan for Rs. 899+tax. I paid for six months in advance and saved Rs.1500 on installation charges. My user id is A8243317. As I am staying in an apartment I could not get the signal from the Access Point. So, A customtakeouter Premises Equipment(CPE), a small receiver box had been set up at the top of my building to get better signal.


On day 1 the speed was 950kbps, even on today(December 17, 2010) the speed is between 940-960kbps. After the completion of six months I haven recharged my connection for next three months and got a bonus period of 10 days. The maximum no of days I had problem with the connection is 4 days between 13/11/2010 to 16/11/2010 due to server problem at the back-end, and they assured me to extend the validity for the 4 days on which there was no connection.


I don't know what kind of problems other customtakeouters are facing, but as far as I am concerned, I am totally satisfied with their service. In another review one person wrote that wi5 customtakeouter care people are not giving complaint nos. to customtakeouters. But it is not true. Every time when there is a problem with my connection (VERY RARE) I call customtakeouter care and lodge complaint with them and get the complaint nos. like SU10062206, RK10111317.


I don't know how far the other customtakeouters' accusations about WI5 is true. I am totally satisfied with their service and I give 100/100 for their service, whether it is regarding to speed or service.

I would like to mention some facts about Wi5 so that people don't lose their money like me.


1) The connection speed claimed is a shared one (they will tell you after you purchase the same). My download speed was fluctuating between (20KBps - 55KBps) for 512Kbps speed plan.


2) The more the number of users, connection speed will be lowered. Irrespective of the plan you purchase.


3) You will have worst experience during Sundays when most users log into the internet. The connection is worst than a dial up service during these times.


4) If you want to use torrent forget Wi5. Since it is a shared network with a local network IP, torrent can't work properly.


5) Wi5 works in a franchise model. So the company is not interested to know what is happening inside the franchise and the experience is solely based on the type of franchise guy who is going to deal with you. You don’t get a professional service. Any complaint made about the franchise to the company will be forwarded to the franchise. So the franchise is not bother about your complaints.


6) The 24x7 customer care people have the most standard answer “Your problem will be quickly resolved”. But nothing happens. You don’t even get a complaint number. So I wonder how they track the complaints. Sometimes the 24x7 call center is closed. The mail to their office bounces.


7) Lastly I purchased the six month plan in advance for the free installation. Now I cannot return my connection. Though I was promised that I can return the connection if I am not satisfied. It is not possible after my month long following up. So your money is one way route to the company. Forget the money after paying.


8) I prefer a wired DSL (any network) over wireless Wi5 networks.


If you still want to purchase the Wi5 connection just take a one month plan and try it first, don’t pay in advance and lose your money. Don’t fall prey to the promises made by sales people.

Cheap rate and cheap connection

I shifted to my new house in Selaiyur, Chennai. I wanted a affordable broadband connection and I took Wi5 after seeing their big promises. My used id is C4517448. I took for six months for which I don't need to pay Rs.1500 installation fees. I was getting very less speed in the morning and evening times. After three months I was not able to even browse and there was around 50% packet loss in these timings. After repeated calls two persons came after around two week. They were not able to solve.


Again some other team came and they also did able to solve. Again the area manger came and he also not able to solve. I got from the service people that this connection is in sharing basis and cannot be solved until the bandwidth is increased. So I asked for refund. The customer care told me that I will get the refund amount within two weeks and I stopped using it. But its been almost two month there is no information from them. I called several times. When ever I call them they used to tell that they don't have any information and will call within two days.


I strongly recommend not to go for this type of cheap connections.

Wi5- Cheap broadband

Cheap is generally used as a world that describes something which is low priced. Strictly something is cheap if the quality that you get for the low price is also cheap, bad or pathetic. Wi5 taught me an important lesson. History of service, strong infrastructure and knowledgeable people are very important before subscribing to any service.


What Wi5 has is an unreliable backbone ISP in the form of Reliance, an infrastructure made of of hay and twigs(which very often and easily breakdown) and staff who are no more than automatic voice response machines.


I agree that 550 r.s. including taxes is the least that you will pay for 1mbps connection and that too wireless. I was also promised that I could roam around with my wifi enabled devises in all areas of active service and browse the net on the go. I was also promised the best of services and infrastructure, Zylog system's name was also freely used to make me feel comfortable. After 100s of registered complaints, erratic net speeds ranging from 15kpbs to 400 kpbs, and highly unreliable net availability, the latest being to the tune of 5 continuous days, I gave up. I have asked for a refund of the money and am planning to switch to more established players


I always felt that none of the ISPs in India adhere to the true sense of broadband which is considered to be "Always On", Wi5 has provided a definition of its own by being sometimes on that too based on the service providers convenience. So much for my cribbing and complaining, the service provider is not going to change. Iam still in shock from what the customer service rep told me, "Sir we have some(not some) backend problem" and I ask him how come they have a backend problem for 5 days and he says, "Sir downtime is normal an inevitable" .


My humble request, kindly go by the reputation of the service provided by the organization and do not experiment with such cheap service providers. I realized the importance of having internet access thanks to Wi5

For past 3 months I am using this connection on my friends recommendation, Compare to other BB services it is more better. Tariff is damn cheap, 3 of my friends are having this connection its working fine.I have a habit of lot of movies for torrents.It is fast and reliable.


Customer support is ok. Performance level is good.Being a new company they are providing good service.I have already have a reliance data card with me but it is not reliable at all time.


I could connect my laptop to their hot spots around Chennai. I recommend this connection those who read this review.

It's quiet simple, best and affordable, I used this connection for 4 months I feel best, u can feel wow..!, now I sharing my experience of wi5, its 100 times better than AIRTELl, BSNL, RELIANCE, TATA INDICAM DATA Card, it is hardly disconnect.


In case the an issue they rectify issue within few moment, service is good.because the y have well qualified people in and around the customer service.they grow from Chennai now the expand their wings all over tamil nadu and AP and karnataka, now they going put the footprint in punab &gujarat in very soon.


Let say bye for ABRTI and lets welcome wi5.

It is a superb connection for rural areas, because till now we dont have coverage of any other internet service providers, Wi5 only giving affordable price and reliable connection.At the same time they provide a support and service.


I suggest you all to take this connection.In the mean time I request to Wi5 If you will provide a coverage to all over India we will get rejoice.


Wi5 providers giving good speed at all time, in the peak hours also they provide a good speed like dedicated connection. Here Wi5 having god customer support for us at all time, They only having 24/7 call centre (toll free).....Thank You!

This is the best service I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend this broad band to all my friends. This is better than Airtel, Reliance, BSNL and Tata also.


I am using this service for the last 6 months and I hardly faced any disconnection and even if there is a disconnection it is resolved immediately.


when ever I face issues with the internet service, I would directly call the senior people in the organization and they are very helpful. I don't see any other ISP doing this or any senior person talking to me in a very professional manner.
