Tata Indicom- black spot on Tata's name

One of my closest friend recommended me about Tata Indicom and I have bought it but frankly speaking it has just ruined evrything.


Talking about 'Speed of ISP connection ' it has got pathetic speed as worse as 2G. Even proper googling is not possible at that speed. I sont remember when I have got speed more than 200 kbps.


Now if I have to say about ' Connection Reliability', although it is backed by a reputed name- Tata but my experience is with it is revealing its dubious character. These people are really passive towards customers and hardly they concern about your problems and the connection is tending to be malfunctioned in every two or three days. So here the connection reliabilty is lost, as per me.


As I have already talked, If I review about its ' Service and Support' , so I am unable to understand that do these people rewlally want to give service? I have got my malfunctioned system repaired after a waiting of the whole one month that too after when I was continuosly calling them up.


So I personally will not recommed anyone to go for it.

Tata indicom is the only network which I used last month . this was not a good experience it's isp speed is not at all good speed is thing which we are looking for in a international network provider it's customer service is also not good .


I don't remember whether anything is good in this. if something good might be there in this network then it won't exist for long time .it is so bad that I just don't want to write anything about it . now what I want is to go to mouthshut and read reviews about some good isp and then install them.

Thus is a not internet provider and very cheap speed provide to all user's and this is a worst company to provide very waeak speed to tata indicom user's.


This is a not good choice to use internet or somes plan's for a internet this is cheap and not batter thank other internet provider and I really dispointing to use this service and my money is waitages all to use this cheap service.


I wanna use this network las two month and I faced many problem to use internet speed and sone fluctuates speed not proper access tge internet and I not again use tgis service ever becuse this service charges very high and performance very weak to use internet. It was a not good choice to higher speed internet.

This service is launched initially by the TATA group with the launch of mobile phones in the market. It initially provided Simless CDMA service such that we cannot see and touch the sim inside the phone.


This CDMA service provides more reliable and secure services that other users cannot access and use it. This service launched by TATA received great responses from the customers as it is delivered with huge offers such as unlimited talktime to TATA to TATA customers in the country.


This feature was soon followed by the other service providers such as Reliance, Idea. But today with the advancement of technological trends in terms of mobile services our customers attracted to GSM mobile phones so that we can change any number of services as our wish by simply replacing the desired SIM in the phone.


This became the drawback for those TATA Indicom phones whose services are limited to a few customers and few areas. Then it also launched the GSM service named TATA DOCOMO with the japanese partner Docomo. It also succeed in it by launching a new plan in terms of talktime offers that is second pulse we will pay only for the number of used seconds.

I am using tata indicom walkey since 2006. Just a few days back they blocked my outgoing calls. When I asked them they told me that your documents are not submitted.


Since 10 yrs I am using this walkey, how come documents are not submitted. Still I submitted my documents again then also they say documents are not submitted. I called them 100 of times. I am really upset with the service they are providing. I think I have to cut  my connection off and will never use any tata phone or connection ever.

To begin on a+ve note, walky is wireless and the number pad is big, which makes it easy for elders to use(but, re-dialling is a multi-step process). Problem is that tata docomo is unusable.meaning, there is call drop right after you say hello.incoming and outgoing conversations doesn't progress more than each other saying hellooo.


2nd problem is the handset.Its spiral wire is always entangled which makes you bend awkwardly.Also, its battery doesn't long last and the phone is always switched-off whenever there is no current. Disgusting fact is that the company wants to make more money out of this situation where-in they charge Rs.450 to get a refurbished handset that is not guaranteed to last >3months. To top it, they have appellate officers who are unworthy of being in customer service industry and instead more suitable as goons and thugs.


Lastly, please avoid taking multiple connections under same account. God help if you still end up doing so:-)

On 7th july, in the night I had written this to listen@tatadocomo.com, before writing this I was already aware that it is of no use, but it was necessary to write to them. Kindly read what I had mailed to tata photon officials


Dear sir,


"on 23rd of june I had activated a tata max wifi connection, from sector 9 chandigarh, tata docomo center by no. 9216002068. it was working next day, but when I found its speed less, and contact on customer care, they told me that it had registered on the name of tata photon plus, but they are charging me for tata wifi plan, 3 gb in 650 with max.speed of 6.2mbps, and photon plus plan is of 5gb for 650 rs with max speed of 3.1 mbps.


on 2nd of july I contacted again with sector 9 tata docomo people, in their office, I reached there 10am, the female employee told me that the working timings start from 10.30am, store timings are printed there from 10am, and she told it has been changed. I think you people must be aware of that public sector banks working timings start from 10 am.


after that in evening I again went there( because I do not have any work, so I reached there again-you must be thinking that, but you know I was compelled for going there, to get solution of  my problem).


in evening they told me that by mistake they have registered my no. on the name of tata photon plus.and promised me to change it very next day, and since that day 3rd july my device is in non-functional state. I am out of city and not able to use it.


do you have any explanation for


1.bill of june month bill, as the plan if of photon max device and I was getting services of photon plus.


humiliation I had to face for going again and again, and my device is still in non-functional state, and my loss of work, money and time, as I had to spend my work time in cybler cafes.

This was what I had written in mail, this is 12th of July and still I have not got any reply from them.


Next day 8th July when I visited their office, I felt like I am in government hospital, where you have to approach everyone, no one cares, their senior Mr.Aggrawal sits in casual clothes so that no one can recognize him and ask him for anything, one or two employees working there are literally  drug addicts, always want to run away from work.


Literally those guys are disgusting and so is the management who hires them.My aim to write here is to let people know what is the reality of tata people and their product and moreover their wifi is useless,  in the end of this month I am going to sell this product on olx.

I’m compelled to write this review after repeated disappointments and “shocks” from TATA PHOTON MAX WIFI team. Learning about its innovative feature first time in the market, I placed an order for TATA PHOTON MAX WIFI, A plug-in dongle which is designed to be accessed by 5 persons simultaneously, by making Rs.2, 300/- payment. I was repeatedly explained and assured about the tariff by the sales team, customer care and the service provider about a plan I chose.


It was 1GB of free bundled usage with speed 6.2mbps for a monthly rental of Rs.300+taxes. I even have the call recordings of our conversations where they explained me about my tariff. After just a week’s usage I got a msg that my free usage limit is totally consumed & I have to recharge to renew the free data. I called up the customer care and they told me that I had chosen 512mb plan! When I told them I have the call recordings for the evidence, they promised me to waive off Rs.200 on the bill amount and grant me 1GB free usage as promised at the time of connection from next month.


After 15 days the same drama repeated! Got a msg>Spoke to customer care> This time the service team had chosen 750mb as my plan without any notice(Unilateral bargain!). I get a msg that my payments should be made before the due date but they have neither sent me the bill to my address nor e-mail. I was shocked to hear it from customer care that my bill amount is double the plan amount id chosen(for 20days).


It has just been 1 month I purchased and I have spent nearly 10+ hours with the customer care.  There are lot more complaints which goes on.Now I realize that BSNL is relatively better when it comes to service, speed and reliable network after going through this experience. If you have a problem with the BSNL network it’s advisable to approach a higher authority! I did that and got my problem fixed within minutes.


Pros:  New feature of WIFI.


Cons: 1. Highly unreliable. They change your tariffs without your notice. Make false assurances till you opt in.




  1. The speed they claim is big time false.




3.  The network is most often interrupted! Need to plug out and plug in every few minutes! The network is often slow than other networks I’ve been using.




  1. Customer care executives indifferently hangs the call in between the conversation if they sense that you’re intention of calling them is to complaint!(Happened to me and my friends innumerably)

Very Poor Tata Broadband Service at Visakhapatnam

I've been using Tata Broadband from 8 yrs one at home and other at office. I was happy until couple of months. Recent days I'm facing improper response from the customer support; you get usual canned response and it takes ages to resolve. There is no local office in Visakhapatnam and no one is responsible to answer our queries.


Like a fool we need to cal them and they never respond back, if we cal customer support you need to wait and hear the IVR until we get connected to agent, finally that agent gives some bullish response not qualified people at all.


I pay RS 3000(3 times of other ISP's) per connection and don't get proper support. In a recent issue, the internet was down since 10 days and if we call they say same excuses all the time. Like a fool I'm listening to their nonsense, none of the technician visits us. In another issue it took one month to change the cable and no connectivity for one month but I had to pay.


They don't have SLA's and TAT at all, all you hear is at the earliest, even after the week they say at the earliest it will be resolved, but in fact it wont. Half of the time goes calling them. Couple of times I asked for Local authorized person's number, they say at this moment we don't have any number.

Dont ever think of using Tata Internet Leased line

We have requested for change in Tata Internet Leased line plan service(Downgrading the plan), but have not received any single customer service. They call up frequently for the payment but not a single call to resolve the issue.


Mr. Akash Gupta who is the Team Member in Direct Collection department just keep on forwarding the email to his team with no solution.


We have been following yup from more than 3 weeks now and they are still charging us with the old rates.


I would appreciate if you could please do the needful.

Poor Service Tata docomo broadband in indirapuram

I recently shifted my house in indirapuram( from one building to another building of same society) I got contacted by their highly unprofessional employee praveen singh tomar, due to unprofessional behavior of mr. praveen I faced this issue,  I called mr. praveen to my last apartment( where I was living) for document collection and told him that I am shifting and I am applying broadband for new home which is in the same society( he saw packed goods of mine), without any note he took all the documents and  convinced me that they will provide me better service than Airtel( My current ISP), till then I never received a call from him for any kind of confirmation of address, after 4 days I got a call that sir today we will install your connection at 5:00P.M., at 5:00 P.M.


I called him and he told me you have applied your connection for Last Address and we have approval for that address itself, he has not acknowledged his mistake and started blaming me, Because of his frustrating behavior. I denied him for connection, and he said "mut lo, bilkul mut lo,  koi dikkat nhi " . this attitude of a reputed firm employee shows how they take care after installing the connection . AVOID TATA BARBAD( BROADBAND).

Anything and everything with TATA Photon is horrible.


The speed committed and actual speed is at 100% difference. Customer care is good at taking the complaints and when it comes to solving the problem. back end technical team sucks.


They never have the ado-city to address the complaints inspite of multiple reminders.

It's the only Tata product that has worst customer service. I called help line yesterday to know my bandwidth usage since I was unable to login.


Mr.Nikhil from Tata Indicom now Tata Docomo was extremely rude, unhelpful and unprofessional.


When I explained that password reset is not working he said because it is matching with other customer password is not working. Eureka first system that validates password with other people password..


He also started giving gyaan that I should know basic things. Well I am software architect know million times more than he can ever hope to know. Extremely bad attitude. He did not forward to his supervisor in spite of many requests. It did not help and now I am planning to which to switch to other service provider.


Hathway is much better in Pune. Stay away from such rude people.

I recharged my Tata Docomo CDMA no. (9992606796) with Rs.252 on 7 Sept 2013 for roaming plan. (I wanted to tell you that I switched it from Airtel to Tata Indicom through MNP).


I received roaming benefits but my local call rates had been increased. So one day I received message from Tata Docomo that If you recharge your mobile with Rs. 23 then you will get all local and STD calls in 1.2/2 Sec. I recharged it on 7th October 2013 with Rs. 23 and I was surprised to see my previous recharge (252 Rs) benefits had been withdrawn. What is this?? How can you withdrawal benefits of 252 Rs. recharge?


I called their customer care no. but they didn't help me.


Plz provide me my previous recharge benefits.

I am customer Tata Indicom in Jammu city suddenly in Dec 2012 some body tell mr that tata company wind up business and gone I pay all the due port my all no.


To idea cellular but from tata company person told me that ur security deposit cheque given to u by the enf of march but nothing came from their side I mail to Mumbai but officer reply that ur area far away from me.


Mail another person call from Chandigarh on 05 -07 - 2013 that ur cheque send to u before 17 - 007 - 3013 but nothing from their side till 18-97-2913.

I want to inform the prospective customers of TATA, plz plz dont even think of having a TATA PHOTON ....


I had a connection (Tata photon post paid) which I closed in Jan'13 due to poor connectivity ...I paid the full amount due and closed the terrible connection.....To my surprise I got a legal notice from Tata co. that I have to make payment in June'13 of 1900 rupees (when Tata photon device was lying unused for 6 months). Just imagine what is the level of this company??


They are cheaters and will harass u day and night if u close their connection....What a business they have started to collect money?? I think they must start begging instead of cheating customers of their hard earned money.


Terrible Internet connectivity at Hyderabad Airpor

When I had 3 hours to spare at the Hyderabad Airport, the first thing I checked was a decent wifi zone. Tata Communication has placed their counter prominently and a technician attends to you advising that the free connection lasts for just 45 minutes and if I need serious good quality internet connection I should purchase a internet prepaid card form tata website, which I promptly did . I purchased a 3 hour package at Rs. 300/-. And then all hell broke lose. It would have been better for my mental health had I stayed on reading a newspaper than trying to configure the Tata wifi.


To cut the story short, after an hour of struggle with the paid account, I went back to the free account that was slightly better than the paid account - in the sense that it could load a site after 2-3 attempts . However both connections were plagued with intermittent disconnection, perennial waits to connect, and even basic gmail site was giving connection errors due to improper loading. Forget about you tube or any pictures loading - which was my main aim of paying up for the connection.


So please take my suggestion, unless these VSNL guys have done something drastic, stay away from a tata wifi zone in Hyderabad.

I have been using Tata indicom landline for last 5-6 years. Initially they provided me good services however, they started adding extra amount in my bills for caller tunes which I never requested. I called CS many times but they kept adding same amount. Now for last 2 months they are adding late charges.


They have added Rs 245 extra for late payment. I called them last month to inform that I am not getting bill on time. I am not receiving bill on time then how come I can pay on time. I pay my bills online after receiving the hard copy as subscribed by the company. Please people beware of TATA INDICOM its really a fake service provider.


Even they have worthless and insensible people who do not know about their own product. Very bad service on outlet as well. illiterate people in customer service. Now I will pay 751.45 out of Rs 997. I am not gonna pay Rs 245.45 and going to disconnect this service.

I am using Tata services since 8+ years. It has been a decent experience and never thought of changing the service provider. The customer representatives are always handy when we come across any issues. I recently changed from CDMA to GSM postpaid after 8 years but still Trust TATA, of what they are named. Its after I've tried BSNL, AIR TEL  they might be good in network but as service they are par compared with TATA's.




  1. They offer great PLANS, it is just they do not promote like other subscribers.




  2. They are always there in times of need.




  3. The best plan in TATA DoCoMo is 199 rental. Here we get intra 120 calls Inter 120 calls+ 500MB internet+ 100 SMS. Still the bill would not cross 199+ taxes. Ideal for less usage users.




  4. If you are not interested to use anything just want to use for incoming calls, you have option to switch to No-rental pack. You'll only be charged if you call or roaming.




  5. I have be waived in bills earlier for few issues.as I've stated they are best in customer support.






Cons: It does not work when you are on/in elevator+ If you choose CDMA, mobile piece options are very less and should stick to either what handset the company offers you+ the time to connect customer care and the options are not know in IVR.+ Never go for chat support they always intend to close the chat then resolving our concerns.


I also get alerts when I cross inter circles that is really appealing The internet doesn't need any customer support unlike Airtel, it just connects in.


We've issues everywhere but we look for where the issues are less.


TATA's I'm with you.

Not at all recommended for those who are set at one place. Rather go for broadband. Only plus of Tata Photon Plus is that, it has roaming free.


My 2G mobile internet is faster than this and also it is cheaper. Lack of other options forced me to choose this.
