Worst speed and service

I have tata photon plus it gives speed from 256-400 kbps only when I raised and issue I was told that this the correct speed for photon plus. They say in real world this the correct speed. It should be made mandatory to for companies to provide the average speed and the minimum guaranteed speed of devices when they advertise not the max speed which is never the case in real world.


TATA Photon are the worst I have used.

Tata Photon Plus= Back to good old days of 56Kbps Dial Up


That’s all I have to say. Tata Photon Plus - Up to 3.1 Mbps is performing at Dial Up modem speed in metro city.


This is the worst performance I have ever seen when it comes to Internet connectivity! Sites simply fail to load and eventually result into'This webpage is not available'. TATA Photon is a complete disappointment.

I have raised a complaint in TATADOCOMO phone customer service about the network issue, its been 8 days and no one bother to resolve my issue and one lady called and asked to complaint to government, I dont know what she actually tried to tell.


One of the worst service ever received my photon. Am a user of tatadocomo from 2010, My photon number is 92422xxxxx. Please help me.

Slow speed in ECR road zone!

I have got very bad experience with the network TATA photon wifi.


I went through all kind of customer care process and finally resultant would be in your area there is no tower, hence we are unable to boost signal. So we are closing the tickets.


Note: I am reside in nearby VGP –ECR road in Chennai municipal corporation area.


SPl Note: Don’t buy tata photon wifi when your near by ECR zone. You would not get better result.

I was really excited . I am doing well as a day-trader looking to enjoy life in my home city, venture out and make money on the move all that kind of stuff!


So I thought to myself what do I need, I already have the hardware in-terms of my laptop and necessary trading software, so what more? The only thing that was missing was a good internet connection like the one at home!

Pathetic speed on Photon-92899516**

I have been receiving pathetic speed on my Tata photon no - 92899516**.I even contacted customer care via chat option yesterday, but the resolution provided was much generic.


Received a call from them and they closed the ticket with the status as resolved, even when the issue persisted.


Speed is such pathetic that I can't even access google. And the worst part is that no specific and proper resolution is received from customer care.


There are lots of important emails and other activities that require internet access. Hope Tata Photon should understand that.I just want the proper resolution and issue to be fixed ASAP.

I had been using tata photon dongle for more than a year, but then due to extremely poor connectivity, I was facing a lot of trouble.


Even after making umpteen calls, the Customer Care failed to tackle any problems and their service was horrible. I would say the Customer Care lacked technical knowledge. If I asked many questions repeatedly, they used to simply hang up!


When this situation continued to persist and I was unable to connect to the Internet for three weeks, I decided to disconnect. Even this procedure took another two weeks after multiple follow ups!


Now, after the situation settled, they are sending me the monthly bill for payment.


THIS IS THE HEIGHT!Please step up and mature your services; respect your customers.

I have got very bad experience with the network TATA photon wifi  provides and also with the kind of service offered when contacted to customer care executives.They closed down the ticket twice without any proper resolution


I am registering complaint against photon in consumer court within a week. If you guys need the copy, do let me know.

Tata Photon Max: delivering 5% of promised speed

I have a Tata Photon Max WiFi data card for 3 months now. When their tele-marketing people called me to sell it to me, claimed I would have a "blazing fast" internet experience. Their advertisements and fliers make similar claims. However, I have been getting speeds ranging between 0.5-1.6mbps only, tested using speedtest.net. Hardly blazing fast.


So I complained. Tech support called(a guy called Nikhil Sharma). He told me all is OK with my device and connection and so long as I am getting 512kbps, I should be happy; and if I am getting as much as 1.5mbps, that's very good! He said 10mbps refers to the maximum data card speed but the network delivers variable speed and they wouldn't act if the speed was above 512kbps! 1.5Mbps is more than satisfactory.


I told him I would be happy with 3-4Mbps also but he just scoffed - apparently that is not possible.So beware. Don't be misled by those slick ads. They are just Fraud.

I do not even to start with a Hello as I have found interacting with you guys since the past 1 week to be the most painful experience in my customer service experience. I was a TATA Photon user till today, # 9223942065, however your pathetic customer service experience made me wash my hands off you guys.I was always happy with the services provided for the past 3 odd years & wanted to upgrade to MAX WIFI device.


I had called up your call center where I was addressed by a guy who promised heavens, offered a tempting discount on the monthly rental & assurance of the delivery within 7 days. A SR# 435683539 was promptly provided.


Post this I had called up your call center thrice first I was attended by Aarti who assured me of a call back within 4 hours to address my issue which never came Second gentleman Mandeep promptly escalated my issue to I do not know who & promised the delivery within 24 hours of the device


Third gentleman Hardik blatantly told he could do nothing about the delivery & almost sounded as if TATA would deliver as & when they want & not were not obliged to the customer, he was downright rude that he did not transfer my call to his supervisor add to it he put me on hold for almost 20 mins making me hear one of the worst hold tunes in my life.


Yesterday was the last nail in the coffin when Chirag said he would again escalate an escalated issue to GOD know whom & by evening I get a sms that the resolution is provided


Today in the morning enough of the fact that I could no longer to your customer representative, I chatted with your representative Raghav who without mincing any words claimed I was called by TATA guys 5 times & I did not respond so they have gone about considering the SR # needed to be closed. Fact of the matter is that I wasn’t even called up by your guys. One of the time which Raghav claims that your guys called me i.e. around 3:30 pm yesterday I was in a call with Chirag.


After so much of lies, false claims & absolute no concern about a relationship which was more than 3+ plus years you guys just where happy to end it off.


Again I have no remorse in ending this relation & never would I like to connected with you guys in anyways, Infact I also plan to take this to the highest authority in the TATA group & also in public domain just so that people are aware of who they are dealing with.

My device got damaged in july 2014 and it took me a lot of efforts to find a service centre in delhi. Had to surf finally on just dial to reach one. The 3 calls made to customer care number had given number for all the stores of NCR.(every call needed me to write down address and numbers).


I went after 4 days of damage to the store on a saturday evening, the staff was already thinking of packing up day and leave office. The options offered to me were 1) to buy a new Wi Fi dongle 2) to buy a new photon+ dongle 3) to block my existing account ASAP to hold the bill cycle from continuing. I chose to block it. I was expecting a bill for the month of July. Paid the same in full. Now last month I received another bill for August. The series of phone calls again initiated by me. After almost 5 calls involving a lot of offers of discount coming to me, free home delivery of new device, reduced rentals, I was made to ask for cancellation on this customer care number only.


I was told that only the executives working on the calls are authorised to cancel any connection. The visit to store and blocking the number was not taken in records and there was no information of the process of cancellation told to me at the store. I had taken the customer care number from the bill I receive on my mails and it too didnt mention that there are few powers authorised only to tele services. I am receiving the sms every morning for the bill being due, now warning since today that the due date has been crossed! It has been clearly informed to them that I would not be paying any bill for the month where I had duly blocked the connection and not used .00 Mb data.

Don't buy any photon product.getting very slow speed.after repeated complain they don't solve the problem rather close the complain with out solve problem. and customer service is horrible.this my corporate connection.i am unable to work form home. but still they don't bother to problem.i am getting speed 30/40 kbps even they promise to give 3.2 mps which is a lie

]This is a genuine review of Tata Photon+. I have been using Tata Photon+  for quite some time but have been facing connectivity issues.  It will disconnect in every 10 mins or so.


Called a customer care support but they are all crap. They show blank faces and have no solution for any problem. I am fed up of using it. I am planning to buy a new connection of some other service provider.


So, don't waste ur money for this crap thing.

It would be better to get something like a dialup connection than to use Tata Photon Plus.  The customer service is a disaster.  They are very good at making excuses and wasting your time.  T


They manipulate the data usage on a regular basis and their technical prowess is equivalent to that of a high school kid.  There is no professionalism and once you have a problem, you have to wait forever to get it resolved.  I can borrow the expression from automobile industry in order to justify my experience - "If you buy Tata Photon, you bought yourself a lemon".

Simply I bought a tata photon max wifi. Because I am getting 256kbps speed even thought I am in full coverage. Instead you can use airtel or vodafone 2g services.I have selected a 20 GB plan but you cannot download single GB in a day.


But during demo they showed me in my area it is getting 1mbps download speed I dont know whether they cheated me.Now I wasted Rs 2000 because I am not able to use this device for other service providers.

Tata Photon Billing Department acting like goons

I have 2 connections of Tata Photon. 1 Tata Photon Plus and 2 tata Photo Max wifi.I have paid the bills for both connections yet they refuse to accept the billing for Max wifi saying that it was clubbed to a different account which is now deactivated.


Their cancellation department said that I have outstanding and I am a defaulter with the billing department continuously harassing me for making the outstanding payment which I have already made.


The customer executives are so rude in their behavior that they waste up too much of your time, they even levy charges for not visiting a technical complaint and later after much arguments discount it.


The service connection is anyways very bad, slow speeds and yet there is no politeness.


I would better say to switch a provider whose products are good, customer service is good, after so much hassles they have finally canceled, I lost my amount on the dongles but I am relieved.

I am still wondering why did I purchase this piece of junk. The speed sucks. My photon device was not working 4 days before the expiry date and I still had 3996 MB of data. I have called this customer care 3 to 4 times and ended up with no resolution in-spite of talking to a supervisor who does not know the difference between problem with device and network.


The supervisor promised a technician call within 4 hours who ended up calling after 19 hours. I went to the  tata showroom in kamakya who were not ready to help. They were asking for RS 750 for a replacement of junk photon which is not even 6 months old. End of the story- I did not get resolution and I am not going to use this junk again.The service and also the tata photon team sucks.  FOR YOUR INFORMATION MY PHOTON NUMBER IS 9242458156.

Earlier speed used to be good at this place. Now it is constantly photon whiz instead of photon plus.


Speed at Kolkata and other parts of Jharkhand used to be good.My remiders to photon customer care has not been replied.

From taking buying the device to deactivation. I have completed full circle for Tata Docomo Photon.


The service of Tata DoCoMo is worse than the local cable operator-sick!.


Their policy cheats you, the customer care is highly illiterate and outdated(they would have a common reply "our system is upgrading pls call after 2 hrs" I wonder if this company really belongs to the great TATA's.


Tata DoCoMo is pathetic.
