Tata Indicom Photon+

Tata indicom  photon+ claims to be one of the fastest internet providers for public but actually its not. its dongle is just too slow and you have to keep waiting for getting goods network range which you get occasionally and most of the time you have top suffer from low speed of internet which just make your online experience worse and you can not enjoy the freedom of internet.  its dongle is also a problem which creates problem at the time of connectivity. there plans are also very expensive, in there basic plan you can experience a lot better internet service from other internet service providers like aircel, airtel etc. I have suffered from there low grade service and I don't want any one else to suffer from same and    don't waste your money on it. with my personal experience I don't recommend it to any one.

Tataindicom photon 2G I used for 1 year and 6 months .It was very so so service .Speed was medium .It was a post paid service .On roaming the speed was excessively slow.Network was very bad and connection got disconnected .More than that the service was poor.I tell you why .I used to use limited pack like 1 GB or 2 GB and to alert me Tata used to send me an SMS alerting me what is the bytes left .Almost everyday around 11 am the SMS reached on the registered no.But from time to time SMS didn't reach .one time for 20-24 days SMS didn't come .For the first few days it didn't come and I thought it would start coming again within a day or two.It had happed earlier .But SMS didn't arrive .I called at customer care and the representative assured it would come as some technical snag was going on.After one week being impatient I called and told  them the data used by me would exceed and I would not pay then because for the last twenty days SMS was not coming .Eventually SMS didn't come and data used by me exceeded the limit .I surrendered my connection .Poor service, bad network, disconnection repeatedly and very slow connection .many sites didn't open on my computer .Don't even think of buying tataphoton

Shocked. Had speed issues with Tata photon which was never solved for which I disputed the bill raised by the Co. as I wsnt getting the speed promised. Got a call from an unknown no. Said that it is from'Delhi Legal Department' on behalf of Tata Photon. Abused me, took the name of Delhi Courts and Delhi Government in order to coerce. Tata photon call centre said everything but did not clearly disown authorising any such agencies. Two things:- 1. Why should I pay if do not give me the speed you promised me saying that my area is a high density area(didn't you know that when I subscribed?)

1. Coercing for payment taking the name of a government department and court - Does not it amount to Fraud?

According to the agreement between the Tata Group and NTT Docomo, had the right to sell its stake if Tata Docomo missed perfomarance targets, with Tata getting right of first refusal.[2] On 25 April 2014, NTT Docomo had announced that they would sell all of their shares in Tata DoCoMo and exit the Indian telecom industry as they had incurred a total loss of$1.3 billion.

Under the joint venture agreement between the two groups, NTT Docomo would either increase its stake from 26.5% to 51%, or sell all of its shares, depending on the performance of Tata Docomo in the Indian market.[8] Since Tata was unable to find a buyer for the shares, they sought the approval of the RBI, in November 2014, to buy back the shares from NTT Docomo for$1.1 billion(at ?58.045 per share), half the price paid by them in 2009.

The RBI had approved the deal in January 2015, but however, went back on their decision and rejected the deal in March 2015, citing FEMA regulations.[9]

Following the RBI decision, the Tata Group offered to purchase Docomo's stake at ?23.34 a share on the basis of a fair market value determined on 30 June 2014 by PwC.[2] NTT Docomo then moved the London Court of International Arbitration seeking a valuation of ?58 a share

I work in Tata telecom sector in marketing department and the company provides us with Tata products like Tata Docomo sim cards, Tata Photon dongle for Internet etc. I also have a MTS wifi dongle at my house, which I used earlier but now I work with my Tata Photon+ dongle only. However, I regularly face some or the other issues with the dongle now. It takes a lot of time to connect.

I have to remove it and install it again to connect it. The other major issue I face is the bandwidth and speed. The speed in the plan is up to 2 MBPS but I do not get the said speed. Infact the MTS dongle gives me more speed than it does. Being an employee, I face such problems then I could understand what customers might face. I have stopped using it for the time being at my house and use my old dongle. Tata should recover the network and connectivity issues or else it would have to close it down one day.

Good speed but disconnections several times: I was looking for a dongle as I travel a lot and wish to do my work on the go! I went for tata indicom photon+ as its charges were affordable and the speed was good. It opens heavy pages with great ease and smoothness, but at times the speed drops down drastically. I uploaded several photos on fb and it hardly took any time.

However I have noticed that the network coverage is not very great. When I was out of station, the connectivity was extremely poor. The call centre puts you on hold for more than 20 minutes. All in all, I would say that tata photon+ is fine for only those who want affordable internet on the go. Otherwise there are other better speeds offered by its counterparts.

This is no so good broadband for those who do not live in the cities. The connection works well only in cities. I am living few kilometres away from the main town and the network of Tata Photon is really frustrating at my area. I have used it only for a month and then I switched to other provider.

Moreover, the plans and charges are also high. For a month’s usage, I paid almost Rs. 3500 which is very much expensive. If you want good internet connection then this is not the right network to choose. They are not at all good when it comes to network. I would suggest maintaining a distance with Tata Indicom Photon+.

Well,  I have used photon plus for a long time, the network coverage was good. Carried it with my laptop whenever I went to different cities. The usual net speed was 700 Kbps, at max it reached 1.1 Mbps. All the tests were performed from the site speedtest.net.

They claimed a speed up to 3.1 Mbps, that's what the dongle is capable of, not their network.

It's better to go for any open dongle and use Vodafone /Airtel 3G or even Aircel 3G, if someone needs mobile internet connection for a laptop.

Airtel 4G is much superior,  but has limited coverage,  it is still not present in many cities.

Dec 21 2015 - Went to the local store in Bandra around 5 pm to learn about their Photon+ Max service.

Representative shared brochure and I selected the monthly unlimited 10GB plan, speed upto 9.7 Mbps as I told the representative that I needed to download a lot of data.  2 hours later, the service got activated.

That night and the next day, I logged in and got download speed between 1 Mbps - 1.5 Mbps, way below their advertised claim.

Once I crossed the 5 GB data mark, it slowed down considerably to less than 0.1 Mbps and accessing g-mail too was painful.

Raised a complaint with their Support person on Dec 22 only to learn that their network in Bandra can only support 1Mbps speeds.  However after 1 phone, 1 in person support and their so called network team who looked into the issue, their response was that they cannot provide more than 1 Mbps.  However I was getting < 0.1 Mbps to which they had no response even though I had only reached 5.5 GB data downloads and my plan was for 10 GB.

Added booster pack too which took a day to activate but no improvement in download speeds.

Recommend: Do NOT go for their service.

I was using Reliance 3g since last 3 year, but after getting convinced from the TATA photon sales department, I took a single dongle for my personal use, and after using one month, I found that it is much better than Reliance 3G, as comparison to the price effect as well as the speed for both down load and upload.

After that I have taken 5 more new connection for my office as well as Tata photon wifi connection, and can be used in 5 system at a time with no decrease in speed.

This is a better plan for official purpose where multiple system run and need to be connected with Internet.

My uncle was using tata Indicom photon+ since last 3 years because he is in a private company .So many times they use Tata photon for their personal use at home one day I want at my uncle home than I told him can I open my gmail account .

Then I open it I think 10 min had passed but my gmail account not opened .Tata Indicom is very slow in comparison to now are days devices.

Service of the tata are best but internet is slow .

I bought the Photon plus dongle in Sep, 2012.

I've used it for more than 3 years.

Got it disconnected last month.

Download/upload speeds were good to begin with but the speeds kept on degrading with time. Sometimes, when you talk with their support persons, they temporarily increase the speeds for few hours.

Convenience

You can carry the dongle with you. I didn't notice any change in signal strength/connection problems whether I used the dongle at my shop or at my home.

You can choose the plan as per your needs and make payment online.

This is the worst broadband I ever had. The network coverage is so bad is my area. This broadband is so bad because it gets good network only in cities. I'm about 2km away from the city but the network is very poor. I have been using it for a longer time but from last month I switched into another internet service peoviders. If you want to get a good connection and good signal or network coverage then this is not the network you need.

They are good at providing great offers but what if you don't have  a good comncection or network strength. Without getting good connection. They are good providing customer services and other facilities. The only one problem of this internet service is network problem.

When ever we have some client meetings during my vacation I gonna spend my time for the calls and I need some great speed.

As I stay in my home town and so I prefer to take my dongle and every time it will gives a bad call and even it may not connect to internet and their service is too bad. I gonna say that if you were planning for this dongle to buy, just for the sake of surfing you can go far but not for the imoportant office related work and you will defenitely get lost out of control and I fed with them and now ia m trying to disconnct the plan and choosing for another.it was really a bad experience for me and I felt disappoint for not having client meeting to  organise and returend to bangalore just for the sake of calls.bad in service and signal

Downloading speed is too low. It's doesn't work at the time of need. One month back I recharged my Photon plus account, but when I tried to use it then there was no signal. And when I contact with them they told me to visit service centre.

The network strength in my area is also weak although plan. On asking about the refund they told me that, it is not possible. The company policies speed is not so good as said by the company. So I thought that it is very important to inform others.Please first check the network speed in your area before purchasing.

I have bought this tata photon+ dongle during my college days. Since, they were offering good offers, so, I thought to try my luck with them. For the first two months, the speed was quite good and everything went smoothly. But, when the third month approached, the speed became so slow and their recharge amount was rising day by day. Once, I recharged for some amount but the amount was not added to my dongle. I made a call to their customer care for the issue but they were arguing with me and caused nuisance.  Finally, I sent an email to them showing my banking record where it was mentioned about the deduction. Later, they wrote me an apology mail and added my balance.

But, the photon+ speed in Northeastern zone of India was awesome, only there was issue with the network coverage. Later, government of India called off the tata photon+ from northeastern zone. I hardly used it for 5-6 months as there was network coverage issues.

The customer care used to call me every month for adding balance to the dongle which was so annoying. They used to argue with me whenever I used to explain their network coverage issues along with the range of speed of the network.

Overall, I found this network as well as the customer care people of Chennai very annoying and disgraceful. I don't recommend this worst internet network to anyone in metro cities because the speed is too slow.

Tata Photon No. 9225331437 Mob. 9922710759  Register Email Id abhi81kul@gmail.com I had register my request at 25 Sep 2015 to tata docomo to disconnect connection permanently.Then at 1 Oct I received email regarding my cancellation request is in process.

Then around 15-17 Oct I received SMS 770 Rs, so I called customer care regarding this bill so he said Your connection has been restart at 8 Oct. I was shocked I did not register any request to restart my connection. even I didn't received any email regarding connection has been restart.

Then again at 24 Oct this problem has been solved by Mehul & Aakash from priority department he said it was our mistake and again he took my cancellation request & said u will receive cancellation request email within 24-48 hours & said now you aishwaryasingh23 this 770 Rs LAST BILL then u don't need to aishwaryasingh23 anything this would be your last bill. .  But Now today is 12 NOV and yet I have not received E mail from Tata Docomo that My Connection Has been permanently Cancel.

Again yesterday again I got email of 359 RS bill. Just had word with Yogesh from priority department he said Madam your connection has been permanently disconnected but we cant sent that kind of mail.This is your last bill after this u will not receive any bill. Really very disgusting service from Tata. These people only take money from you. Poor service

Tata Docomo But still hope u will solve my problem!    Don't know how many times I have to aishwaryasingh23 for this connection.Really bad service guys bcz of your mistake I have to aishwaryasingh23 this bill in Tata a/c.

Since 1 year I am using Tata Photon Plus data card. Tata Photon Plus Data Card is a very good device .  it is very good speedy connection of internet surfing. I like this product. Installation is very smoothly. It is very nice working. Speed awesome which gives me 3.1 Mbps and upload

1.8 Mbps. I usually work everyday. Another speciality of this data card its roaming free. I can go outstation I can connect & access easily.
