WD My Cloud Mirror 8 TB Wired External Hard Disk Drive

There are no front-mounted USB ports, like on the Netgear ReadyNAS 202 and the QNAP TS-25 which makes the My Cloud Mirror Gen 2 less convenient when you want to back up a USB flash drive's contents. On the back panel, there's a Gigabit Ethernet port, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, and a Kensington lock port. A hole for the reset button and a jack for the AC adapter are the only other ports on the device.

RAID 1, also known as mirroring, is preset on the My Cloud Mirror Gen 2 by default. That means that any data you upload to the NAS is copied and stored on both internal drives. That gives you insurance against a single-drive failure: If one drive goes bad, you can still access your data and use the remaining drive while you get a replacement. Since the data is written twice, the NAS's 4TB overall storage space is halved to 2TB of protected storage. If you want all 4TB accessible, you can reformat the drive for RAID 0 or JBOD. That process will, of course, negate the RAID 1 safety net.

Hi I have bought this product form ebay at rs 38999 and I want to tell you some pros and cons of this hard disk of Western Digital.

Some of the good features of this hard disk are:

It automatically creates double copy of all content onto second drive.

Automatic backup for all you photos and videos of computer and mobile device.

Now the reasons why I don't want to recommend this product to others:

The main reason is "transfer speed is very low". Whenever I tried to copy large data the speed of transferring data is very low.

Second thing is that it weighs heavy around 2.5 kg and the hard disk is big so its tough to carry it from one place to another.

My overall experience is not that good as its expensive and performance is slow. So its not at all a value for money product.

I would like to write a review about this product. I have bought this product through one online shopping website which is very popular. I paid around 35 k for this 8 TB hard drive.

It's performance is not good as I expected. Because while transferring data it should take more time to load. And after copying also the datas won't be visible. It is wired and there is no new features. Back up facility is there but can't trust this product.

It's design is not good. It is very big and difficult to carry in bags. For office uses it should be apt. Service and support is there but very limited services and won't answer to our calls. Many times I got complaints but they were not agreed to repair it with their expense. The staff are not good in assistance the customers.

Value of money is not worth. It is very expensive but with this cash there is no specialities with this hard disk. Overall I am not satisfied and won recommend for others.

I purchase this hard drive last month now I tell you about this product this hard disc drive is too costly on the base of capacity because if we will purchase a TB hard drive then it is available much cheaper also it has speed problem its depend on USB data transfer speed the only the only two thing which is good one is looking voice is pretty good and second is the service of WD but overall it's not worth it

8TB is give more space for us. It handle easily, product ratings 4.0 for 5.0, fully integrated hard disk, speedly transfer and upload data, connect with computer and laptop device, In this lighting setting using for mention free memory, clould system it storage advantage of hard disk, comfortable design

This is the superb speed for coping file and read speed are very nice data read speed are 120mb and data write speed are 60mb so this is cool and more usefull storage drive for people but one minuse point is this drive very large not like other superb cool external hard disk.

This hard disk like god father of other slim harddisk.
