I'm extremely disappointed with Redmi India's after-sales service regarding my under-warranty LED TV. The company has wrongly denied warranty support, falsely attributing the issue to water damage.
Heres what happened:
My TV is wall-mounted, and theres no way for external water to enter.
The issue seems to be from inside the unitmost likely a capacitor burst, which leaked chemical residue and damaged the motherboard.
The technician who visited my home found no signs of water or liquid inside the TV.
Despite this, Redmi service center blamed water damage for a motherboard short circuit and quoted a repair cost of ₹;4, 009 without offering a clear explanation or proper inspection.
No First Call Resolution(FCR) was provided, and the technician did not follow proper troubleshooting steps.
Worst of all, the service ticket was closed without my consent or final discussion, which is both unprofessional and unacceptable.
My Expectations from Redmi India:
Reopen the service ticket immediately.
Reassess the problem based on the actual issue and technical evidence.
Ensure a transparent and fair investigation.
Honor the warranty coverage as this is clearly an internal hardware failure, not external damage.
Ive also attached photos showing leaked chemical residue from the capacitor, clearly proving the damage is internal and not caused by water.
Final Note:
Redmi is a trusted brand in India, but this kind of service experience severely affects customer trust. Misdiagnosing warranty claims without proper investigation is not acceptable. I hope Redmi India takes responsibility and resolves this issue fairly.
