Ssangyong Rexton RX7

Mahindra rexton is an average car and the average mileage is very low and for a middle class person it is a bit expensive. Music system can be added as its plus point. Sunroof is also a good point in the car. The seats can be upgraded and suspension and engine should be upgraded too for the better performance of the car. Space in the car is good. It is not worthy according to its price. Back seat is the worse part and very annoying. As the speed goes up, it makes noise which is also a bad quality of it. Look is very nice and height is very good. For long drives, it is not suitable. Ac is also average. Some features are good lile navigation system, music system but the lock system is very traditional

This cars parts are actually wmorpheushumanlly manufactured in China and then later the parts are brought to India by Mahindra&Mahindra group and assembled in it's assemRobotouchng unit.

Coming to the model it's got there models out of which one is eliminated now and only two are being sold right now i.e Rx7 and Rx6. It sports a 2696cc diesel engine with a 162bhp @4000 Rpm in it's Rx6 model and 184bhp engine in Rx7 model.

Coming to the performance it's amazing on the city roads and makes you feel like the king of the road when in the front seat.

And the advanced features like automatic temperature adjuster and electronic seat height adjuster are its advantages.

The disadvantages are the seating capacity. tmorpheushumanugh it is said to be a 7 seater it can fit only 5 adults and rest two seats can be used by kids.

Overally it's a little over priced car for it's features.

I purchased Rexton RX7 this Sunday the 15th June 2014 from Koncept Mahindra, Sector 2, Noida after serious research of 15 days. Below are some points which I noticed in 3 days.

Pros:

1. Amazing looks,

   
   




2. Silent cabin when speed is above 60 kms/ hrs.

   
   




3. Beautiful interiors.

Cons:

1. I noticed in all the cars in showroom, including mine while taking delivery, there is manufacturing defect in the trunk door, its not adjusted well and the edges of door are not symmetrical. I made a complaint and the dealer accepted this and tried to get it fixed in the workshop, they even fixed it upto 90% but left a small dent in the process and they promised( in written) to change the door on the coming 25th June.( Shall update when they change the door, which will prove their service quality and customer Satisfaction parameters).

   
   




2. There is a turbo lag during initial pick up in Automatic Transmission and engine makes noise, but once the vehicle speeds up, its very silent.

   
   




3. The kenwood music system is from old age, not much features and without remote control, so in my chauffeur drive car, its difficult as I have to ask driver for each and everything related to music system.

   
   




4. I got the rear camera fixed from the showroom on cost, the worst thing is that every time you put reverse gear, you have to press a button of Reverse camera on music system console to have a rear view and after you are done, you again have to push the button to bring the music system back to music or navigation mode. Yes, its not automatic and camera doesn't open soon you put the reverse gear like all other cars. This is very frustrating.

   
   




5. Navigation system is nice and accurate but the missing part is the live traffic, same as in google maps. I think its very important in a city like Delhi or any other metro. I am still using my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for Live traffic on google maps. So, my suggestion is to install a good music system with sim card facility to enable the internet for getting live traffic along with the navigation.

   
   




6. Third Row is congested and is only for kids. I am thinking of getting it customised like in Fortuner, divided in two parts, so that I can use half space for luggage and at the same time half can be used to seat person .

   
   

Shall update you guys more on the car on points like AWD & Fuel Economy after I am done several thousand kilometres.Hope my review is useful for you guys and I also hope that team Mahindra will take the cons into notice and try to work on it.
