Kerala Builder disconnects electricity of the Buyer immediately after the new Electricity Meters are connected by KSEB:
Palakkad: Kerala Builder, Of palakkad, Hanco Property Developers Ltd a fairly new builder in Palakkad, after project completion delayed by over 3 years, disconnects electricity due to personal vengeance.
An NRE, who is working abroad was surprisingly shocked by builders notice of Rs 58500/- as maintenance and electricity charges . Though the delayed work was in progress and completed with new electricity meters being fixed on 16th May 2019. He shoots a email to resident demanding Rs 58500/- on Maty 17th2019 . The NRE resident calculated the illegal demand and acceded to pay 2 years electricity charges of Rs 15750/- .Immediately after receipt of payment on May 25th 2019, builder cuts off electricity .The Builder did not handover the apartments to residents welfare association nor he gave a breakups of the charges. It was learned from other residents of apartment that no one made any payments towards the maintenance since completion certificate and occupancy certificate was received from competent authorities.
The NRE slapped a case in consumer court in Palakkad with reference to deficiency in services and unfair trade practices . As a immediate relief to his family who was residing with battery charged lamps and candles, interlocutory Application was submitted in Consumer Court along with other defects and deficiency of service . The consumer court orders Hanco Property developers pvt ltd represented by Mr. Anathanarayanan Hariharan and Land owner, Mr. K. K Subhash to immediately restore electricity.The court also warned against such arm-twisting actions by both of them not to repeat in future .
