As part of our partnership with dekhona.com, MouthShut had organized a special contest for all its members - Hit or Flop Contest a.k.a Kaun Banega Hit Contest. Here, we had asked people which movie would be a bigger hit - Om Shanti Om, Saawariya, No Smoking or Bhool Bhulaiyaa. We received some very interesting comments over the email and choosing the winners was an arduous task.

Comment:No Smoking, is a film which I think can be best forgotten and it's absolutely "No Joking". Om Shanti Om is a somewhat good film but I can only say that yes indeed little bit "Shanti" is required and that can be achieved by muttering "Om" silently. Saawariya is a O.K. film but may have mixed reactions  and my reactions too are mixed. Salman has been a lucky mascot for Bhansali and so my formula for the film is Sawaariya = Bhansali + Two Kapoors + a Khan = success.

World Cup 2007 is here. And the first match was between Pakistan and West Indies. I saw some of it (oh yes, I am a cricket maniac) but once the WI innings came to an end I crashed into dreamland. News channels informed me that WI won that match. 241 was not a big score to chase but I believe Pakistan made a hash of it. Honestly, if you ask me, Pakistan - with the kind of display they came up with yesterday - do not have much of a chance of qualifying into the knock out stage. But you never know in cricket, especially in the World Cup.

 

Remember the 2003 edition when India started of disastrously against minnows Holland and then performed even badly against the eventual champs Australia? But they did romp their way to the finals. This year too may have many such surprises. Except for 2003, where one did expect Australia to win the world cup, the winners have usually been the underdogs. 1983 - India, 1987 - Australia, 1992 - Pakistan, 1996 – Sri Lanka, 1999 - Australia. This year, who knows it could be England, New Zealand, or our Men in Blue (Amen).

 

Start blogging guys, let those reviews start flowing in. It's the hour of the World Cup - the biggest platform of the cricketing world. Review the matches and be a part of the world cup fever. My temperature is soaring dangerously these days.
