Poor Performance
Jun 30, 2017 05:12 AM 12055 Views

Hi Friends

Mahinidra Flyte is a worst Scooty I ever seen, we bought this mahindra flyte and after using 3 year's I totally say it's a worst scooty I ever use, the performance of scooty is so poor.

Technical Description: it has 124 cc engine, with single cylinder engine, max power 8 bhp@ 7000 rpm, maximum torque is 9 Nm@5500 rpm, cylinder bore is 52 mm, cylinder stroke is 57 mm, use fuel type petrol, spark ignition, single spark plug, aired cooled engine automatic gearbox. transmission type chain drive.

The mileage of this scooter is very poor, it gives about 30 km/lit. mileage which is really not cool because mileage matters in indian and it's vary poor in this category, I using this scooter from 3 year's and it creates only problems, maintenance is require every 2 to 3 months which is costly for pocket, and create problem on running like accele_45rator is stuck some times, very poor condition of this scooter, engine performance also very poor when you use it for long trip it's engine creates noise. and service center is also closed in my city don't know why the shut it down, so facing getting parts of this scooter. and also company stop production of this scooter due to it's heavy complains.

For those thinking of buying a 2 wheeler-avoid this scooter. Have been a scooter user for more than 40 years(since Lamby & Chetak days). Maintaince of this scooter is more & also expensive-and also not easily possible(very few & scattered outlets) . The fuel system is also defective. The Mahindra co. is also not helpful. Can buy a better scooter. ALSO, the parts are not easily available and the service agents charge heavily saying that the have difficulty in procuring them hence expensive.

Sort of scooty like this was never truly my first choice to purchase yet without having the learning my dad skilled this scooty to my mom as her birthday present for the normal drive to work and she was content with it for 5 months and the scooty worked great. What's more, to be straightforward the issue were still there regardless of the possibility that it was new You can consider the ground leeway is not up to the stamp and you may feel protuberances and knocks and even infrequently the base may rub through speed breakers and it truly disturbed my mom, however she was glad to get a mileage of 40 which was still awful as guaranteed 50kmpl by the organization In any case, one day in transit back home the scooty all of a sudden ceased with no clear reason as the petrol tank was full however the fuel gage indicated exhaust and upon my landing

Guys if you are about to buy any scooty or you are thinking to buy please do not purchase this mahindra flyte.Mahindra is a well known company so I trusted mahindra but the performance of this product of mahindra did not match the standard quality of mahindra company.

Its milege is worst I had to spend so much money on perrol for using this just for months.as comparision to other scooty it does not provide good milege.

Sometime I got irritared that it would be better to go by walk or by rikshaw rather than spending so much money on petrol.

It's fuel average is about 30kmpl which is not that good considering the daily basis of the an average man in india. The comfort is not good it's seat is not that comfortable, While riding you feel your whole body weight on the handle bars which can be painful. NO it's not reliable because the battery of the bike is very poor, when it comes to handling it can't get better in this budget the handling is really good and brakes also I'm satisfied with that, Looks are average considering the price

This gearless scooter is fitted with 124.6 cc four stroke engine that can reach maximum speed of around 80 KMPH. This engine also powers Mahindra’s Rodeo RZ and Duro DZ. It can reach 0 to 60 KMPH in 12 seconds. Continuous variable transmission makes it easy to drive. It offers mileage of 56 KMPL.

The scooter offers both, electric start as well as kick start. bike could be brought for its smooth engine, competitive price and great fit and finish. Overall a great buy in the segment and could be termed in the broad sense as the best.

Flyte is one of Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd’s stylish scooters that attract teenage girls.

Using since 3 month, this is one you should buy if you want a maintenance free scooter. Also with mileage around 40-45 kmpl if you use it economically. Pickup is good due to 100cc engine and very good customer service. Service center also good and better.

metal body of this scooter does not break easily as that of fibre bodies. It is known for its durability which it is fully upto mark. Very reliable and very good scooty of mahindra flyte sym.

Fuel leakage
Feb 08, 2016 01:43 PM 17532 Views (via Android App)

Kind of scooty like this was never really my first option to buy but without having the knowledge my father gifted this scooty to my mother as her birthday gift for the regular commute to work and she was happy with it for 5 months and the scooty worked good. And to be honest the problem were still there even if it was new

You can consider the ground clearance is not up to the mark and you might feel humps and bumps and even sometimes the bottom may scrape through speed breakers and it really bothered my mother, but she was happy to get a mileage of 40 which was still bad as claimed 50kmpl by the company

But one day on the way back home the scooty suddenly stopped with no apparent reason as the petrol tank was full but the fuel gauge showed empty and upon my arrival I saw the feul tank was leaking and then we had to do a tempo to get it to service Centre which was 45 km away and eve  they didn't know how to solve the issue after 35 days they repaired the issue but  again the leakage was there and will again had to go and repair it.

The problem with this scooty is so much that you can hardly enjoy the ride and repair it more often and the rest  why it doesn't come under the category of durable scooty and not my recommendation.

Quality Sucks!
May 20, 2014 05:59 PM 53125 Views

I had bought one for my father a couple of years back. It ran smoothly for two years, but recently it started causing lot of trouble. Its fuel tank developed leakages, and several parts started falling apart.

Looks like their product quality is very poor. Now a visit to the mechanic has become a monthly affair. Overall experience after 2.5 years is disappointing.

No to Mahindra Scooter
Jul 08, 2013 05:06 PM 21515 Views

I own Mahindra Flyte from 2009 May. Till June 2013 there was not much problem. It gave good performance and mileage. But from June 2013 it started giving problem by not starting and if started in between. Whenever it stopped in between I need to push it local mechanic shops and with small tweaking it will start and ageing after 2 or 3 days. Like this seven Mechanics are handled and even I took the scooter to Authorized service station. Even they are unable to find the exact problem and still I am pushing the vehicle. As per many local Mechanics 'Activa' is the only scooter which is good and no other models are not all vehicles. And since we are at mercy at there hands whenever our vehicle stops we will get paid advice from them for buying this vehicle and no solution for our problem. So my advice is please buy the vehicle which is liked by the mechanics and not by its performance or any other matter, and later your life will be easier.

I  think Mahindra needs to promote their product not among buyers but  instead of local mechanics.

Mahindra's Thane Service centre closed
Aug 21, 2012 10:37 PM 23562 Views

We bought mahindra flight in Thane. However recently the service centre in Thane has been abruptly closed down by Mahindra and they are asking everyone to take their vehicles to another centre in Bhandup which is about 15 KM away.

If the service centre is closed then mahindra should make arrangements to take vehicles from thane to Bhandup and drop back to Thane AT THEIR OWN COST and not make customers suffer for the same. There is no regard for customer inconvenience which is ridiculous. please think 10 times before buying a mahindra vehicle.

I purchased this veh 2 1/2 years ago. I used it in Belgaum . Within a month I had to change the fuel tank as it suddenly developed a leak. The ground clearance was the least among scooters (Honda Activa etc) and it was a problem negotiating Road humps.

Mileage was decent at 36 kms per litre, I rarely exceed 45 kms speed. Company claimed average was 50 kms which is not true.

Review of Flyte after 20K
Dec 28, 2011 01:15 PM 24438 Views

I took delivery of my Kinetic flyte from Chennai on one fine sunday morning of June 2008.

Till now I have clocked 20.5K and I am using it for the past two years in Bangalore. I drive around 20Kms average a day. I never drove for long drives, may be it is max 100Kms in a day. I have owned Splendor and Rx 135 during my bachelor life before shifting to flight.

Comfort:

As a family man, I really like my flyte for the comfort it offers when I drive with both my kids (and sometimes with wife too). It has enormous torque and I never felt it is straining itself even while driving upstream. Its suspensions are very good that I never lost control while hitting pot holes tho the base of vehicle scratches on the speed breakers many times.

The enormous storage space under the seat, and the space between the seat of front hood is very good to hold lots of shopping items too. The vehicle is very stable and under full control when I drive with my family as I nvr exceed 40kmph, and I go upto 55 when I am alone. The larger wheel radius and the tyre width gives more stability, and I never found as if losing balance. But when I exceed 55, I feel the vibrations, and instability. After all, I can't expect more from a scooter.

The front fuelling makes me feel like it is a bike when I go to petrol bunk. This is a great plus.

Mileage:

This is the pathetic part. She never gave me more than 35. Sometimes it even went as low as 25. I got totally disheartened and stopped measuring it. But when I hv the tyre pressure correct, and service it regularly then she offers 35. Though I have mentioned it to servicing people, they never could fix it.

Instruments:

I wish the petrol level indicator work perfectly. It's value changes depending on the speed of the vehicle ;( But I fuel it once the needle touches the Red mark. Definitely the needle's movement is not proportionate to the petrol level.

Reliability:

In my 3.5 years of association with the vehicle, she never let me down except for once. It was due to carbonated spark plug which was fixed by a local mechanic.

Sometimes I see that however high I set the speed of idling, it will stop. I hv to hold the accelator to keep the engine live in heavy traffic. But when it happens, then I understand that it is time for service. I service it regularly once in 4 months.

The battery is a very big plus. It never let me down till now (even in early mornings @ BLR in less than 25C she never refused to start).

My flyte was leaking petrol when I fill the petrol tank till it's brim. Latter on the dealer himself replaced the tank saying that it is manufacturing defect. I see that the service folks (both chennai and BLR - unicorn motors) are very approachable and atleast listen to my grievances unlike yamaha people. I always used to approach roadside mechanic for my Rx135, but thankfully I need not do it for my flyte.

Looks:

Very subjective, but I and my kids like a lot my apple green flyte. She looks pretty good compared to active which looks very fatty (may be due to it's big buts ;)

I am thinking of returning back to my biking days, but I am sure I won't get all the comforts that my flight offers. I can never drive with my kids in bike with the so much of comfort like the flyte. Even if I buy a bike, I can never think of ditching my flight. It has become part of my family, and I wish she continues like this for long long time.

Thanks

Ganesh.

NEVER EVER BUY FLYTE ,RODEO , DURO.
Jul 19, 2011 11:45 AM 23601 Views

I bought Flyte 125 cc in Feb 2008.

Right from the beginning, I had mileage problem.I only got 30 - 32 km per liter.

But the dealer promised 45 kmpl.

After 10, 000 kms, Fuel tank got damaged and get it replaced.

The engine life is only 27000 kms. After 27000 kms, I replaced my engine assembly.

Since the same engine is used in all mahindra scooters, you will face the same problem.

My suggestion for all of you "NEVER EVER BUY MAHINDRA SCOOTERS".

I dont want you people to undergo the hardships I faced.

Go for Honda activa or suzuki access or Hero honda pleasure. you can trust them.

Best Regards,

Raja
