My Baby is now a grown-up

By: faisal Verified Member MouthShut Verified Member | Posted Nov 13, 2008 | General | 1596 Views | (Updated Nov 13, 2008 11:08 AM)

It seems like just yesterday. Like I clearly remember when I held him for the first time in the hospital ward when he was born. My little baby boy Shiraz sent me an email. His first email. The moment I read his email, I knew he has become a big boy.

Checkout his email to me. It reflects the innocence of his mind. And the spirit of sharing with his baby brothers.

Give me your thoughts? How did you first react when you discovered your baby has grown...and how would you react if you found that a baby is now a big boy?

Click here to view a snapshot of the original email which Shiraz sent me.

Verbatim, it said:

" Salaams daddy. daddy bring me any game u want. And for kashif, basit. "

(notice the absent space after the comma for kashif)

Mixed feelings.

Though I felt very, very proud to realize that Sitab (my son) and Alma (my daughter) are grown up kids now, I do find myself looking longingly at little babies. I do find myself missing their baby years which have gone by so fast. :)

Children grow up very fast, it seems just yesterday and my baby boy is now 15 yrs old young man. I realized when he started running errands for me two years back, being there for me when needed. He started chatting with his dad when he was six years old. He is my best friend and he will keep growing and will always remain my baby..BTW I am a baby too today..

haha SRK and babies. Kashif calls SRK as ''crorepati'' after first watching him on KBC.;-) Your son is smart!

Its nice to know that you are a proud father and happy that a son has grown up and could compose an email.Thats's something to be proud of.The little achievement is great enough to inspires parents about their kids.Expect more great things from them.

My son's first day in pre-school,I have the mix feelings of excited and nervous.I can't believe I will be sending a son to school, when many years ago,its my mom who accompanied me to school becoz Im too shy to get inside my classroom. And I'm doing the same with my son,but that was 29 years ago.I'm a bit misty to think that I have raised a child, which is now a fine programmer and has a daughter of his own.Gone are those days when pampers are not available at the market much like now.
Now Im getting crazy of how my grand kids will show their works from school as history repeat itself becoz they are now the little kids who goes schooling.
The feeling is more exciting with grand kids.

Good luck and more power.

no experience with kids, but I do remember this nephew of mine whom I absolutely dote upon.. I guess its a mixture of pride and regret that you see them growing up... There's always a pang that your baby is not a baby whom you can cuddle anymore :)
God bless you all :)

I am yet to be a father, but can somewhat imagine the pride. Wait to read more from him and soon from his siblings.
