Terrible Customer Care and Shipment Service
Apr 03, 2013 07:06 AM 2313 Views

I had ordered a PhotoMug which I am informed was shipped on 18-Mar-2013. I still haven't received it. There is no timeline being committed by Snapfish CustomerCare. Order number: 3263548008-06G. which is horrible.

First Flight courier is terrible. I am unable to reach the courier team over email and phone, which makes it more difficult to customers. Also customer care recommends customers to track with courier for swifter resolution. Obviously Customers don't choose the courier partner. It is chosen by Snapfish. So we shouldn't be asked to follow-up.

I would definitely recommend snapfish to change their courier partner to retain customers.

First disappointment after 3 splendid orders, but definitely a huge disappointment to mess up a good relationship.

Customer Care should definitely be better. They reply without any timeline. Responses like "Appreciate your patience... We have escalated the issue... Will be delivered at the earliest" is not at all sincere. The worst feeling you could give customers, is sound insincere and fake. Otherwise, a product shipped on 18-Mar-2013 should not take 17 days and still NOT be delivered.

Photogifts have a time based validity. It is pointless to receive it much later, where the occasion is lost. You should appreciate the sensitivity behind it.

*Order date : 17-mar-2013

Shipped on : 18-Mar-2013

Commitment : 6-9 days

No committed response from Customer care after 21-Mar-2013, and simply stalling around the issue.

Update on 3-Apr-2013 : Snapfish supposedly "Escalated the issue". But it is tough for me to believe, as there has been no commitment from them since 21-Mar-2013.*

Still waiting for my photogift. At least, they should cancel the order if they can't deliver it within a reasonable time.

And one more thing: please do not get the customer name wrong. There are responses from customer care with wrong addressing, which makes it feel completely impersonal.

Hoping for a reasonable commitment.

I got 70 4x6's for free! How can I complain?
Jan 21, 2013 07:04 PM 2442 Views

I'm surprised at reading that the other reviewers faced poor quality. Mine were fantastic! Colours were sharp and accurate, and that's all I need. I got 70 free glossy 4x6's with free shipping for a promotion that I was extremely fortunate to snap up.

I had no need to contact customer service, as they arrived undamaged 6 days after being notified that they were shipped, which was 9 days from checkout to arrival, which I thought could've been quicker(since it wasn't international shipping or anything) but was adequate. I have no complaints, so this has been a great experience for me. Unfortunately, others seem to have had quite the opposite.

By the way, FLYJAN13 is the coupon code I used at checkout for free shipping. Expires 31 January 2013:).

An utter disappointment
Dec 13, 2012 09:40 PM 2425 Views

It has a good interface for designing and a wide range of products and seeing that I ordered a full image cup. It arrived in 4 days and when I opened a badly packaged courier I found it had cracks in it with some pieces falling off it.

AS it was a birthday gift I couldnt order another as there was no time.

Highly disappointed with their service from whom I had high expectations

Good and quick service
Oct 29, 2012 03:48 PM 2551 Views

This was the first time I tried any online photo printing service. Else it would be a routine walk to the nearest photo studio with a pen drive and asking them to print so and so photos. And keeping in mind these days how everyone who has a business treats customers, such photo studios are not at all bothered to even ask you what you want when you enter their studio.

Compared to this, just uploading photos on the site and ordering them online is a breeze. I got offer of free 30 prints with shipping charges of Rs.49, so I thought of trying them. The prints are good, professional and on par with what local studio will give you.

Worth a try even if you pay for it. I ordered one fine day, next morning I got a mail saying my order was completed and they delivered at 8pm at my home on third day.too quick!

Good Experience
Sep 04, 2012 05:09 PM 2393 Views

After reading all the reviews I took a call to order from Snap fish. my order was 30 odd snaps some small few big ones. Honestly I was concerned about the paper quality. But I was satisfied as the money you pay is quite balanced to the quality of paper. ease of using website was awesome. the best feature was linking it to my facebook a/c . the website pulled all the pics I had posted and I could choose to print them(which I never thought of printing as well).

Now in snapshot:

Likes:

  • Ease of use; website

-selection of size

  • price

-delivered pack(snap fish really took good care of my pics)

-Paper quality good  and acceptable(as per money paid, but one notch down than a kodak prints we get from color labs)

Dis-likes

-Delivery time; dont depend on it for specific time delivery, for me it took 10 days total

-some of the prints were cut; dont know if the size specification standard did this.

Overall: good for few casual, happy prints.

They provide poor quality of photo paper and color
Feb 10, 2012 04:46 PM 3470 Views

I am amazed to see  a good brand HP is involved into something like this. I ordered 12 pics from Snapfish and after receiving them I observed the quality of the color used is dull and paper used for print is non standard (just better than having scanned of copy of photos). In one of the photo graph, the way this have printed is half of the photo is colored and rest half is black & white.

On asking the weird reason given to me was, photo was taken through mobile. But I have observed the same poor quality with the photos taken by my Canon SLR. In India pics have huge emotional value. One would not like to see his late mother's photo to be printed half colored and half black & white, same stands true for somebody's newborn photo.

Though the price is attractive but the quality is below par than that of local studio of your street. A straight no go !!

Quality ok but delivery SUCKS!!
Jun 14, 2011 10:40 AM 3390 Views

I ordered a photobook online through snapfish.in last month. I had prev done a photobook using Blurb. Although the quality of snapfish photobook wasnt as good as the Blurb book, I was impressed with the ease of use and speedy delivery.

But much to my dismay my expectations were not met up the second time around. I ordered a set of invites for my daughters 2nd birthday. The order was shipped more than 9 days ago and its been 10 days since the courier is still cmg frm Goa to Mumbai and the status keeps saying'Internal Misroute' whatever that means. The customer support is even worse where they keep sending a standard template. Tried calling the courier guys but no use.

So for anyone who has tooo much time to waste can go ahead and order from here. I am yet to hear back frm the customer support guys regarding where my package is. Look like I will receive the invite after my daughters birthday has come and gone

Delivered much above expectation
Apr 21, 2011 04:01 PM 3641 Views

I was a little apprehensive about ordering prints on internet and hesitantly choose Snapfish above others. I really like what they sent.

Print Quality : Extremely Good

Service: On time Delivery ( got delivered in 4 days)

Cost: Got 90 Rs off on my first order. I printed out 54 photos and had to pay 133 Rs (including shipping and tax) which means less than 2.5 Rs per print

Extras: Got free albums( 2) to put the photos in.

I would strongly recommend snapfish

OMG! What a website ... HP software team helped to deign website .. looks great ...OMG! My money has gone to DOGS ... what a pathetic service .. no response to mails .. no contact numbers ... no timely delivery ...

Go for https://zoomin.com not snapfish ... snapfish says item being dispatched without product being ready ... and no link in conformation mail to track your (supposed to be) SHIPPED order ...

Never seen this kind of service ... waiting for my order whipped two week back to Bangalore ... must be someone walking all the way from snapfish lab somewhere in India to Bangalore to ensure SMOOTH delivery.

Speedy delivery but low quality
Aug 17, 2010 12:18 PM 3239 Views

First time I used service from HP Snapfish thinking that since its from HP it will have some reliable quality and service.

On plus point deliver was very fast in two days (in Hyderabad). But I am very disappointed by the low quality of photo prints I received. The colors in prints are so messed up either too dark, high contrast or with tint of green just ruining the whole picture that I can't use these in my albums. Paper quality was just ok not good. I have to discard at least half of photos from the lot.

Same images when I got printed from itasveer.com, their print is very good and one can make out the difference.

Sent a feedback to them hope they will take it seriously. Really just exploiting the brand of HP. I think its probably last time I am using snapfish.

Update: Got a reply from Shapfish offering a refund and assurance to look into issue so it is not repeated. To be fair to them at least their customer service is not bad and they did replied within hours.

Nice alternative service if you print online
Mar 15, 2010 08:48 PM 2915 Views

I have used HP Snapfish Calendars, Photo prints and large posters, I would say quality is outstanding.Their website has some quick fix features for photos so you can use it if you don't use digital retouching (I use Google Picasa and then upload to gain full control over editing). It also has other photo products such as Mugs, key rings etc. which I haven't use - so my review is limited to the paper based photo products only.

I didn't need to contact customer care so far. Delivery is fast, Quality is very good and so far I didn't have any problems whatsoever. Highly recommended.

Snapfish.in is terrible
Dec 21, 2009 08:56 AM 3424 Views

Horrible experience with Snapfish. Orders not delivered as per committed delivery time. No helpline numbers available. Email customer service take ages to respond.

Expensive as compared to other online photo printing websites. Better to opt for zoomin.com, itasveer.com, gkvale.com or canvera.com. Snapfish is a waste. Just log into to the website if you are full on album space with google or flickr. Never ever recommend to Snapfish India. Customer Service Associate - Priya. Do not use Snapfish India - It is a waste of money and time. I would strictly recommend against using it. No

Snapfish or Crapfish: Don't let the HP name fool U
Jan 02, 2009 10:21 AM 3106 Views

I had ordered some prints thru snapfish which I received today after a long wait. Here are come of my observations, hope you find them useful.

  1. Cheapest Quality prints:Dull & grainy pictures. The ones you print on ordinary paper with a color printer are almost as good. The digital pix given for print were of good quality... it is just the poor printing.

  2. Slow Delivery Time: It has taken 2 full weeks for me to receive the prints from order date. The max delivery time for photo prints, as per snapfish site is 9 days.

  3. Not-so-friendly site: I did not find the site friendly or even convenient to use. I have used other sites offering much more flexibility.

  4. Pathetic Customer Service: The only way to reach them is by email/fax. Send them and email and you will get the same template reply each time. Basically meant to convey -- to hell with your order, don't bother us, we ourselves don't know when your order would reach you... just wait and hope to get it.... and don't email us again unless you want love reading the template replies.

  5. Packing: Average.. nothing great.

I had decided to try snapfish given the hp name but it was a big disappointment. I still can't believe that it took almost half a monthto get the prints. Customer care sending those template replies is irritating. Looking at the prints you would like to put them in trash.

There are other good sites, which I have tried, with much more friendly interface, offering excellent quality and super-quick delivery at comparable prices.

Snapfish Photo Print & delivery SUCKS - DONT DO IT
Aug 30, 2008 05:54 PM 3457 Views

I had asked for photo print & delivery from Snapfish on 21 Aug 2008. The status on the website showed printed and delivered on the 22nd Aug.

However, until now I have not received the pictures. I have tried calling the customer case number in the US. However, no luck there. I wrote to the customer care asking for the status of my order. Unfortunately, no response.

I have written to the customer care 2 times without a response. This really su*ks. I am not sure if I can ask for my money back. Is there any service level agreement? I have not gone through T&C so far. But will be doing so today and initiate a case of internet fraud. I did not expect this from a company headed by HP.

Anybody had such an experience with Snapfish? Let me know how your experience has been. I would like to know if something else can be done about it.

SnapFish Review
Nov 07, 2007 02:03 PM 5716 Views

I’ve been owning a Digital Camera for more than a year now. I have the Canon Digital IXUS 750 - 7.1 MegaPixel Camera.

I need not say that I have taken a lot of snaps during this period. The Snaps were piling up in my Shared Pictures folder in Windows Vista. My Mom and Sis have been bugging me to get them printed as they don’t like to see photos on the PC/TV and are comfortable with hard prints.

Well, I am a bit lazy and also always short of time due to work pressure so, I could find time to get the photos printed locally. While surfing the NET I came across Online Photo Printing Services. To my surprise, I found many Online Photo Printing Services catering to the Indian Market - PicSqaure, Snapfish, ZoomIn just to name a few. Almost all of them offered free trial prints. I decided to try each of them out. I picked SnapFish India first. So, here is my experience with them:

The Signup process is pretty simple and straight forward. You get free 20 4×6 prints as a trial. They are credited to your account as soon as you upload a photo.

The interface is streamlined and simple to use. You can create albums and upload photos to them.

UPLOADING

There are various ways in which you can upload your snaps:

QuickUpload Tool: It installs an ActiveX in Internet Explorer but, it gives you added functionality. QuickUpload opens a dialog similar to Open File and allows you to navigate your computer through it and shows you thumbnails of the photos. One neat feature is that it automatically resizes your snaps before uploading(if you’ll be printing regular sized prints) and thus, saves your time in uploading as the file size gets reduced due to the resizing done. You can also turn this off if you’ll be printing large sized prints. In that, the snaps get uploaded as they are without any resizing. One thing to note is that it is that this utility is buggy and crashes frequently.

One by One Upload: This is the usual upload thing which all sites have. Select the browse button and click upload.

Email Upload: Here you can upload photos by emailing them to a specified email address.

EDITING

You have the option to Edit photos online and you are presented with the following options:

FIX - Rotate, Red Eye, Auto Correct and Fill Flash

CROP - Orientation(Portrait/Landscape) and Shape(4×6, 5×7 and 8×10)

BORDERS - 11 types of borders

FUN - Here you can change the look of your photos by making them Black and White, Sepia or add tinges of Pink, Blue, Green and Red

After editing it also asks you whether you want to replace the original snap or save as a copy. You can undo made changes on the fly and at any time Revert to the original photo.

SHARING

You can also share whole Albums or Photos with your friends, families and other contacts. I tried using it but, could not get it to work. I always used to get an error when I clicked on Shared Link.

ORDER PROCESS

Now, lets go towards ordering. The Order process is straight forward and simple. SnapFish provides short cuts to order entire albums. The Free Credits are automatically adjusted against your order. At this moment you can only get Glossy Photo Prints from them. I fired a query to Support and they confirmed that at this point of time they only offer Glossy Prints. What I didn’t like about SnapFish is that they store your Credit Card information in their database. They save everything except the CVV code. This is the only thing am not comfortable with.

While ordering prints SnapFish recommends that you print these snaps as 4×5.3 prints instead of 4×6 in order to avoid cropping of the photo. I had not opted for this recommendation so I won’t be able to comment on it. However, I’ve ordered fresh prints at this new size(4×5.3) and update you on this.

DELIVERY

I had ordered the photo prints on 1-11-2007 at around 1.30 AM(however, SnapFish recorded the order date as 31-10-2007). This may be due to time difference of their servers. They deliver to Metros with 3-4 days. I received the prints on 5-11-2007 at around 4 PM. So, they took full 5 days to deliver the photos to me i.e., ONE extra day which I feel is OK. My photo packet was shipped from Goa. When I contacted support they apologised for the delay and said that they are trying to improve upon the turn around time and requested me to give them another try. Well, I will coz I liked the print quality and the ordering process.

PRINT QUALITY

I wanted to know on what type of paper to they print photos on. Customer Support stated that they print on HP Photo Paper which was confirmed when I received the actual prints. The prints were of good quality and they also had sent me a free photo album to keep the photos in. Despite being glossy I noticed that finger prints are not easily attracted on the paper which is very good. I used to get Matt prints all these years to avoid this problem but, it seems the glossy paper has improved over the years.

CONCLUSION

OK, now to sum it all up. I feel SnapFish has delivered what it had promised me. The quality of the prints are good and customer support responds(although a bit slowly). They have a good concept of that QuickUpload utility but, need to iron out the bugs as it crashes frequently. But, this utility is definitely a must for us Indian users where our Internet Speed and Bandwidth both are limited.

Happy Printing!

Feel free to give me your feedback on my review.

Regards,

DJ

How about a snap?!?
Oct 16, 2007 10:57 AM 4789 Views

Looking for ideal gifts for kids can snap your patience. If it's a toy, it very likely gets snapped in a short time. If it's something else, it probably does not snap with them. You really need to snap out of your reverie and go all out to please them. But then, children are also at their snappiest in front of the mirror. They can spend hours clicking snaps of themselves or just snapping the mirror images with their eyes.

Toys are an ideal gift for a kid, but in a joint family, the kids would want to go nuclear(all to themselves or nothing). So toys tend to last for a lesser time with all the snaps and pulls. My daughter(as most girls do) loves admiring herself in front of the mirror. That - combined with the fact that she wanted a T-shirt made my choice.

Now, we have Snapfish services in India. Snapfish is one of those image printing sites which also specializes on gift items. Gift items or rather, promotional items like mugs, T-shirts, key chains and of course calendars. Being in printing, printing appears to be a'snap' for them. Now it remains to be seen if the fish actually snap at their best deals.

Snapfish was taken over by HP a few years back. The site has since then expanded its reach in mostly HP regions. And so it enters India too.( https://snapfish.co.in) Last week it made a quite, muted entry to India.(Mandira Bedi made an appearance on some of the publicity stills.)

When I heard that Snapfish was making an entry to India, I was wondering what it had to offer for India. Now I know. The best offerings appear to be the T-shirt, the mugs and the calendars. You also have keychains too. Ofcourse, your choice of selection of the photos adds value to the product. But customization is always a weak point. I would prefer outdoor shots or closeups of a person in a comic situation. But as a gift, I think it makes great sense. The image of the birthday kid on the T-shirt or the mug and the impression it makes to the party, or the calendars which can be used as return gifts for birthdays, new years, or special occasions! Pretty impressionable for the kids.

What to do? You are initially prompted to create an account. Once that is done, it downloads a plugin control onto your system(much like the MSN photo upload control). Once the plugin is installed, all you need to do is select the images from your picture folders and upload it. Select the ones you want to print and place the order. Of course the upload speeds are usually very slow depending on your ISP. So you might want to restrict the images you want to upload in each session.

What the site offers                        Print images - The 4*6 costs around 2.75

The 57 costs around 9.00               The 810 costs around 45.00

Gifts - I think the only gifts worth mentioning are the calendars, mugs and T-shirts.

Mugs - 195 bucks+shipping(The courier delivery cost around 37 for prints and 137 for the mugs and T-shirt)

T-shirts - 399+ shipping

I got the first 20 prints free, ofcourse, you need to pay for the shipping. Besides taxes for online sites are extra, so you end up with additional taxes. I was expecting my order to arrive from Mumbai or a central Indian location. It is a snap when you upload the digital prints online and order them. However, the quality stands exposed when you look at the prints themselves. The 4*6 standard is small for images taken with specialized cameras. So you might want to avoid it unless you are looking at just building the photo collection. If its with general digital cameras, then it is well worth it. But I would also like to see my panoramic shots printed at this site.(Panoramic shots are bloody expensive at the local studio!) In fact, I think that could be a differentiating factor for this site.

Mugs or Tshirts as gifts for your tiny tots birthday can be of exceptional value. True, Snapfish is an expensive site. I mean the image printing on the mug costs me around 50 bucks in the neighbourhood, but the quality was always something that was best left unsaid. The shipping and the taxes at the site add around 25-30% of the cost if you are placing orders less than 2000 bucks. Above that, your shipping costs come down. If you have a hundred or more images from your digital camera, then this site makes sense. At 2.95 bucks, and 20 snaps free, it works out cheaper than your local studio even with the postal charges!

All in all, this site can improvise on their local offerings. For example, I would like to add a one liner caption next or below the image. However the quality of the offerings is good. The T-shirt for example was not your normal banian T-shirt, but of excellent quality. You also need to know whom to contact for broken/ damaged stuff.(Yup! those mugs can be damaged!)

It's not a snap!
Aug 18, 2001 06:41 PM 4326 Views

Snapfish promises two main services-upload and editing and reprints of digital pictures and developing and printing of regular film. They also offer online albums of both so you can send a link and password to family to view your pictures.

At $1.99 a roll, (the 1st three being supposedly free) for developing and printing with 4x6 photos,it seemed worth checking out.

I mailed 2 rolls of film. These were taken by two different people with two different camera and film speeds. We did receive email notification of receipt and by the end of the first week our pictures were available online. We received the actual prints at the end of the second week. The actual prints were okay-not great. The colors seemed dull and there was no difference between the brightness of photos taken with a point and shoot and 100 speed film and a higher end zoom with 800 speed film. (there usually is considerable difference). But for $1.99 you get what you pay for!

Online, the photos are arranged in albums, at the largest individual view-they are only about 4 inches square. I immediately rotated them all right side up and sent the link to my sister. She was able to use a password and view the pictures. There was a prominently displayed opportunity to purchase copies.

I decided to edit and purchase some reprints. (at $.59 a copy this would be less than the Kodak machine at CVS). The editing function wouldn't work. After 6 emails over three weeks-it still doesn't and it's actually worse. The first two emails were answered although not promptly. The rest have not been.

Bottom line, Snapfish isn't worth the time and effort. Better to spend the extra couple of dollars and get a CD of your pictures (these come with the editing program on them) and print your own or use a scanner and edit your own. Most scanners and printers(as well as some greeting card programs) come with editing software for photos. Buy a pack of photo paper and be sure to change your printer settings to glossy paper. Results will be adequate for most of us amateurs!
