Thanks to a recommendation on Mouthshut, I checked out https://rentimental.com

It's brilliant.

1. No Brokerage charges

What a relief to be Broker Free. I got in touch with 2 flat owners in the first 5 hours. Brilliant.

You just sign in, send a message to the Flat owner, and they'll contact you.

2. Renting other things like TVs, Water coolers, beds, cupboards etc.

They've got good renting solutions. All the stuff you need to set up house can be rented on Rentimental.

Pretty strong listing in Mumbai aka Bombay

3. Room-Mates

I'm looking at a 2 - bedroom in Kandivali, and needed a room-mate. Rentimental has a room-mate finder feature. I'm hoping to get replies from them soon.

4. Excellent Service

If you get stuck, contact them. They reply very fast, with personalized service(at least when I did)

They're helping me find a room-mate. -NO SMOKING!

5. Google Maps

You can see the location of the place on Google Maps. I think thats a cool feature. na?

6. Car Rentals

Man. they've even got Car Rentals. not like I need it. just cool

7. Finding Jobs

So now, Rentimental also puts up skills on rent. So I put my self up too. I'm a small time consultant, and Rentimental goes to companies that can hire out our services.

Rentimental is a simple site that delivers on what it promises: no-hassle, broker-free availability of almost anything. It is really easy to move into a new city, and find a flat based on location.

What's especially great is that they pinpoint the exact location of the apartment on Google Maps, making it really easy to understand your location when you're in a new city. In a place like Mumbai, simply finding a flat in an area as big as Andheri is not useful, but seeing the exact location helps me plan my daily commute much better.

When further help is needed, the support from the company is simply phenomenal. Rentimental staff took a personal interest in recommending apartment locations to consider based on my commute & price parameters. I am generally skeptical of buying things online, but the service that they provide gives me a the confidence that Rentimental will always stand behind their promise.

Rentimental’s service offerings go way beyond apartments. You can almost start a completely new life, from hiring tiffin services to finding a washing machine and plasma TV for the house to renting an LCD projector for your business presentations.

Great experience overall.

This is my first review, so please maaf for the mistakes. I moved to Mumbai recently, and was looking for flats. Through Yahoo! answers I found Rentimental.com

The site "claims" to provide the World on Rent. Basically, they connect people who have stuff to give out on Rent with People who want to Rent things.

They have.

Flats, commercial properties tv, fridges, computers, cupboards, beds, cars, even people (As in for temporary jobs) and... my favourite - ROOM-MATES! To make this simple, I'll divide my Experience into categories.

1. First Impressions: 4/10

My first impression after seeing the layout of the site was one of skepticism. Compared to Magicbricks and stuff, this looked very plain. But after spending time on the site I found that the simple interface actually made it more useful. I don't like the colours though.

2. Did it deliver what it Promises? - 8/10

Rentimental promises No-Broker Renting in Mumbai. And it delivers exactly that. I contacted some of the people I found, and there were actually Direct Owners. Which meant I didn't have to go through a Broker. Some of them were kind enough to email me pictures of their houses. I have still not confirmed any, but so far it looks good.The site is Free to use.

3. Choice of Flats - 7/10

Rentimental has a pretty acceptable number of houses on rent. I'm guessing since no brokers are involved, they don't have as many as other Websites. Maybe they should advertise more to get more owners.

4. Navigation - 4/10

The site's navigation needs some work. For some of us who are used to simple sites, it can be slightly difficult to find what we're looking for. They reallly really need to improve this. I got really annoyed at time. I like sites to look and navigate good.

5. Features - 8/10

They use Google Maps to point out locations of flats. This was good for me, since I dont' know Mumbai, I could see where it was located.

6. Service - 10/10

Now this is where Rentimental finally shines. I was not impressed until I really had to contact them. I was put in touch with someone high up in the company, so I guess it is a small company. The guys PERSONALLY helped my find Room-Mates for the flat I liked. It was very nice for the people at Rentimental to take a personal interest and helping me. Good one.

Overall - 7.5/10

Rentimental delivers what it promises - Broker Free Renting of Houses and Other Stuff that I Needed. However, it's clearly a small company, that needs to grow. They need to do more marketing so people hear about them, and also make their website look fancier.

I have heard Rentimental is doing decent and website is also neat and clean. I like they don’t work on commission and makes our lives much easier

I have used this website couple of times and am a registered member of the website also. I have found few useful information on the website and have some this website to some of my friends.

I guess Rentimental is working to improve its service and expand to other parts of the country.

They are also national finalist of TATA NEN hottest startup and have got award for innovation at Indira International Innovation Summit.

lets see...its a new website....lets give them some more time

Time will tell how Rentimental evolves and if they can prove themselves.

This has to be the shittiest site ever, never works, when it works , there is

nothing on it.

you know its because of people like these that good & honest folk dont

trust the net.

WHOEVER GOT THIS RIDICULOUS IDEA.

i'm seriously of the opinion that before you book a domain name, you must get

your business model approved by a board or something. I mean this is a

perfectly good domain name and we are just wasting it on this good for nothing

site.

believe me, I really tried lokking for something reasonable on RENTIMENTAL and

Rentimental.com is more than a website. It is a convenience and a facility. Users earn on their assets. Be it an extra house, space, cars, service, music etc; everything can be rented out to a hunter, who wants to use it for a constructive purpose. The hunter is a person anywhere in the world, who requires, needs or aspires to use a house or any facility which he cannot own. He/she might not be able to own it due to the lack of resources or might not want to own it because of the limited or temporary utility provided by that product, service or a facility.

Rentimental provides a platform to all the renters to make the most of their assets and to the hunters, who need it the most. It eliminates all brokers and agents and ensures that every hunter avails a FREE service! And a renter ho earns on his assets has to pay not more than $6 in USA, 4 Pounds in UK and Rs 250 INR in India, for a listing!
