CBUS Social Professionals Meetup Group Review
Nov 06, 2020 10:32 AM 1774 Views

By far, the worst Experience that I have ever had with a Meetup Group in Columbus, Ohio was with a Group called, "CBUS Social Professionals 21-45, " headed by Organizers, Mark Kido, Ross and Maurice. No one practiced COVID-19 Social Distancing Suggestions, people were extremely rude(Including the Organizers) and the Events were poorly coordinated. The entire Atmosphere was very Immature and Juvenile. I guess it's more a Casual Group for very young people in their early twenties but not one that can be taken seriously as a Legitimate Networking Group.

Gritting and Bearing It For Over 10 Years!!
Apr 10, 2020 04:06 AM 2001 Views

We would never recommend being involved with this Website Company. Scott from NY started it first. He sold it to WeWork and they had it about 3 years. Now it is owned by Time Share Dave Siegel-well know Florida Time Share Tycoon.age 84. What is he buying more businesses now at this age? AND.especially this low down terrible horrible FAILED company website?

Recently, All of my Introduction Questions were just Removed and suddenly gone! So now.we have nothing on each Profile?! This is not possible as we MUST know strangers from the public and be able to verify some things about everyone who presents us a Profile.PRIOR TO ATTENDING JUST ONE EVENT! Out of the Fullest of Safety and Security.this is always going to be Required.

Now, we are going to have to REMOVE everyone and start over.after 10 Years. Why? Because these profiles will never answer anyone by email And.they won't go in and re-do the questions. This tends to be ALL THE ORGANIZER'S FAULT and GRIEF.Oh Of Course!

This is an impossible way to meet people. It is not a company that promotes, markets, and attracts other good public to it's company website. Off-line has proven to be SO GOOD.and we have regularly attending interested Members having done so.

The amount one pays is a whopping$289. per year, too much, and thus, the Members MUST chip in to move their company Groups Forward. Why would ANYONE.PAY to have or to make Friends. No One In Their Healthy Right Mind!

These Groups are definitely not worth your Blood Pressure going up.having to be that Watch Dog, screening bad people,

removing sick and unhealthy individuals, stalkers, Predators, Spammers, Scammers, and those who Never plan to ever sign up to one event and who will never plan to meet one person in these groups.

This Company website is place for thieves. Public who want to join to STEAL all of your long hours of hard worked events. For the past 5 years.all information on events are sent directly to only those who are Current Active Members Only. No one gets the information to use with your family, friends, and co-workers and take FULL ADVANTAGE of every Group Organizer's hours of research!

Meetup has been a MONSTER for many many years now.having began in 2007. The first 5 years went smooth but after too many public found the site.it began to GO DOWN and now at this time.the Company is more than like gone Defunct and Dead.as far as the Long Term 10-15 Years or more Organizers KNOW WELL!

This is the welcome site for all new business persons . As they have made new system to make groups & activity. So all work is running via good groups. People are automatically getting engaging with their activities. Every person have good benefit of it. Site designing & style is very effective. Everyone can get easily what they want. So many topics have bonded together to explore all things in one place. Nice platform, colour of theme is excellent, look is totally professional. I think plenty of work is running with this platform.

Speed of site is good . Easy to use. Getting everything quickly. Working properly all things .

Meetup.com is awsome
Feb 21, 2019 08:34 AM 3243 Views (via Android App)

Meetup scores an eight out of ten in being a useful application for managing in-person meeting groups. Think of it as the Facebook of meetings: an online community where individuals join and then have access to search for matches among the various groups that exist within their online space. Joining the Meetup does not automatically join or commit individuals to any particular group.

The Meetup system is free for individual members to join and provides the ability to search for specific interest matches on groups listed with in-person “meetups” being held within a designated geographic radius.

Group leaders are charged a fee to set up their group within meetip and to use the system resources. Leaders get a number of valuable capabilities related to group meetings including meeting scheduling and an rsvp system for members, and an automated payment system which is convenient but quite honestly overpriced given that leaders already pay to have groups within the community. While there are a number of ways for groups to charge individuals through the system, the system surprisingly misses a few important options in this arena. For some leaders, having people pay in person is still the best option ( and saves 10 percent in fees) . That's specifically why they only get a eight out of ten.

The system allows group leaders to post an immense amount of background information on the group including graphics, store files for member access, even hide meeting locations from those who haven't paid to attend. Reminder emails are sent automatically and the system allows the group leader to track automated and on-site payments for meetings and / or group memberships.

Other capabilities include the ability to print name tags and attendance lists, track individual attendance, selectively share leadership responsibilities, research meeting places used by other groups, rate meetings, offer members the ability to communicate with each other and more.

Meetup is a very useful tool both for group organizers and for individuals seeking to find groups and individuals that share their interests.

National Park Adventures Meetup is a nightmare
Jan 17, 2019 12:16 PM 3250 Views

This meetup run by Kat is horrible. Though the idea is great, the organizer, Kat, ignores your emails, cannot accommodate the number of people who has been accepted to attend, and gets rude when confronted with her lack of reliability and responsiveness. She is completely incapable of providing what she claims she wants her meetup group to be: getting people together to visit national parks. What a fiasco. Worse than a waste of time!

Beware

I became a member last year. The worst experience ever. I mainly vistied meetups in Germany to improve my German. To my surprise most members couldn't speak more then ten words German while I speak it quite well. My experiences got worse after in one group I got kicked out because I didn't hold a degree in literarure and argumented their choice of only modern literature. Also most of them couldn't read Herman Hesse in German which I can. Even stating that some unknown New York writress was far more influential then Hesse or Mann. In the other group my younger girlfriend nearly got molested. Great news or not. Most are led by expats from the States cause they run away for the Don. Using names like Unique or Miss E they are notorious narcists. Or Mundo Lingo a group that confuses language training with a pyama party. The organizer is never there. Anyway save yourself a lot of trouble and forget about meetup. Just another messup.

Completely useless UI since update

Completely useless UI since the change. Every update it gets worse and worse for organizers. Now it has a completely useless calendar function. You cannot see a month's calendar of all the events, difficult to copy an existing one, difficult to schedule a new one now.

Complete and utter trash now. And it's a paid service.

0 stars if I could.

Meetup CONDONES stalking, harrassment, defamation
Dec 17, 2017 01:52 AM 5050 Views

Meetup CONDONES stalking, harassment, defamation, assault abuse. Meetup in my experience does not assist anyone in particular women when it comes to stalking, harassment, defamation, assault, abuse. Once an event is reported they do nothing, literally nothing - and I believe its because of money(don't want to close an account of an owner/organizer who pays them a fee to have a meetup group) and reputation and legal issues(ie. don't want to be involved in getting sued). They hide what is really happening to people in particular women. Try to report a simple defamation or stalking matter and the technicians don't even teach you how to block all members ie. you can select only receive messages from organizers. If you report anything remotely serious they ignore it and do not even respond so they cannot be held accountable. If the police get involved ie stalking then meetup has nothing to say and will not get involved. Meetup condones abuse. Meetup condones abuse particularly to women. BEWARE OF meetup.com The most scariest matter is that if someone is abusive toward you and basically attacking your character, making up lies etc. they can post your picture, business name(if you list it on your profile), your comments(ie. private messages to organizer/owner of that particular meetup group) and this IS ALL PUBLIC ie. on internet, on meetup, on group pages, on event pages - wherever the organizer chooses to do so.

Really Interesting !
Jun 09, 2017 03:52 PM 7122 Views

Hi this is Shaney Ahmad Sharing you my personal experience about this social networking site. Well it is quite Good and interesting.

You can hook up with people having same interest like yours.

The site is quite well managed and organised.

You can add several people in on yours group and discuss about everyday life or something trending, or be added in a group which matches your interest.

Here you can personally add someone to your chat and hook with them up!

It's a really work done by the developers.

It had been 5 months since I'am on this site, surfing happily.

I have made many friends which were unknown to me, let me tell you there's no one who can do fraud with you on this site it is completely safe and secure.

Their are various helpful options like your match finding groups or individual peoples, finding someone special and many more.

It's very very user friendly, you need no one to teach you once you'll be there.

Really does what it says and no fake profiles are there that nay scam you. Fast in response.

If you want to meet up with the peoples that may make your day or life bit happy then must visit here.

This was my personal experience, hope this might help you. Thank You.

Hey MeetUp I'm Coipying and Pasting this Review Ha
May 21, 2016 01:55 AM 9309 Views

The overall experience was disappointing. First I wanted to find some hobbies or interests outside of my current group of friends. I joined some social groups and even some singles groups I am a very shy person when put into a social situation where I know no one. I decided to interact with a few people before I would show up at an overpriced event with strangers.

I wanted to get a feel for the group, what to expect and to be able to get to know someone before attending an event.  I received responses back from other interested members. Then meetup deleted my account stating I was sending spam messages!  Apparently they have a rule against copying/pasting messages.  How many different ways can you say “Hi can you tell me what your opinion is of said group?”

How feasible is to make sure every message is unique?  Is it really spam if members are talking to each other? Isn’t the point of this site for basic networking? If I’m in a singles group isn’t the point to meet others who may share common interests? Apparently not. Meetup wants you to be forced into awkward social situations and then you are free to conversate with others in your group. In this day and age meetup might be the only site where one is not allowed to send online messages. Truly bizarre.

Worst part was I don’t even get a warning that what I was doing was against their Terms of Service. Just tried to log in one day and got a message my account was deleted and would not be reinstated. That was just bizarre.

Of course trying to get an explanation from customer service is like trying to get a toddler to explain why they thought it was a good idea to eat cat poop. They are of no help. You can’t have a conversation with them. They are however really good at replying with scripted correspondence that offers no real answer to one’s specific issue. And that includes responding back and informing them that they haven’t really explained their position, offered a reasonable solution or even appear to have actually read your email query to them.

In my opinion trying to get customer service to help is a complete waste of time. They have no idea what that term means. And that’s apparently OK with them until we as consumers stop buying their product or someone else develops a similar model.

One more thing MeetUp: “Your account will not be reinstated. Thank YOU for understanding. Sh!tbirds

Great concept..But need Improvement...
Apr 08, 2016 02:08 AM 9252 Views

A great concept to socialise & make new friends around your place. It is based on simple concept you make groups, invite other to join the group & then organises meetups at different places.

The concept is really good but I think it needs to regulate the groups which peoples forms at there website. Since many people is using the platform to charge unnecessary money from peoples which defeats the vary purpose of this site.

Nice Concept But Badly Implemented!!!
Jan 26, 2016 12:23 PM 9370 Views

The concept of the Meetup.com is very nice, you can join as well as create a group which intrest you and plan and then organise a meetup. You can learn from experience of the people from the same field or from people whose interest is same as your's. Meet new people with similar hobbies or interest at time and place which every one of you is comfortable.

The only drawback of meetup.com is that the success or failure of the meetup is entirely depend on the team leader. If the team leader is not capable of handling team members and make them come to an conclusion then the meet will flop. I have attended 3 to 4 meetup out of them only one was successful and enjoyed a lot during that meetup.

Overall if you want to meet new people with similar interest  or hobbies and learn as well as spend time together then this is your place. I would recommend it to everyone try it once.

If you are longing for personal interaction
Jun 29, 2013 09:11 PM 5522 Views

Overview

You may have hooked up with  FB, in and other number of social network sites. This one provides a platform to get introduced to the folks who has similar interest. This site not only provides platform to interact by finger tips but also chance to meet up! There is nothing like meeting in person.

Personal experience:

So far I've attended two events that I got to know through this forum. One for start-up entrepreneurship and the other for career development. I was amazed by the group of folks that comes to these event organized by spirited individuals/organizations. It provides nice platform to showcase one's talent as well.

Privacy

You can expose yourself as much you want by hooking up FB, in, tweeter or carefully cover your track. Based on your association to a group, you could get recommendation like folks in your group are also member of salsa dance group. get the idea?

Verdict

Overall I'm pleased with the opportunity it presents to connect with the folks who has same brain wavelength, face and smell:)

Why don't we meet now?
Feb 10, 2005 08:38 PM 7018 Views

Yes, we are becoming net addicted more and more. Of course indian scenario is different. Our bandwidths and internet connections still dont let us to go so far.

This website is a good community site I have seen in recent times. Well classified by interests and locations people meet together by prefixed dates by posting events, sending RSVP s. The organizer had good number of tools to gather his members. Novelty of this site is whole thing is focused towards meeting together physically. So we can listen the real reviews and comments by shedding anonymity. Many groups

I hope one day MS too incorporate such tools. Tracking meet ups near to our location by distance of KM , number of alerts by customized queries. Wow, an organizer's dream tools which you can find in those phishing network marketeers websites.

Now the members are more than 1.5 million and Topics covered are beyond 5,000.
