FanArtReview.com does many things and does many things well.
First you can post photography or artwork. When you post your work you get feedback from other members. The feedback is usually detailed and is designed to help you improve as an artist. I find this is the most fun part of the site. I enjoy posting my photos and reading the feedback from other artists. Often they see things that I simply did not see. And I can use that advice the next time I shoot photos.
The second part of the site is the contests. The are so many art and photo contests! FanArtReview.com offers both weekly and monthly contests. The weekly contest is usually a simple challenge such as shooting a photo of a pet. Something you can do quickly with a tight deadline. I look at these as my challenges of the week.
There are also contests that have deadlines that are a month or two away. The contests do have cash prizes. So if you are looking for a photo or art contest it is included(for free) with your membership.
You also get a profile and a portfolio that you can use to share your art and photography. You can put your art and photos up for sale. This is something that I take advantage of. The feedback you receive is also beneficial because buyers can read the feedback that you make available. So if they are uncertain about buying it but see a glowing review from an artist that can help the sale. Being able to point to these comments on the site or even off the site(if you are fortunate enough to have a gallery showing) is a benefit.
The site also provides a recognition system. If your art or photo is well received by reviewers it can be recognized or reach the "All Time Best" status and the post will be marked as such. If a post wins a contest it will be marked as a contest winner. It is a nice to have a work recognized in this way.
So FanArtReview.com is a wonderful site for artists and photographers. It has a community atmosphere allowing you to discuss your art with people from around the world. The contests are fun and can reward you a cash prizes. And you sell your art and photos if you want to.
I highly recommend it to artists and photographers no matter what level you are at. So if you are just getting started FanArtReview.com will benefit you. It will also benefit a seasoned pro.
