Don't Go For CricLive.com
Feb 10, 2017 06:47 PM 4353 Views

I have used CricLive.com two three times but I didn't like it. I would still prefer other better cricketing website in comparison to this website.

The service and support was just average. It could have been a lot better.

The information depth was also not so good. It lacked classification and presentation in a proper way.

The content timeliness was just poor also.

The design of the website is the most important thing and it was below average.

The website load time was okay, though.

I will give it 2/5 stars.

Revised but the wrong site
Feb 20, 2003 07:00 AM 10676 Views

For Cricket crazy India this is a fantastic site. It automatically opens up if you have your home page as https://internet.vsnl.net. It gives you the latest score and alos the detailed break down of all the technical data. It is fantastic for those who are ofnd of collecting cricket data. It gives the complete score card.

India finally won the match against Zimbabwe after the flak it got from the die hard fans. They would be happy to see the detailed score card and save it as a piece of history. I am sure they will make a placard of the score card and carry it in a ceremony around the city the same way as they burnt the effigies of the cricketers after they lost to Australia!!

Ok Ok I am sorry. I know the review was rather poorly written and was not worth logging on to. So here I have revised my reiview and hopefully it will meet the high standards of MouthShut.com and live up to my reputation.

I was about to log off when I decided to look up what are the topics on which people have asked for a review. When I was going through the list, I happened to see that someone had asked for a review on https://criclive.com. I was so impressed with https://cric8.com , which springs up no sooner than you log on to https://internet.vsnl.net that I thought I started writing a review in a case of mistken identity. I mistook https://circlive.com for https://cric8.com After I had written a few lines I happened to glance at my watch. l realised that I was going to get late for office. I had not shaved nor had a bath and I knew that if I delay by another 5 minutes, I will be late. I am a stickler for punctuality. I believe that it is better to be five minutes early than to be a minute late. Anyway, the result was that in a hurry, I posted the review which I would not have posted in my normal senses. At that tiem I thought that I will review it later and add to it.

Later, when I read the comments, I realised what a blunder I had made. There was no way to retract it. You can’t undo a wrong, but you can always make ammends for it, so, now I am putting the record straight. I have not seen the web site https://criclive.com so I am in no position to review it, but yes I will certainly log on to the site and see its layout.

Now that I have made a blunder, I might as well review the other cricket site which I found very interesting i.e. https://cric8.com . Yes I am a cricket enthusiast, but I am not a fanatic. I do feel happy when our national team wins and feel bad if the team loses, but I do not burst crackers when they win and do not burn their effigies when they lose. I see cricket as a sport and not as a religion. Not that I condone fanaticism in religion, but, a sport loses its charm when we over do things.

What the over enthusiastic fans of Cricket did on India is unpardonable. Defacing Saurav Gangoli’s house just because India lost to Australia, asking people not to drink Coca Cola or Pepsi (since many cricketers are their brand ambassadors) till the Indian team wins is outrageous!

Anyway, coming to the site https://cric8.com As soon as you log on to https://internet.vsnl.com a small window pops up on your screen showing https://cric8.com -live score card. This window gives the latest score for the match which is in progress or has recently concluded. If there are two matches in progress then it shows a link to the other match also. It shows the summary of the score with a link to the complete scorecard in case you wish to see it. The complete scorecard, besides giving the details of the match, also has a link to the statistics department. It has a 150 kb desktop score card which can give youthe live scores ball by ball. You can select the country whose statistics you wish to view. You can then select the country against whom they played and in which year. It also gives the overall statistics of each country.

You have the world cup history, the best batsmen, best bowlers best fielders.

You get the details of teams and squads with the career statistics of each player, the matches which are coming up and of course a cricket quiz for the enthusiasts.

There are screen savers and wall papers too, so you can get the pictures of all your favourite heroes in action right on your desktop.

In order to let you give vent to your feelings, they have incorporated a suggestions box. I am sure many of those who take to the streets after a match, can let off steam through the suggestions box.

Enjoy your cricket and enjoy the surfiet of cricketing action on https://cric8.com . I hope I have made up for the rather sketchy and obnoxious review I had b\penned earlier. My appologies to all my friends who had read it and felt disappointed. I am off to log on to https://criclive.com to see what I have missed and how I got mixed up.

THEY HAVE EVERYTHING EXCEPT CRICKET!!!!

MS sought opinions on https://criclive.com.

As you are well aware it is World Cup Season, so all road lead to South Africa & on net, cricket website is the Flavor of the Month.

When you hit https://criclive.com in your IE, a gloomy web page open on your screen, these days our eyes are habitual of seeing graphics, colors etc, but hey it seems as if I arrived on some condolence website, anyway, the home page showing a link to India Vs Australian match live, so I clicked that link, but to my surprise the web page taking awful lot of time to load, I think the match will be finished by that time.

Now, moving on to other parts of website:-

The Home page is having some interesting links, where they are asking your opinions!! (Hey, does MS inspire them !!!???)

It has other links like ODI Records / Test Records/ Feedback/Advertise/ FAQ/Privacy Policy etc.

Fine let’s click first to FAQ, OK let’s see what we got, hey it is in question format, you’ll ask question it will answer like a genie cool isn’t it?

By this time our scoreboard hadn’t load at all????

Fine let’s click feedback bingo!! Same question format (hey I am wondering whether I am on cricket website or is it KBC!!)

Now click to Advertise, by god, again questions (let me see is this criclive or some other website, but this is criclive, where everything is present except Cricket.

Fine lets us see Privacy Policy (by this time the scoreboard hasn’t load) this page too hadn’t loaded at all , wait a minute PAGE LOADED, my god this the shortest PP I ever seen in my life & what a relief at least it is not in question format.

In case of any concern about your privacy, please write to us at swuthoo-men@modi.com , we will respond to you immediately. OK?

Though, they do have other links like Image Gallery, Downloads, Database, expert says, cricketing tips and Player search etc. but frankly speaking I could not gather enough guts to open those links.

The scorecard hasn’t opened till yet (I’ve started when India was 7 /0 & now India is on 70/5) so you can understand my misery & my harassment first Indian are playing so well & the scorecard is not loaded, well it does showing advertisement. (Why it is like that India, who is the FUTURE IT SUPER POWER, comes up with such stupid, lame websites.)

The advertisement campaign is taken care by our very own Mrs. Juhi (Mehta) Chawla & guess what they are airing this ad on F-TV isn’t it great marketing strategy!!! You know all the Indians/Asians are huge F-TV fan :))

http://www.criclive.com is torture for your eyes, pain in A**. Pl. do not open until you want some.

My Heartiest Regards for the creator of this website, may god mercy on their soul.

Lost my vote recently
Feb 13, 2003 07:56 AM 6292 Views

Criclive.com was my favourite site for cricket scores till recently.

Before now? Let me tell you why I liked and depended on it. Firstly, it gives the score-board right on the first page, without even having to scroll down. That too, if there are two or more matches going on, in all probability, the match most people are interested in will be on the opening page. Secondly, it uses a Java applet which doesn't work over HTTP. This means that the whole page needn't be refreshed repeatedly; the applet will just get the latest scores and update the screen. Also, if you lose HTTP access (not complete Internet access), this site will work whereas you're completely cut off from the rest of the sites.

But occasionally, the applet seems to get stuck, as if the match is frozen in time -- server possibly reeling under overload...! At that time, one has to go to some other site like CricInfo.com or cricketnext.com. Now, it seems like they have revamped their page for the World Cup (2003) and there is no score-board on the first page! Lastly, the news is not refreshed regularly and stays stale upto a few days' time.

So, while I'd recommend criclive.com for it's innovative Java applet mechanism, CricInfo.com is far more dependable.

Cricket .........with no boundaries

Criclive.com a cricket site which is one among the best sites for cricket. Its information base is so broad that has no boundaries. Its a unique site by itself. Now with the World Cup fever slowly catching on. I think this site has lots to offer. With its fastest updates , individual scores & a good layout makes it all the more interesting. The site download is also quick

It also has other features like Desktop downloads, cricket headlines, cricketing history of each player, latest headlines, up coming & recent matches, Image gallery, Game zone etc where their cricketing kits are full with information you can ever think of. Also their column cric - o- talks is worth a mention here and afcouyrse their statical corner.

All in all a very good site for the cricket watchers as this game is the heart and sould of India.Played in every Nukkad and Galli by rich & poor it knows no class and no Boundaries.

I need not say more Cricket fans can check it out for themselves.

Live cricket with TV like comfort

From the gamut of cricket sites splashing cricket world wide,i had a special love towards criclive.com.Criclive has a separate uniqueness of its own.No doubt, the java applet takes a little time to get loaded on the browser but after that it certainly promises sheer enjoyment for the cricket lovers. Moreover the quick updates of ball by ball coverage, individual scores,& good format is what makes criclive ,one of the great cricketing sites.Even this site contains other usual features but it is the scorecard display which provides the taste of real cricketing flavour for the fans of cricket. The sheer enjoyment generated by criclive is almost the same as TV viewing. When watching a cricket match, dont just forget to have a glance at criclive.com.

One of my friends recommended me this site and I am quite convinced with the content.in a single window one will be able to see all the players in a team with the playing duo highlighted, and also the bowlers list with latest stats against each player.no need to scroll down or up, no need to click on other links to know about other team members, this really is a good site. content is arranged very neatly.site also loads fast.with cricket fever back again in india with the tour of australia, those who are not able to glue to their TV sets at home and those who have access to internet at office and for those willing to know what is happening in the match online I prefer criclive.com. for those who want to keep in touch with cricket matches on line this undoubtedly is recommendable.
