In the April of 2010, I was denied promotion in my job because of all silly reasons and bad mouthing by a colleague to my boss. I was by passed over by my boss for many important projects, even though I had the most experience and expertise. I had put in 9 years of experience and wanted badly to get into senior management, and out of my current profile (I work for one of India's biggest IT cos ).
I was recommended to perform certain pujas to counter my bad phase by my family astrologer and he arranged a local priest to perform the same. The priest visited my residence and performed the necessary pujas, he only took 45 minutes (and charged a hefty fees for the whole thing) as he had a marriage scheduled for him that day and assured good times ahead and left in a hurry. My situation actually ruined further post all that.
I was almost made up my mind to resigning from that company where I had spent my last 9 years and was considering updating my resume. My astrologer told me that the gods were angry and that I will have the same situation till 2014, when my Mars dasha in my present job. I found it very hard to accept my fate, I have not harmed anybody ever in my life and I was angry at everybody and everything.
My brother, who works for a top investment bank in Manhattan told me that the common purohits in India in present times who simply do not have the quality or expertise needed to perform pujas. But he knew certain highly acclaimed priests from certain pockets in Kerala, who still retain the Vedic heritage and were the best in the Vedic Rituals in present times. He also told me that recently their services were also offered through a website called AstroMerits.com. I got in touch with AstroMerits.com, through their website and later talked to one of the pundits over phone. I found the interaction to be extremely professional. I had book the puja by making a payment through the bank, I don't like PayPal. I received the invoice and puja confirmation from them within an hour of transfer. I was informed that all the pujas will be telecasted live with high clarity cameras and that I can view the same from any part of the world. On the day of the pujas, I logged into Skype a few minutes before the assigned time. I had booked a Puja and Homa for Goddess Bagalamukhi which was to last for 5 hours. I felt the price was costly, but as the recommendations came from my brother, whose intelligence and advise I had always trusted, I knew that I wouldn't be at loss. I was asked to wear an yellow dress, not to apply oil on my hair, not to comb my hair and not to use perfumes or any artificial makeup etc. Prior to the Puja, Since I had done my own research on Goddess Bagalamukhi from web based sources and understood why I was asked to do such things for the puja. Even before the puja, I had realized that the people whom I am interacting with through AstroMerits lived and meant what they preached, were firm on their viewpoint and serious about goddess worship, not sweet talking priest I had experienced with. They weren't money minded but had commitments like sponsoring Vedic education etc to certain Veda Pathashalas, because of which they offer web based services to people from across the globe.
The Pujas and Homas started at 3.00 AM in the early morning ( the muhurtha was then, I was told; for maximum effectiveness ) and went on till 9.30 AM. (It took more than 5 hours). I was explained all the steps involved in the Puja before the commencement and was asked to take part in 'Sankalpa' or a pledge wherein I recite certain mantras which were uniquely worded to my current situation and that I am seeking the blessings of the goddess for XYZ benefits. I was informed that something like 'power of attorney' was involved wherein I transfer the right to perform the pujas to the preist on my behalf. All this was worded in Sanskrit, and I was surprised by their mastery of Sanskrit and could appreciate the complexity and orderliness of the entire ritual.
I participated in the Homa and Puja ritual, chanted mantras as instructed with highly devoted and cleansed mind, kept envisioning image of Goddess Bagalamukhi in my mind, simultaneously reciting the mantra which I was told to recite. I did not feel tired or hungry during the entire proceedings of the Puja, neither did the preist. As promised, the Pujas were telecasted using High-Definition (HD) cameras live, Video and Sound in crystal clear clarity. Post the pujas, I was asked to get back with my updates in three different intervals 30 days, 60 days and 90 days. I was also asked to repeat a mantra for an hour once every week for even greater effectiveness
The next few days were really good, my life was good and I was feeling confidant and happy. There were no major problems in my office either. Now the magic unfolds, on the 30th day, I got the news that my boss is getting transferred and and I am soon getting a new boss. this was amazing. The Pujas had paid off. For the first time in my life I understood what Hinduism was about and the power of Vedas!
The magic doesn't end here. The person who had been bad mouthing me and harassing me was charged with a serious case of governance malpractice by her subordinate on the 42nd day post and was asked by the HR to resign, which she did after giving a huge fight. I was shocked and surprised. Utter disbelief. Out of the blue.
