Stay away from Zunroof. Especially in south India. Review on ZunRoof Tech

I, unfortunately, opted to go with Zunroof to install a 5kW setup on my rooftop. One of the primary factors to opt for them is that I never saw a single negative review against Zunroof. Well, for you, I hope that it is about to change.

In short, these guys do not find trustworthy and have a very poor team. They fell short on everything and finally failed with my project big time. Below is my experience:

1.Slow in planning executing:

I paid 100% of the charges upfront and it's been 9 months that I am waiting for my setup to produce at full capacity. My installation was promised to go live by 22nd March 2020. They delayed it and then dragged me onto Covid19/Lockdown bandwagon until the last day of September 2020.

2.Technically weak and workforce not coordinated:

The engineers(so-called?) who arrived at my place were unable to answer any technical queries. They often expected that someone else from their organization would, but no one did.

3.Poor outsourcing: My installation was outsourced to GoSolGen in Hyderabad. They still haven't installed the elevated structure''s bracings that Zunroof folks promised. The ground force folks from GoSolGen informed(maybe true or false) that payments from Zunroof are held up and hence such behavior from them. For now, neither Zunroof nor GoSolGen folks have responded that planned bracings/supports will be installed. I may have to get them installed at my own expense.

4.Poor ethics or lazy folks(I am oriented towards the former):

I have been billed 208k and was suggested that I need to pay an additional amount for a net maker. So far, I have been given an invoice of about 178k with free net maker installation. My calculation shows that they owe me back anywhere between 15 to 20k, but be more than 1.5 months that they have not responded.

5.Virtually non-existent technical support post-installation:

With my stars aligned favorably, I received a net meter and my site went into production on the 30th of September. Since then I have been complaining that my installation generates only 2 to 5 units a day compared to an estimate of 20+ units. All on deaf ears.

Fortunately, when folks from Orbit Solar heard my plight, they offered a free inspection and fix free of cost. They wanted to ensure that I do not spread negativity about rooftop solar installations in the Hyderabad area so that it does not turn away adopters. As promised they did fix the issues and my installation is producing power at expected levels.

Not all may have experienced what I did, but I guess every other company or provide would sail through seamlessly when there are no challenges or issues. I am not sure about other companies or providers, but I know for sure that Zunroof has all the qualities to let you down and miserably.

On the thing about opting for a rooftop setup, I will get back with updates in about six months with experience and ROI calculations.
