I wanted to see the film for a long time. But just could not. Yesterday I was lucky enough to get a chance to watch the movie. Looking at the promos I had the impression t that it must be a typical police- terrorist movie, where the terrorist makes demands, police throw water on plans. Two police officers, always helpless one would become shaheed.
I was not interested in the movie itself, I only wanted to watch Naseer's movie. But when I saw it, I found a total new treatment. I would like all of you to watch it and so won't tell the story in detail ( I am sure u know it) But movie is fast-paced, no songs, no unusual family sob sob scenes....
Back-ground Music is in sync with the movement of story. It's more of thought-provoking movie... it's not a lesson in plan -execution. So aisa kaise ho sakta hai, ye mut poochhna, for that matter hero-villain main road par ladte hain and no police and no phone calls from the shop owners, jinki kadhaiyon mein se tel pheka jata hai and soon
Jab useless scenes pacha sakte hain... so why not a sensible film.?
Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah are best as usual. They have performed par excellence . Other things which are adorable are:
Characterization of Arif Khan, Jai Singh
The scene in which Anupam Kher asked Jai Singh if he is married, if he has kids.... Classic impact without any overacting and melodrama
When one of the terrorists tells Arif, London or USA mein ghus ghus ke mara... and Arif replies" India mein aakar galati kar di"
The moment Anupam Kher comes to know that the caller does not belong to any terrorist organization, he gains confidence and Naseer asks him " Jaise hi aap ko pata chala main terrorist nahi hoon..aapne bhi mujhe serious lena chhod diya".. is classic...
Jimmy Shergill has come a long way from Jimmy in Macchis to Yahaan and now in Wednesday.
He has played the role of a rough and tough guy, a police officer who is a terror for all the criminals. A loud applause for his performance.....
- The relationships which don';t have any name. Eg: we see people in our buses, locals but never know anything more about each other. we have a bond with fellow passengers though we don't know names... Such relations are seldom portrayed in our movies.
Director deserves accolades. The opening of the movie is that Anupam Kher is retired and he thinks about the most interesting case in his life. The mood of the movie is set in the first scene and the director has carried it very well till the end.
Story apni line se zara bhi nahi hati. No distractions of item songs which are supposed to be the most imp ingredient of action movies. Dialogues are good and are very natural, the ones we generally speak in our daily life...
