I dont know what it is about these travel agencies but they inevitably manage to screw up something during your trip. In 2017, all went well with regards to the travel arrangements and food and most of the hotels except in one fancy place where the washroom ceiling was leaking and after some argument with the front desk staff, we were provided a different room, same category with a non leaky washroom. Maybe because it was a different country where they take scamming the public very seriously that prompt arrangements were made. However all my clothes and shoes were damaged. I have no clue who is responsible for this, was it the hotel staff or the airline staff but it was a terrible experience in that regard.
Come to 2018, my second experience with Veena World was way worse with regards to travel arrangements. First they demanded we pay extra if we wished for an SUV and not a sedan which we promptly did . Everything went well as long as we were touring Darjeeling where the driver warned us that the Sikkim travel agents aren't very reliable and needless to say that was exactly our experience. They turned up with a Maruti 800 instead of a Innova and reasoned that we were just doing local sightseeing so it was okay doing it the way they pleased. It's only after talking to the Veena world agent that the vehicle was exchanged. On the penultimate day of our journey, the driver made us leave the hotel at about 4am from Lahchung, dumped us at a hotel at Gangtok way before our check in time, refused to answer calls post that, went away gleefully for his next ride and I had to again speak to Veena world to help us with an early check in because the hotel staff was proving not to be of much use. I dont understand if I have to be all tensed up during my travels because of such shoddy arrangements, I would prefer to avoid these travel companies. It's not just Veena world, in my opinion most travel companies fleece customers in some way or the other and you really have to put your foot down and demand what they have promised.
