Tripadvisor is great only for customer reviews - but do not make the mistake as we did of booking a hotel or anything on their site - better to use the other tried and tested makemytrip, cleartrip etc or book directly with the hotel .
Tripadvisor DOES NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMER SUPPORT - once you start hunting for it you will find its one of those sites where it is literally impossible to get even an email id for customer support leave along telephonic support for India . Hate such sites which make it virtually impossible for customers to contact them! if you are into booking hotels etc then the accepted thing is you also have customer support service else what are customers supposed to do later?
In our hotel booking confirmed by Tripadvisor - it was clearly mentioned that taxes are paid yet when we confirmed the booking with the hotel they informed they are not aware of any such thing and taxes would have to be paid at the hotel and they are NOT responsible for any communication by tripadvisor .
Basically Tripadvisor is just a front for which it gets a commission but it links up to other applications for the booking etc hence any actual booking with them can get really messy!
