I watched Transformers, the revenge of the fallen yesterday at Gold Big Cinemas in Pune, the movie was awesome and it was evident from the audience footfall it had gathered on the third day after release, while I was booking the tickets online, I saw morning 9:00 am show sold out completely, since tickets are cheap, even the evening show was packed fully, did not see this much audience even for X-men origins Wolverine.
Okay, the movie begins with Sam Witwicky(Shia Lebeouf), packing to leave for college and happens touch a dropped a piece of all spark fragment and suddenly all the electronic devices in his house start transforming to decepticons and they pull down his house, while bumblebee comes to rescue, Sam secures the all spark fragment and gives it to his girl friend Mikaela Banes(Megan Fox), who comes to see off Sam.
The story rolls from here in a sequence if events where the autobots still keep hunting the decepticons hiding across the globe, with a secret team of USA military, the government thinks of asking the autobots to leave the planet since they think it is them who are the purpose of decpticons to stay on planet earth, while decepticons manage to locate the last peice of all spark under army control, also locating Megatron under the depth of sea, bringing him back to life, this is where all the mayhem begins.
Story of the movie is fast paced, it's bigger and much better, seems Micheal Bay gave a big wrestling ring to the bots for fighting this time, action sequences could seem too fast to watch for some who have not watched transformers earlier, it's a cool metal grinding and crunching fight stunts that would keep you to the edge of your seats.
The humor quotient of the movie is also good, to the likes of teenagers and the youth, Peter Cullen voices Optimus Prime and Hugo Weaving voices Megatron, New villan in this series is The Fallen voiced by Tony Todd, he is the master to Megatron, captive on a savage planet, waiting for the last Prime Autobot to die, so he can be free and complete the mission left incomplete thousands of years back.
Megan Fox is the eye candy material in the movie, she does not have much to offer in terms of acting, Shia LeBeouf, is on the run and in the action guy throughout the movie, supported well by the other cast in the movie, Micheal Bay has being able to tie the emotional quotient in the movie to the bots very well, visuals are stunning, towards the end, where the stage is set for final fight in Egypt.
I would not dwelve much into the plot of the movie ahead, if you are a sci-fi action movie fan, don't miss this movie, even if you have not watched the transformers part 1, there are more bots in this movie than the previous, better close shot action, fast paced story and some great action sequences, it's like watching your favourite superhero cartoon show, feling elated and happy to see your superhero defeat the baddie and bring peace to earth again.
