I live in Australia (Perth) and am a Toyota man for many years ever since I left my old Fiat back in India. I am really amazed that Toyota manufacture different models in different countries.
I own a corolla for years and I just love that car. Recently, I purchased Toyota Tarago, which is a family mover with eight seat capacity. It has a 2.4 litre engine compared to Innova which has 2.0 litre engine. I am pretty sure the space inside Tarago is definitely more than that of Innova. There is another smaller model in Australia called Toyota Kluger, which is an all wheel drive (AWD), smaller than a Tarago but should have inner space like Innova.
I would suggest people should definitely look at other models as well, such as those offered by Honda, Chrysler, Mitsubishi before making a decision to buy Innova.
In my personal opinion 2.0 litre engine for a people mover is very small engine. Even Corolla has a 1.8 litre engine!!!
Please ignore my ratings since I have never seen Innova on road here in Australia.
