I am writing this review under the section "Tips on the Effective Use of Search Engines". Yes, there are hundreds search engines existing in the web. We seem to know only few of them like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask etc. Among them, the big "G" aka Google has made it to the top as far as search engine popularity is concerned. Others are way behind it.
At the present moments, search engines means only Google to most of us. Common people with normal Internet activity and knowledge mostly use Google for any query. So, it is really important to be able to search like a professional on Google to get the optimum result on **SERP( Search Engine Result pages)**.
While using Google search just be casual and normal and type the question or topic that comes in your mind normally. No need to write something fabricated or extraordinary.
There are lots of search operators for using Google search and we do not use them frequently. But, if you can use at least some of them in a proper way, you are bound to get excellent output for your search.
Google works on **Broad Match** and **Exact Match**. Normally we search broad match and get the broad match results.
Now, what is broad match search? Say you are in search of some remedies or ways to losse your weight. You simply type weight loss on Google, and the search results will display all the sites related to weight loss, or similar terms related to weight loss, or medicines for weight loss etc etc. In fact, there is a chance for some unrelated sites to be displayed. So, you may not be directed to the pages that you were targeting. But, if you search using a quotation mark like "weight loss", you will get more filtered results where only the sites having the word in the same sequence will appear. So, it is always wise to use quotation mark while searching on Google. Searching with quotation mark will give you exact match results.
Just have a look at the attached screen shots just to get a simple idea:
When I search writing only **weight loss** the search is showing **24, 80, 00, 000** results, where as when I search the same word "**weight loss"**(using quotation mark), the search is showing only **20, 50, 00, 000** results. It means you are now getting filtered results to meet your criteria or requirements. So, I hope you have got the point here and usefulness of using quotation mark on your search phrase.
There is another easy tiechnique while you are browsing through a huge site with lots of content. It literally takes lot of time to search for your desired topics in a huge volume site.
Now, let's say, you are searching for weight loss related articles on mouthshut.com. Now, simply open Google and type **site: mouthshut.com weightloss** and just see the google output. You will be quite happy to see the results, rest assured. So, it will easily save your time and you can land up on your desired pages so fast.
Please use these two above mentioned tips and they will surely benefit you in the searching.
HAPPY SEARCHING!
