This album ''Something to be'' by Rob Thomas has a repertoire of 12 songs mostly written by Rob Thomas, formerly with the rock band Matchbox Twenty. He
is the one who had success with a duet with Santana called “Smooth”. Rob Thomas has won Billlboard’s Songwriter Of The Year two years in a row and I find this set of songs mainly pop with a latin and funk undertones growing on you after you listen to it a couple of times.
The song ''this is how a heart breaks'' , ''something to be''. ''I am an Illusion'' are my favourites. In fact I enjoyed the whole album with all its songs.
Produced by Matt Serletic (Matchbox 20, Willie Nelson), the album “Something To Be” also features musical guests John Mayer, Robert Randolph, Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers), Jeff Trot (Sheryl Crowe), Mike Elizondo (Dr.Dre).
This solo debut of Rob Thomas' is definitely worth the money and it will be his classic album for a long time to come. Enjoy listening to his amazing range and style.
