I went Shimla previous year in the summer vacation of my college with the friends. Shimla is the place where we see the nature in front. Nice mountain views and everywhere snowfall was covered on the peaks of the mountains. We got a train On previous Night from Delhi and reached Shimla next morning. I like most the toy train which travel us from a peak of mountain to the other where the views of the nature was too good and other explanation are below
In the evening wandered to ridge and along mall to Embassy Retreat - great place to watch the sunset. we ate chinese food at chinese place on middle bazaar. Not great but god for a change. Found India coffee house had an unlocked wifi network as well as tasty food
Chail palace amazing place. Fun to walk to cricket ground - about 40 minutes - great views seen
Kasauli much less special than chail but fine. Unfortunately problems with electricity which affected hot water and heating.
Good dhabas in the bazaar with daal, rotis etc. Nice walk up to sunrise point about 15 mins from hotel. Nice church in town with friendly pastor who gave us tea though he was on his sickbed and got the warden to open it up. Not a huge amount to do. Grand Maurice a more characterful place to stay but more costly.
I am giving it 5 star and also want to go next time
