Love or Hate Soccer ? It doesn't matter because it's not just football.

Here the ball races towards you like a meteor powered by the gods. The goalie challanges you again and again to take your best shot at the goal and irrespective of how good you might be the goalie could be even better.

The names of the players are **Mighty Steel Leg Sing, Golden Leg Fung , Iron Shirt Tin , Lightning Hands, Iron Head** etc and they are not just names, the players' talents hold true to their names.

Welcome to** Shaolin Soccer.*

The movie revolves around former soccer star "Golden Leg" Fung who is on the outs with his boss, and former team owner "Coach Hung". Then he meets down-and-out Shaolin Kung Fu expert "Mighty Steel Leg Sing". Golden Leg sees an opportunity to get even with his former coach, the man whose corruption led a furious crowd to attack and cripple him forever; thus ending his career. The two new friends visit the former Shaolin brothers who now lack self respect and confidence and some even their shape, to recruit a soccer team and go for the 1 million dollar prize.

The movie witnesses some astonishing stunts and special effects, especially the ones on the football field. This could easily be said to be creativity at its best.

Directed by Stephen Chow himself, who also stars as the "Mighty Steel Leg Sing", this movie brings about a fresh breeze of talent.

In 2001 / 2002 the first mutterings and rumblings around “Shaolin Soccer” arrived on Western movienews websites, and I was very surprised when the articles mentioned an actor who was More popular in Hong Kong than Jackie Chan.

That actor was Stephen Chow, and although the type of comedy he excells in doesn’t always travel well beyond Chinese borders, on occasion he shines with utter brilliance. He is not the best actor out there, not the best fighter and not the best acrobat, but he has a vision for gags which combine his talents splendidly.

Even bad jokes can be a lot of fun when the timing is right, but Stephen Chow adds an unbelievable amount.

I would recommend this movie to everyone !
