He is probably the most matured , dedicated , focused and the most reliable player I have seen in my life . He doesn’t have the records as good as Inzy or Sachin or Lara but his reliability is guaranteed not for 1 year but for his cricketing life.
He was an average player first not matured he was then also slow and steady but was not able fix his position in the team or on the crease . His performance when he debutated was good but it went down down and down . Then came the 1999 world cup he got the edge by scoring awesome 153 against Sri Lanka.
Then from 2000 to 2005 this person’s dedication and relability was just not seen Test Cricket but also One day cricket . The great Tendulkar and the good Ganguly had another rival with them Rahul Dravid . God Between 2000 - 2005 he has scored 5 double centuries means he scored as an average 1 double century each year.
He has I think around 21 test centuries and he and Mathew hayden are catching very fast to Sachin those days are not far when his or Hayden’s test centuries would be equal to Sachin’s .
In recent he has scored two back to back centuries against Pakistan . As a captain he is just ok not very good . He has now less fans in Bengal as its the place our dada or the bengal Tiger’s belong . He is stuck with this conspiracy with Chapell and the selectors of kicking Sourav out of the team . I Hope its not true.
As a player he is just master piece in terms of looks or acting on screen NAAH he is quite ok in it too. He is a player having that tortoise attitude he playse slow makes the crowd get bored but at the end of the day hat’s get off to him. A salute to last years MTV’s Youth Icon - Rahul Dravid .
