Aamir started the 300 cr club in India followed by Salman having two consecutive triples. SRK had 2 films in between when these were happening.
One was Dilwale which could not touch 200 and the second one FAN which not even touched 100. If we are looking at his last 4 films starting from Chennai Express the graph is showing a downward trend in terms of boxoffice figures. Now it is high time for SRK to hit a triple to overcome all the failures.
As per the Raees teaser launched 1 year back it was suppose to release by EID 2016 and later it was postponed. Now it is announced to be released on 26-01-2017, coming republic day. . hrithik roshan's kabil is also getting ready to release for this day.Now let us have some calculations
1.Screens will be shared.
2.SRK will be getting more number of screens because of star power but not as much like a Solo release.
3.Approx screen count in India will be around 3800-4000.
4.Being a holiday occupancy for first day will be almost 90%.
5.If the ticket rates are similar to previous releases of SRK then day1 will surely get a collection of 30cr.
6.Being a thursday release it will get a 4 day first weekend and by this time it can reach some around 100 cr.
7.The real test starts from 5th day from where the story should deliver.
8.If Kabil underperforms and Raees comes with a good script then 200 cr will be an easy job. But last year it went the other way as Bajirao performed well compared with Dilwale.
9.But reaching 300 mark is still a question mark only because it is a January release.
