A few minutes drive from Vasco lies the city of Cansaulim. This is where lies the Park Hyatt Resort and Spa. Set on the whole of the Arossim beach the resort stands out like a gigantic replica of paradise (at least I felt so). Luckily we had the room reserved before we reached the place and did not have to go through the details again.
Being a fanatic for bike rides, I had never liked cars or any other mode of transport within a range of 500 - 750 kms. That was and is my limit of biking till now. And my wife the sweet thing that she is loved to ride with me too.
We decided to make it a tour till Goa and stopped at more than 1 place on the way. Our first stop was in Tumkur (this was only because it was too late when we started from Bangalore and we wanted to call it a day and leave the next).
We found a really good hotel called Shri Krishna close to the Tumkur police station which was just off the Bangalore-Poona highway. We stayed there overnight and left from there the next day morning towards the Poona highway hoping to get some time to spend at a few of the heritage sites on the way like Chitradurga.
As we went on with business on the road we took a day to reach Davangere and called it a day there as we did want to check with people back home and also let them know about our whereabouts and safety. We stayed at a 4 Star hotel in Davangere on the Davangere - Hubli road (don't remember the name of the hotel though).
The next day we left towards Hubli and covered a lot of ground reaching Goa by late evening. At first we really did not have any idea of the location of the hotel because I had always stayed towards Baga whenever I had visited the place. We had to search for the resort which took us close to a half hour and finally we got there tired from the day long ride.
We had not anticipated a Welcome when we reached the resort but we were in for a surprise. We just had made a phone call to the hotel to inform them about the fact that we would be checking into the hotel sometime by late evening.
The hotel actually had staff posted at the gates waiting for our arrival with a buggy that would drive us to the reception. At the reception we were greeted not only by a pleasant travel arranger for the hotel but also by a couple of long awaited tender coconuts to soothe our bodies after the hot day on the road.
The travel arranger helped us to decide on the tariff for the room and the benefits of each tariff that he would be able to provide us with. After the initial pleasantries and paper work we were all set for a 15 day stay in a lovely Lake view room which had a patio looking out to the man made lake within the hotel.
The buggy was still waiting around to drive us to our room and get us checked-in. We were shown around the hotel, so we don't have difficulty in finding our self around the place. As it was very late to do anything that day, we decided to order our dinner in the room and hit the sacks.
Before I give a description of the hotel let me first say something about the room. The room was moderately furnished with a quesen bed and complimentary toiletris, a minibar which held some soft drinks, a couple of tins of draught and normal beer, and also had a few snacks to accompany the drinks.
But the main attraction in the room which can give the best feeling of stay for couples is the bathroom. The bathroom is set as a part of the room at a slightly lower level. It is a built in tub and shower which allows you to actually play around as you have ample amount of space.
The bathroom settings revolve around a single nozzle which allows you to turn the water on through the shower head which can be detached from the wall to be used as a hand shower and the tap in order to fill the tub.
The patio was also a major attraction for us because we had our room set in the last building in the property and had all the privacy we needed while outside in the patio. The laundry services were complimentary, but I think it is charged on some of the tariffs that were suggested, however.
The property is a sight to see also. It has a swimming pool for botha dults and children which can be used though at a surcharge. And as the property is set on the Arossim beach you have direct access to the beach through the hotel and you are free to roam around the beach, play with the waves at your discretion and in your privacy.
This place is a true value for your money and the staff are probably the sweetest I have seen by far in many of the hotels that I have stayed during all my biking endeavours. If privacy, peace and the best place to have both of these is what you are looking for then try the Park Hyatt Resort and Spa in Goa, you will not regret it.
This word is especially for people who love Vintage wines, they have a great collection of wines I managed to try all of them during my stay and believe me I loved every one of them
Cheers!!!
