I have been using this phone( Nokia C5-001) for over an year and my wife also owns one. This is the model with no touch screen. I wanted a key-pad type of phone and not just touch screen, so that we can at least dial a number when the screen gets washed out in bright sun outside.

As a simple phone, its features are nice and the basic layout is quite good. How ever the good part ends there.

It has almost every feature of a smartphone (except WiFi), however every feature in this phone is below average and frustratingly poor at times.

*GPS*: It has the worst GPS receiver I have ever seen. It takes hours to sync up with the satellite, if you are not on internet (my MapmyIndia GPS syncs in no time without any internet). Even when on internet, it still takes way too long time to lock on. The only time I was able to use it is after I took a hi-speed 3G connection. The maps are reasonable (free update from Nokia OVI) and the voice guided navigation is quite nice (as long as the GPS is locked).

*3G speeds*. It is really slow to make a connection to internet. Not sure if it is an issue with Airtel 3G, but overall browsing experience is very poor on this phone.

*Camera:* It is better not to talk about this camera. It has a 5Mpix camera (on paper) but the picture quality is pathetic. In general I do not like the quality of cell-phone cameras, but I have seen far better cell-phone cameras.

I think Nokia has tried to push too many things into this cheap phone, but have failed to make anything work well. Even the basic phone features are not as good as compared to Nokia's earlier phones (simple phones). In the effort to make the phone "smart" they have even failed make a decent normal phone, I think.

All the while I bought only Nokia phones in the past, but this is the first time I feel let down.
