I had taken Maxbupa Mediclaim insurance - Heartbeat Family First policy. My experience with them was very bad. In case you make a claim, all the communication is strictly only through mail. I got a mail from them saying that some documents are missing in my claim application but they did not clearly specify what is missing. I tried to call their customer care to clarify but they said that they will ask the claim department to get back to me on mail. Even after multiple attempts I was not able to get in touch with anybody who could tell me that which document is missing.


In parellel, I kept getting mail saying second/third reminder for the missing document in your claim application and eventually the claim application lapsed. They were just trying to complete their process as per regulation while trying to avoid paying the claim money.


During the policy buying process and again at the time of renewal I got two calls a day for almost 3 months but no one bothered to call regarding the issue in claim documents. It does not matter if Maxbupa ranks high on other metric but if they try to cheat customers out of their claim money then people should avoid Maxbupa.
