Currently MakeMyTrip is running a big scam . When you book train ticket through them and if the ticket remains waitlisted. They offer Tour Trip Guarantee option . This program states that if your ticket remains waitlisted then they will refund 3X that is 3 times the paid ticket fare . If you opt for this option then they charge App. Rs.600 per person extra. Now the real game starts.
1) Train ticket remains waitlisted on the day of travel.
2) MakeMyTrip will refund only train ticket price
3) MakeMyTrip will not refund Rs 600 which you paid under Trip Guarantee option.
4) They offer a 2x ( double the ticket price ) coupon which will not work . Also the validity of this coupon remains only 7 days.
Conclusion: Without doing anything MakeMyTrip will make Rs.600 per passanger. It's a honey trap as many of the occasion it's urgent for us to travel on a specific date and we fall in to their trap.
